  1. I think I'll add this (largely) forgotten gem -
  2. Just finished Am I Being Unreasonable on the BBC. Loved Daisy May Cooper in This Country and this was quite a bit different. A bit of a slow burn but the final two episodes really begin to shine a light on events and the ending had me going 'Oh!'. Worth a watch IMO.
  3. They probably showed all the rumpy in the trailer as there is little to none in the film and it's certainly not graphic. it's like every scene is wasted and there is little to no 'mystery revelation'. It's also about half an hour too long (run time 2 hours). I could see the few other people in there with us looking at their phones from about the 1 hour point.
  4. Took my son to see Don't Worry Darling (he wanted to see it for...reasons) on Saturday. I won't spend long trying to describe how bad it is, but, and SPOILER, it's The Stepford Wives, badly done and with VR. Pitch Meetings sums it up well:
  5. It's either a novel letterbox or new briefcase handle design? No?
  6. A much overlooked talent. Loved him since the early days of seeing him in The Young Ones and The Comic Strip. I was quite shocked to see he could also do real drama in Cracker.
  7. Thought it was a Nokia N-Gage at first. Hmm, some kind of old laptop pad?
  8. Backup, backups, backups! And ensure they work once done. Often overlooked, right up until the point you need them. As @Areku posted, you do need a distaster recover plan and ensure your bosses know about this and what it entails for when it is needed. Some decent network monitoring is also a nice to have, there are plenty of free and paid for (supported) systems out there you can use - https://www.comparitech.com/net-admin/network-server-application-mon-smbs/ When it comes to making a network map this may be of help too - https://www.capterra.com/network-mapping-software/s/free/
  9. Hmm, it does look familiar, but struggling to place it.
  10. I am so going to watch that!
  11. I kinda like the first one in a it's-so-terrible-it's-good kind of way. It was like they'd never played the game at all (which they probably hadn't).
  12. One more bump for tonights talk at 18:30 on teacher Burnout. If this is anything like Monday's talk (couldn't make yesterdays sadly) then it should be very good.
  13. Please keep it civil guys, remember many decisions about the deployment of these devices were taken by the school, not by the IT support department.
  14. I use a mortgage broker and have, just before all of this hapened locked myself in for a decent rate for the next 5 years. Certainly a lot less than I was paying before. @BOOT3988 Have you tried a broker? They often get access to deals you can't get direct from banks, building societies etc. Yes, you will have to pay a fee, but well worth it in the long run if they can get you a good deal.
  15. I use these guys - https://www.cleanshaven.co.uk/trial/ - IIRC, @ZeroHour put me onto them and it does a good shave (I only shave once a week usually). Try the trial set for £3.99, it comes with two blades and gel!
  16. Yeah, I really must get myself to the Arcade Club in Bury soon. Not been since before covid. Mind you I still have to try the Blackpool one too which was due to open as covid hit. Gotta get my cabinate fix!
  17. Just a quick bump so that those who have not seen this yet don't miss out. It promises to be quite an informative discussion and I'm quite looking forward to it.
  18. My son and I had fun too, and I agree, it was certtainly better than last years show. Just a shame the 'big' cabs (Hang On etc.) were pretty much all broken by the early afternoon on Saturday, but there was a lot of demand for them and they are getting rather fragile these days.
  19. By nothing being broadcast, do you mean you have no wifi signal at all, or that you can connect, but no traffic is being routed?
  20. Calling @ICTDirect_Dave!
  21. Does it not have an M.2 slot? Given its age surely it does? TBH, you can't go wrong with a Samsung SSD (I have one in my desktop).
  22. I know I've had to break out the jumpers and fleecy tops for indoor daytime use. I'm a bit of a weather spotter and from what I can see so far, the winter forcast is leaning towards a cold and dry winter, which will mean lots of ice and possibly snow. It also means light winds, so expect wind power not to be working at its best. I do hope for some now though and as my house is west facing and we get our wind from there (off the Irish Sea) I can expect the house to stay a little warmer due to the heat not being wicked out by 50mph winds. Oh, and I also use the charity bags for putting rubbish in, mainly when doing tidying and emptying things like room bins etc.
  23. But does it play Doom?* *Anymore.
  24. It may just be a bit of a disappointment for me as I was there to pick up prints and posters of old game magazine ads, but the stands that usually do them weren't there, as well as some others I usually spent a bit at. There just didn't seem to be the level of activity that you usually see there, not a lack of visitors, but other 'stuff'. Perhaps I just had more positive memories from a couple of years before. I'm fingers crossed for this weekend though.
