  1. Getting back to this, What day of the week would work best for most? I'm thinking about Thursday evenings as a nice way to slide into the weekend. It may be I'll have to create a new thread with a poll to see what suits most and what platforms (Netflix, Amazon etc.) you are all using.
  2. Can across a rather large shield bug on my lunchtime walk. Just a shame my camera couldn't focus on it!:
  3. I think the question I have to ask is, how many and how old?
  4. It's well worth it. A well done remake would be epic though. As it is, this is a hidden gem which you should make time for.
  5. I watched Cosmos on Amazon last night. It's a low budget British indie sci-fi movie about thee astronomers/scientists out for a nights sky watching who pick up a signal. https://youtu.be/st2Whd5Dngs As you would expect from a (very) low budget flick, it's often wooden, the script needs tightening and the character development really needs scaling back, but the underlying story is really, really good with plenty of science explained and tension generated. It just goes awry about the half way point where the writers start to employ every cliche, action line (lot's of 'Let's do it!') and trope employed. Still, this doesn't detract from the underlying premis. If they could remake this with a better script that ditches the personal issues between all the characters and really concentrate on the science and tension than I'm sure it would be much better known. Still, I highly recommend this small UK indie flick (it's over 2 hours btw!), just grit your teeth at the bits which...well, you'll see.
  6. Congratulations to @ICTDirect_Dave and his wife on the arrival of a new addition to their family, a bouncing baby boy, and we wish them all the best for the future [emoji4]
  7. MouseBall Backup Patch PowerDown Flatscreen
  8. I fell asleep about a third of the way through and woke at the end. Decided it wasn't worth a re-watch after that!
  9. Is that the plastic on the connector itself, or the surrounding (case) plastic?
  10. One question that comes to mind is week days or weekends? I think week days would be better, but I'll leave it up to you all.
  11. Rotating the service and well published schedules will be a good idea. Thanks for the suggestions everyone and keep 'em coming.
  12. Once a month could be a better bet actually. Let's see what demand is like and then take it from there.
  13. Given that most streaming platforms now offer a version of Watch Party, would anyone be interested in this as I feel there are a lot of hidden gems out there that would make for some great viewing. Anyone up for this, for perhaps one night a week?
  14. I've been watching it and enjoying it so far. Yes, there are more than a few 'but he could have got out of that easily' moments, but otherwise it's entertaining me. The Boys season 3 is great, although they have turned it up to 11 this season and I'm only three episodes in! Prehistoric Planet on Apple TV+ is an amazing watch. It's like an updated Walking With Dinosaurs but the CGI is great and it's nice to see them depicted in a whole range of environments that they orginally inhabited. It's worth taking out a trial subscription for that alone!
  15. Oooh, I can't wait to see what those first images are going to look like!
  16. Just a quick heads-up, IRIS will be holding a webinar today at 15:30 to talk about the benefits of their cloud based MIS, Ed:gen. You can register for free here.
  17. It's what we use instead of the ban hammer!
  18. We'll be on it as soon as we can!
  19. Welcome and make yourself at home
  20. Me too, and with Foundation, Starnger Things, the final season of The Expanse and Dune (ok, it's a movie) I feel like we have been very spoilt recently
  21. Me too. After season three I was concerned it was going a bit off track, but season four is epic! Love the way it is filmed like 80's horror movies, but it's a nice and tight package, even with the long episode run times. It's like having a lot of great little movies to watch.
  22. My apologies for the late reply to this. Is it coming? Yes! And as soon as we can. Is it HTTPS? Again yes. We have been stymied over the covid period due to us working quite closely with the new platforms support people and once covid hit then everything had to stop. Once they returned we now found ourselves having to work out lots of bits again due to changes they had made. This isn't just a simple one-for-one migration, We have used a lot of third party plugins and custom code @ZeroHour had to work out, and it is very important that all of these are migrated sucessfully and in a working state. We are pretty much there now and it's important we don't deliver a broken site as it will be much harder to fix after the fact. In fact, I have it on my desktop right now. I'd put a screengrab up, but it would have to be edited so as not to give some things away. I'll see what I can do for this afternoon. I know this is frustrating, it is for us too, but please bare with us, it really will be worth it and, all being well, won't be long at all now.
  23. And I'll bet you can't stop humming the tune either!
  24. Finally got around to seeing The Batman last night and now kicking myself for not watching it earlier. Very detective noir and didn't seem like almost three hours of movie. The limited and contolled use of fight scenes and gadgets (such as they were) made it even more character focussed, and I never thought Robert Pattinson would be able to pull this off, but after his great performance in Tenet, this is making him a favoriet of mine now. We really should organise some movie nights on Discord for us all to chat whilst watching some new and classic films.
  25. I though that was what the winning recipe was! Found out yesterday the Wings of the Apache (which I enjoyed too) was orginally called 'Fire Birds' in the US!
