I have just created a RIS image and added several Serif applications. The pupils have mandatory profiles. I have the following problems: Web Plus & Page Plus - 'Unable to add color-Color already in Palette' (This error does not run when admin account logs on) I have given 'Everyone access tot the temp folder and also read access to the Serif 'Program Files folder' and no luck. Serif Photo Plus - Does not run a t all and comes up with an application error and closes. Gave modify access to the Program Files Serif Photoplus directory for testing and it runs now a error windows asking to email Photo plus errors to serif ( Runs fine when Admin account logs in) Serif Draw Plus - Could not find drive- failed completely Tried as admin nd again works fine.) Any help please?

I have recently created an image for a room, I added Macromedia MX 2004 and went in and added the code before i sent the image back to the server. Now when a pupil logs on the software asks for the code again. I have not had this problem before with this software. i don't really want to go round and do the image again. Does anyone know of a fix via script that can be done for this?

I may need to do this soon for another school so will keep my eye on this post.

What are the downsides of a pupil not having a profile configured. I have always used a mandatory profile. I read other stay away from roaming for pupils and some don't. I know from reading on here that others may use a super mandatory profile. I wondered what the downsides of not having a profile at all configured are?

Should we buy 19" tft or 17" for normal classroom use? Just wondered on what peoples thoughts are on this now? Should be be buying bigger ? DO Becta or other bodies have a recommendation?

Non eof theother networks i visit in other schools have this problem and they alll use netwotrk shares and jpgs?

I have assigned a wallpaper through GPO, i have checked all the permissions on the folder where the jpg resides and all is OK. The problem i have is when the users log on it shows the picture for while it applies settings but then the picture disappears. I just get a tiny square looking icon in corner of the screen. I have tried all sorts to no avail.....anyone have a clue here?

We are thinking of investing in a couple of rooms of HP DC computers. We are not sure on what final spec yet but will be Duo Core. I was wondering what experiences/feedback you have had from them regarding on site warranty etc. Are they good reliable. I would expect HP to appoint a good support company for their PC's is this correct? Anyone had any issues?

Anyone using the Hannes TFT monitors? I just wondered what the feedback is like on these such as swap out/warranty. tech Support etc?

Played the demo on PC this weekend.....very good. Still think i will get it for the XBOX though.

I am intrigued when i look at GPO settings as to how vast and how many there are. I like to run a tight ship when setting mine up and probably go over the top but i do it in the belief that if it is too strict i can always loosen up some of them later. I was wondering if anyone would let me have a look at their settings so i can compare mine to see if i am over the top. PM me if you would rather than post on the forum.

Are you using redirected folders in the GPo concerned? I have been looking into this just lately and i'm sure iread that there is an issue with using mandatroy profiles and redirected folders......especially if you redirect My Documents' Any one else heard this?
