I am at a school that has Exchange 2007 SP1 installed. Public folders can be accessed in IE7 but not in Safari or Firefox. The mac users need to access their emails via their browsers (internal use only) but they cannot see the public folders. I have tried the normal http://www.domainname/public but it does not work. Any solutions for a a limited knowledge mac user?

Can't these changes be made via GPO anyway?

I have been playing around setting up a new student mandatory profile. I have set it up in the wiki way and have run all the software once to get the settings i want all students to get. The trouble is the profile is now 44mb and i don't want all the kids to have to drag this across the network every time they log on. The main culprit is the application data folder. This is 42mb on its own. So can this be set in GPO to redirect the application data folder for everyone to the same location? Am i correct in thinking that this will not come across the server when they log on if i set this up? Can i do it this way?

I have followed the instructions on the wiki to create a new mandatory profile for the pupils in a primary school, but is causing me loads of grief. I created a user called StudentA and logged on and made changes to the profile i needed then copied the profile ( in the correct way) to the server. i then set te correct permissions on the share. The trouble have is that with certain programs when i choose save it tries to save the document in the 'StudentA' area and not the correct user area. If the kids try and browse up they cant as the do not have permission to go up to the folder higher. Why is it trying to default to 'StudentA' instead of the pupil?

Well, we have another two printer sof the same model withthe same firmware and driver and they don't have any issues with these fonts?

I have problem with HP 4700N colour which is refusing to accept certain fonts (Calibra and Cambria) Which it prints as garbage. Doea anyone know what the problem could be?

I have a GPo with settings in both Computer and User Configuration. I currently have settings on permissions on the registry in the Computer config already set up. I have just added another reg key and changed the permissions and it does not seem to take effect. Att the same time i changed a setting on the 'Local Security Policy' and that has propagated down the the laptop. It seems like its just the reg setting that will not propagate down. The policy was set up around a month ago and already contains re setting changes and they are apparent when you check the reg on the local machine. I have tried the GP Update on the server and the local laptop and it seems not to take any affect, but i know there has been a change because of Local security policy has changed . Both the LSp and the new reg key were added at the same time so it just does not make sense. any ideas?

I have installed the Smartboard admin package by hand for testing and it works ok. When i tried to install the Essentials by hand it stops and asks which subject i want to install. This is the admin install msi of Essentials, what happens if i deploy it though GPO? Does it just automatically install the lot? or will it fail or do i have to have a MS file? i would like to deploy all the essentials for all the subjects

I have created a custom MMC console that will let a staff user change pupils passwords. i have install the adminpak tools of server 2003 onto the XP workstation. If i log on it works fine but when they staff log on it come up with an error "current policies stop microsoft management console from opening in author mode" I think it is a permission to access something on the c:drive, staff have no c/:drive access when on the network here. Can anyone help or suggest any way to get this working.

I have set up Exchange on our domain. It will only be used for internal mail and not for external. My problem is DNS related i think. If i type the IP address into browser for OWA ie; https://192.168.1.1/exchange it resolves tot he OWA web page. If i type https://servername/exchange it tries to look outside the domain. I have added the MX record int two firrefent ways, once as just the server name and once as the FQDN and neither seem to work. I guess i have missed something stupid but i am new to Exchange. Any ideas?

I have gone into a school whose network manager is off sick. He has just purchased a APC 3000 UPS which has the NIC card built in. It looks like the one server has the software installed and it does show the IP address;'s of the other servers. Last night there was a power outage and the only server that shut down correctly was this one all The others just died. I think there needs to be a piece of software on each server but i dint know the first thing about it. Can anyone advise?
