I've been asked to look into alternative internet providers other than our LA. Schools broadband are coming up quite competitive and i was wondering if anyone could give me any feedback who are suing their service?

Is it possible or should I say how do you change the FQDN on your network? We were originally a LA school but have now become and academy. Our FQDN contained the normal schoolname.localauthority.sch.uk but we are now an academy and ideally I would like to change the FQDN to our new name. Trouble is everything is working ok and I am just being a little OCD. Is it worth the hassle changing and if so how do I do it?

We had a trial if it but its just too expensive.

I want to look into Office 365 but know nothing about it, I have a few probably basic questions which I hope someone can help with 1, what inbox storage do you get? 2, does it automatically give everyone a sky drive account as such? 3, it we are looking to move away from a local network staff share resources folder how would this be managed? via sharepoint site? if so how much storage? 4, how does it link to AD for single sign on? 5, can you link it to your domain name which is registered with 1&1 internet? 6, what if your AD FQDN is local and does not link to you domain name that is registered hope someone can help! or point me in the right direction

What is the easiest way to give access to a certain member of staff to mark sheets? We have year 10 mark sheets that a temp head of maths needs access to. They are not bothered about each individual class as their is a maths year group mark sheet and they just want to see this. I am new to assessment so have no idea what's the easiest way.

We put an exception in our IE settings for the server InTouch is installed on and this solved the problem

We have a site licence for emerge and it is deployed to around 40 staff ipads, as well as the odd ipod. We have Sims SLG which lets staff log in and complete marksheets, registers, behaviour, achievement etc etc from any internet based PC in school or at home. We have full blown Sims in every teachers desk PC in school/ We use InTouch as well for messaging and emailing parents, student and staff.

What exactly cant it do?

How does this work? I have gone to add this via T6 and it will only seem to add an option that is on as the same time as one of out other periods? We have 5 periods a day but i want to be able to register a after school period.

I am wondering how schools record attendance or register pupils in after school clubs. We see this as a safeguarding issue and would like to record in Sims? Any advice please?

We want them to do it via that link so they have the chance to use 'Action Taken' which is not available via the top link. HOH follow up behavior incidents that are not resolved and some of the issue logged by class teachers are dealt with there and then and need no follow up, but using the top option they have no way of doing this? Class teachers tend to log incidents via the register and choose the Behaviour link near the top but have no way of adding 'action taken' If they choose the Behaviour Management link half way down then they get this option. Example could be that the Classroom teacher has dealt with the issue and issued a reprimand or class detention as 'action taken' this way the HOH has no need to get invloved at this stage.

Is it possible to remove links from the right hand panel in SIms? We want to remove a couple of links so staff can t launch from here. Maniny the behaviour link at the top as we want to force staff to use the Behaviour Management link which is at the bottom end of the the list of links.
