  2. Check your PM's.
  3. Does this mean i will have to turn off our SSL encryption on our Exchange boxes? and google will be banned in the UK now it runs SSL even for searches? and what about my iCloud account, and Office 365.... what a mess this could end up being or will SSL still be ok so long as you allow the secret service access to the communications on request?
  4. "If you're using the store for the first time with an existing Apple ID, you must provide a payment method. " So if you created the Apple ID via a browser at https://appleid.apple.com then try to download a free app the option for None will NOT appear. Which is stated on Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method - Apple Support Which is what i said "This won't work if you create the Apple ID via a web browser, the none option will not be available." , and the same article even goes on to state what i said too (with the addition of iTunes for PC/Mac included). which was "If you create the Apple ID on the iPad via the wizard and goto the Appstore and try to download a free app the option of 'None' is available when adding the billing/credit card info." If you haven't created your Apple ID, follow these steps to create one and a store account at the same time, without adding a payment method using: A Mac or PC. An iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
  5. If you create the Apple ID on the iPad via the wizard and goto the Appstore and try to download a free app the option of 'None' is available when adding the billing/credit card info. This won't work if you create the Apple ID via a web browser, the none option will not be available.
  6. I thought this happened months ago ? I'm all confused now, as we had an issue of google always using HTTPS earlier in the year and could not enforce safe search as a result. We had to implement SSL Inspection and push out the SSL to all clients.
  7. I had a play around about a year ago, just kept hitting a brick wall, use Wine for a few things but SIMS is just way too demanding. Either do the remote apps as synaesthesia says or get 2X which gives a slightly better user experience allowing you to put the SIMS icons on the Mac Desktop and Dock and makes it feel more like its running on the Mac.
  8. OneNote with Office 365. Add the Class Note Book feature. Microsoft Educator Network - Resources : Free Tools For Teachers : OneNote Class Notebook Creator
  9. Staff use Remote Desktop Services via 2X, Parents use Insight from TASC Software.
  10. We don't on any of our sites, i would if we were managing 1000's of devices but for a few hundred clients just seems more hassle.
  11. How odd we do have a VLAN for the guest network, but the rest is flat, with 40 Apple TV's (which are all air played too all day long) , 120 Apple Macs and almost 200 iPads, with all our printers (40+) with Bonjour turned on and we don't have these issues. There is also another 300 Windows devices adding to the broadcast traffic. So it seems odd for it to being killed by just 12 Apple TVs and 200 iPads.
  12. You've not seen 2 Girls 1 Cup have you?
  13. I would go for the Panasonic purely for reliability. I remember both our caretakers had engineers out to fix TV's few years back. 1 was a Toshiba kept breaking, he asked him which TV brand he recommended swapping it for, he said the Panasonic. The other had accidentally spilt water down the back of a Panasonic Plasma, the engineer commented this was the Panasonic set he had ever come out to as they seem to break the least (apparently Samsung was the one he went out to the most, normally power supplies, this was 2008). I've also noticed a lot of places that have the TVs on 24/7 have Panasonic Pro range, then you see places that have put the consumer class screens up and they have not lasted as long as there is a wall of mismatched models.
  14. Diet drinks make me eat lots. I get MASSIVE sugar cravings if i consume one. I just have normal, real pop now, and I'm the thinnest i have ever been as an adult.
  15. 5 Years ago the iPad did not exist except behind closed doors. So to ask for a 15 year plan is bonkers, and i would use the iPad as a good illustration on how much things change in just a few years.
  16. DiskMaker X is what i use for that.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDfkLQqPIKA
  18. Are you using the FQDN name of the mail server? If not try using that.
  19. In a way this is not a bad thing to an extent, as it should drive Apple to do more in the education market with the iPad, I'm all for competition. 1:1 is great, we have been 1:1 since 2009 it works well, but we don't let them take the devices home, they stay in school. I only see it failing when nobody has said why are we doing it, and what for.
  20. Here is a list of all known malware for Mac OS X (That almost always require the user to install it and enter the password to confirm to do the nasty to the machine) The Safe Mac : Mac Malware Guide Here is a good article on if you should need it or not. The author of this website is quite well educated in the Mac OS X and nasties department. The Safe Mac » Mac Malware Guide : Do I need anti-virus software?
  21. I take it there is no way to get above this with encryption turned on? Keep hitting the 100 mark on 1 AP, its dual channel, so was hoping it would be 100 per radio but does not seem that way. Just want to check there is nothing i can do to get the AP to stop refusing more clients when it hits 100?
  22. The Mac OS already has basic anti malware built in called X Protect. Its completely silent to the user. Couple this with gatekeeper, and OS X's model of running as a user then elevating to root when doing some modification to the machine you should be good.
  23. Im sick of calling support now, its almost every day with something new thats broken/not working. Today next to OneDrive for business on the health screen it says 'Provisioning failed' , and we went to give a user Office for iPad but says its not supported on this device when they login on the iPad, hoping the fact on the users licences it says in brackets if you expand it (OneDrive for Business ‎(Plan 1)‎ ‎(Pending activation.) is the cause, but still no clue why , we are licensed until April 2015. Anybody else had this who can shed any light on why its wanting activation? and where i go to do this?, support line just went dead part way through the call. OneNote for Mac has an Activation glitch with Office 365 so still waiting for a fix on that, they have no timescale, passwords stopped syncing last week and had to get that resolved, over the weekend i had to reactivate all my devices using Office 365 as they had signed me out. I've got no faith in moving from onsite exchange to office 365 exchange with my current experience, and when ever i login the health status of share point seems to be yellow, don't think i've ever seen that green.
  24. Do you or anybody else have an iPhone or Mac they could join to the same network to see if that sees the Apple TV?
  25. Nope its done the opposite way, you device sees all Airplay receivers and the user selects which receiver to send the device to.
