COuld any of you suggest alternates to Lanschool please?

We are having more and more Connexions staff come into our school now and I was wondering what should be the permissions given to them in System Manager for their Sims access rights?

DO they all appear when you log into iCloud??

@GrumbleDook DO you know if there is a limit to the number of devices that will appear in the 'Find My Phone' area of iCloud. How many do you currently have?

I am new to the whole apple world and need a bit of advice. I have recently purchased a iPad2 and love it, I have also now purchased a Macbook A1181 second hand and are now using both for work and home use. What i want to do is get iPages. I dont think i need complete iWorks as i doubt i will ever use some of it. I want pages so i can create documents for work and home and then have them synced with iCloud. I know can purchse iPages app for my iPad but what about my Macbook? Do i need to purchase pages for my Macbook as well or can i purchased on iTunes from my Macbook and then will it be compatible app to use on iPad? Sorry if these seems a dim question but i have no idea.

I have had to do something similar to this where i needed, surname, first name, reg, lates to AM only, I designed a report that gave me a count of how many times in a date range students had been late to AM. You should be able to add the UPD field as well, we also have filters for HOuse and reg so that we can really break down the reporting areas. The report then outputs to excel which gives me a count of number of lates. You can then filter to find what you want in our case we check on MOnday for the previous week to see who has 3 lates or more and then the approtiate action is taken. Let me know if you need any help designing the report.

Are you 100% sure?

Pull up a student record (not in student teacher view) on the right hand colum is a link fo rthe 'Communication Log' this will then open the Communication Log for that child only, click search and this will show any communication for that child. Not sure if this helps you but this is how we do it.

How do we get the new app then?

Is the timetable correct in T6 Ŵe had a issue with not being able to mark some doubles at it was because the rooms were different for the double. Just a thought,

Well we have used a RDP connection today from the iPad 2 to a win 7 box with sims installed. Did the demo we needed to show and worked for what we need. I am guessing they could use an iPad in the same way if set up correctly. But this is depending on the wireless coverage of the school.

We use a iPad2 with Emerge installed whiich has been very useful. As for an admin staff using for demo version i think you need a full blown install of Sims.

How do I clear the "Recovered Files" in publisher? In spite of choosing "NO" when I close the file, it still keeps coming up every time when I open publisher. I have saved them all and each time i tell it i don't want to recover but it still prompts me every time for the same files!!!!!

Now i know one good answer would be to scrap or bin them but we have around a dozen old Hitachi Cambridge boards sitting around in a stock cupboard. Does anyone know if these can be used for anything eles or given away to charity etc? Or should we just bin them?

We have a small problem here, the company we use for toner recycling have gone out of business and we need t find a new one. All our toner is HP orignal not any compatible stuff. DOes anyen know of a company who are good that we can use as we are currently building up a mountain of empty toner carts.

Have you set the prmission and group memberships correctly together with the right staff code in the Emerge Mamangement Console?

We have our printers set up as you do and use IEP and everything works fine. Are you using scripts inside a GPO or are you using Print Mamagement to deploy to GPO?

Also make sure your pastoral structure is set up correctly.
