What do you have t do to get hold of the BETA release so you can test it in your test enviroment?

InTouch cannot send or receive voice messages, only text, email or internal Sims messaging. I believe it will be coming but as of yet no.

Just wondering if anyone is using Office 2013 and Windows 8 with Sims and could provide any feedback?

We are using Office 2010.

We had a similar issue and edited the connect.ini on the users local PC. We added the line CommandTimeout=100000 and this helped, you can increase the number as you see fit.

Is it worth going to Bett on saturdays? I am struggling to get down in the week this year so thought about saturday. The only thing putting me off is that i seem to remember someone telling me that people dismantle early on Saturday. Is this true or is it still worth visiting?

SO you got them to image with the drivers on the CD?

We had an issue creating an image for these after buying one for testing. Did anyone else have an issue or a work around to this?

Thanks Vik, Ideally i would want to do a fresh install, brink it up to date with patches/releases and then use a copy of our data in a test environment. I intend to install Server 2008 on a spare PC we have and run it on that.

I was just wondering if anyone used InTouch to send texts to parents or staff about snow/school closure problems? If so did you send the messages from the web based portal or the actual software? I am asking just to see what sort of delivery times of the texts you experienced?

Thanks Vik, I've looked on Support net and cant seem to find the ISO. I have also had a quick search for the thread you mentioned with no luck. Think i am going to need a lot of help wit this or i may have to just dismiss the idea :-(

I would like to set up SIms on a laptops i can use it for testing and getting to know my way around certain modules. Does anyone know where you can get the set up files from or help me achieve this?

We've got Emerge an dare currently thinking of doing something around this. We too print register after AM reg ready for a fire drill but what happens if you need contact details in an emergency. Emerge will give you all this but woudl love to find out if anyone is using it in any way for the Fire drill? ?

This is the latest update from the Capita Forums posted yesterday: We are looking to add further enhancements to Homework as part of a larger project in 2013 to include allowing teachers to record if homework has been handed in, not handed in or handed in late and perhaps also record a mark so that it can then be reported upon. Reporting was going to form part of this project however, we have taken feedback and are currently looking to see if we can fit the reporting of what is already there into the reporting dictionary for the Spring 2013 release and add further functionality to this later in the year.

At this moment in time you cant create reports. Capita have promised to do somthing about this according to a post on the Support Forum. I have to do a similar thing for our SMT and at the moment i use snipping tool in WIndows 7 to put the screenshots in a document.

No it doesn't but I believe it will be something that will come sooner rather than later.

We use Emerge here without any problems. PE use iPods and we have 30 staff using iPads for registration and all works well. Yes they do need another password (we use 4 digit code) but if set up correctly this works well. It does know the Sims permissions and will only let you access what your permissions give you. Granted a lot is read only but you can view a great deal of information. Hopefully they will develop a the ability to add behaviour and achievement via the App.

One of our staff needs to run a GOTO Assist session with a 3rd part support company. When she tries to connect to the support session IE 9 just locks up but if i run IE as administrator is loads fine. It does prompt to run a add which i downloaded manually which is GoToAssist.exe. I have tried to run this on its own but it fails. Any ideas or experiences with GoTo Assist.?

Just wondering if other schools do this in Sims. I am worried that this will bloat our SIms database with unwanted people? Do you just stick to leaving personnel for employed staff and then a separate spreadsheet for other people who need to provide CRB details when they spent time/visit the school? Thoughts please?

Hi Vik, I don't have the time to set a user defined group up at the moment and wondered what others were doing if adding them to a system defined group.
