Unfortunatley I dont have the finances to add another two drives?

Can someone explain the benifits of Raid 10? What happens if one of the drives dies that is in the mirrored pair? Example, i have four drives and could use raid 10 to pair them up?

I have an 64k server that i am going to be setting up from scratch and install Exchange 2007. I was wondering what would be the best raid set up for this? The server is a PowerEdge 2950 and below is the spec... 2 x Xeon 5050 3.0Ghz/2x2mb 667FSB 4GB 533 Ram( 4 x 1GB DIMMs ) 4 x 160GB SATA HDD ( Originally configured into a Raid 10 ) DVD-Rom Perc 5i Card The server was purchased by an ex NM and was never set up correctly before he left. I am going to set it up from scratch and wanted so good practice/advice.

I have a feeling it is to do with drivers. The drivers are broadcom and i hate these drivers. Like you i am unsure as what to do att he moment.

I have a dozen HP Compaq D350 computers than i need to create a new image for. These computers have never been imaged using RIS before. I am trying to install just a base image for these and then build an image to push back up to RIS. I can log into the RIS screen, choose my image and then it appears to start imaging but only gets as far as 'preparing to start windows. Then the computer just blue screens with a an error of 'an initialization error occurred while trying to boot from the network' I have tried two computers to rule out one being faulty. Any ideas>?

I need to get two extra SATA drives for storage to a server we use for back ups. I am going to get two Seagate 7750gb drives but i need to know if they come with the SATA cables or do i need to buy them separate?

I found this Windows Display Shortcuts I have tried it and it work swell. You can set up a custom reg file and import to all the laptops concerned. it also comes in a msi file which i presume i can deploy but have not checked it yet.

I ahve a smudge/smear mark on a TFT screen. I is my own screen at home and hasnot been used for around 3 months. I turned it on the other day to start using it and it has a sort of smear/smudge mark on the display. its almost like a finger print mark from when handling a newspaper. I tried the refresh/recall option and its made mno difference. Any suggestions as to what can be done to try and rectify this as i have never seen this on a TFT before.

yes it already has a DHCP reservation 1. No 2. No 3. Not tried this, as we have not had any problems with the other printers.

We have one HP 2600n printer installed on the network on our Print server. We also have a multitude of other HP printers on the server as well. The problem i have is if a file of more than 2mb is sent to the printer it does not print and just seems to stick in the print queue. All the other printers on the server carry on printing so i know the spooler service has not stopped. But, If i restart the spooler service the job that was stuck in the HP2600n will then print. This has happened 4 or 5 times now. The spooler service is automatically set to restart 3 times but i don't think it stops anyway. I have made sure i have the latest driver installed and i can't think of anything else that may be causing it. The printer is in the Art room so gets a lot of large files sent to it so its could be a huge problem soon for us. Any suggestions or tweaking of the settings?

Is it possible to have a sort of short cut or script that i could use for staff to be able to double click it and change the display resolution to 800 x 600. Then another one to change it back to14400 x 900. Its all come about due to a purchase of new wide screen laptops and the staff are complaining about having to change the settings via control panel all the while ( hard life, I know)

I have Sleuth set up on a old server which is about to be decomissioned. I need to move the database to another server. Is it just a straight forward move of the sleuth.db file and then repoint all the workstations that use it to the new location or is there any more complications that i should know of? Anyone already done this?

I am thinking of adding a two 1TB SATA drives to a server that is only used for back ups. Is there any issues with this size drive being recognised in Server 2003?

I have ahd a problem with a A200 like your first one. We went through all the grief on the tech support linre and in the end they agreed to come out and collect it.

Worth a bash at £24
