Re-install net 2.0 again manually , cured that fault for us

I'm running Windows 2003 server, and I'm trying to configure a wireless network policy. According to my 'Design Security for Win 2003 Server' exam book there should be a node under "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings" called "Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies" however this node does not apprear in any of our GPOs. I've checked the default domain policy, default domain controllers, and GPOs created by us. But, I've noticed that if I edit the policy from our server via remote desktop, the wireles node is there, however if I open the policy on my WinXP SP2 machine it isn't. I'm running the Group Policy Manager SP1 (mmc says v3.0) on both server and workstation. Can't understand why I can't see it! Could it be to do with SP3 which was installed last week? Trouble is i can't recall ever looking for that setting?

I have been playing about with a couple of Asus EeePC's. I have installed XP Pro on one and it works like a charm. The thing that is constantly annoying me is that on start up the Display Settings balloon pops up (with the red cross in task bar) and tells me that the displays settings are wrong and asks would i like windows to automatically change them? Now, for ME this is not a real headache but if give these out to staff they will be clicking on it and it changes the resolution to the wrong one ( half the screen missing) Is there a way to stop this bubble by changing a setting or editing the registry.

We have a night school receptionist who uses a stand alone laptop. She has Outlook configured and uses it to keep a track of all the bookings for the different rooms/sports halls for the night school as well of keep track of payments booking etc. We had a scare last week went he laptop died but it turns out to be the Motherboard and this was replaced under warranty. What i would like to do is have a script run on shutdown/log off that automates the exportation of the Outlook contents (PST file) to usb pen drive file. Is this possible and does anyone know of such a script?

I need to set up an area in school to make it wireless. To test it for the next month or so i have a couple of Dlink 2100 AP. I know they are the not the best but i need to use these for testing before we consider purchasing better equipment. I have set the AP up with the correct security and settings etc. I want to use the Mac Filter option as well. I have a list of all the MAC address of the certain staff laptops that will be using the AP in this area so can drop those in the filter list. Problem is this, I need to log on each laptop to put the password in so that when the staff users turns on the laptop it will automatically log on to the network. I don't really want to have each laptop back to do this. Is there anyway the password or similar settings can be put in GPO or can you help me with other methods? I am new to Wireless combined with GPO...:

Your recommendations for Epson, canon or HP for A4 flatbed scanner?. Its for the Art dept and i need to get three. Should i go for the higher resolution scanners for around £100 or just go for a lesser resolution model around £60?

I will try and find out, i used one which i found via a recomendation in ComputerActive magazine. I even did a test slideshow with it and i was really impressed with it as well. I'll see if i can fish it out.

But for us, when staff are logged onto the network they have no access to the c: drive so can't update. I would rather manage the updates myself via GPO deployments.

I know this has been covered in many posts before but to be honest i am at a loss. I need to get some policies drawn up sooner rather than later and dont have much idea. I have googled and found little snippets but i thought it would be better asked on here. I need a Internet Policy, that students would take home and get signed A Student AUP (maybe combined with the Internet one) A Staff AUP & laptop Agreement i was hoping someone could give a few examples?

It was the printer driver on a HP 2420 It was using the PCL5 driver nad i changed it to use a Post Script driver and it works fine now.

Not sure if you could adapt this. I used it to delete two files but it may take a while for you to set up but once its done it would be easy to add to it. Just change the files paths to use a wildcard to search multiple folders.

One of our staff is having trouble printing from NovaT and Exams organiser trying to get the grid lines to show up. Examples : NovaT Choose Timetable>Proof Print>Print - this shows the grid lines on screen but does not print them But if she she prints Class Lists, Registration list etc the line print but vertical only? Exams Organiser Printing Mark sheets all the lines print but when printing Seating Plans no lines print at all but on the screen the lines show for both? Can anyone help with this? Its an HP printer (can't remember model but will find out tomorrow.)

So i need to install to a server location, then just apply the reg file via a logon script?

after installing the Smartboard Software and then installing the Gallery software - The gallery when first launched ask what content you want to download, you choose then it goes onto the Internet and downloads. Is there a way to download all the gallery and load it on to the laptop, or is there a gallery install file. How does this work or how do you do it?

Anyone got a copy of wininstall LE? I don't have my old 2000 server disc any more and can't find Wininstall LE any whee on this school sservers. Has anyoen got a copy they could zip up an dpost on here or PM me and i'll give my email addy?
