    Sims 2

Take it you want the windows version ? As its on the Mac app store for download.
  2. I believe Apple updated the Apple TV last year so you can make it only show TV's in the Airplay list that are near by (in bluetooth range). I don't know much about it, just remember reading it as one of the new features in the Apple TV update.
  3. Is the one in the green shirt related to that idiot Steve Balmer? Looks a bit like him.
  4. You could try the Classified section of AVForums or have a look on Apple refurb store and save a few hundred. Here is the 15" Pro Refurbs Refurbished 15-inch MacBook Pro Deals - Apple Store (UK)
  5. That was the first model Mac i ever had , had to sell it after 6 months when i hit some money issues but got a 2012 model the year after. It should be a great little machine the 2011 Air was in no way slow running Mac OS 10.7 and should take to 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10 fine as my 2012 did, only downside will be it does not have Bluetooth 4.0 so won't support continuity / handoff if you have an iPhone , apart from that so long as the Intel 3000HD graphics is good enough it will fly. I keep eyeing up the 2013/2014 Air the battery life is almost double what the 2011/2012 model is but i still get a good 5 hours out of this one 3 years and 300 cycles on.
  6. Which year and model?
  7. Get a refurb from Apple here Refurbished Mac - Buy Refurbished Mac Products - Apple Store (UK) you cannot tell its not brand new apart from the box. Once you get one you will wonder why you did not get one sooner! OS X is a pleasure to use and the trackpads on Mac laptops are just exquisite.
  8. How important is battery life to you? The iPhone 6's battery is really good. Also how much of the other Apple eco system do you have? If you have an iPad or Mac the iPhone with iOS 8 is more integrated with things such as handoff and continuity.
  9. Anybody had a play with it yet? Looks great and a lot easier to use than Photoshop. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/ Free beta available to download, plus the demo video shows off what it can do.
  10. This any help? https://kb.meraki.com/knowledge_base/activation-lock-bypass-for-ios-devices
  11. Does Meraki have the same controls as Apples Profile Manager? I have these options via Profile Manager. Also we get the Activation Lock override code
  12. iPhone 6, EE 10GB Data, unlimited calls, unlimited texts £33.99 a month.
  13. I think it depends on their age. If its primary school age I'm more in favour of a basic filter to help stop the accidental stuff popping up, at high school I'm more in favour of less filtering and more educating and hope they will take what they have learned back home and apply it where they will likely have no filtering and no supervision. But then if Facebook for example was not filtered how much of a distraction would it be in lessons? Which then comes down to classroom control and is it right to keep using the technology to keep the kids on task when we are really just talking about the modern equivalent of passing notes round the classroom or bringing in a porn mag. Give it 5 years (if that even) and every child will have a smartphone in their pocket (which a lot now do) accessing what ever they like, so i think in the end it should all come back to the schools behaviour policy. I think its going to be a painful transition as it gets harder to filter, and what we try to filter becomes more accessible.
  14. We have geovision sd 220 Ptz ip dome and we can read reg plates on cars more than 100 meters away with it. The police were amazed with it when they asked to use our cctv to monitor something.
  15. Just bought Grim Fandango for Mac. I never completed it originally so i think i will this time.
  16. Secondary School, 650 Pupils (We also support 5 Primaries) Secondary Teachers get a Macbook Air + iPad Air Office/Admin staff get a Windows desktop + Bursar and Exam Officer have a laptop The Primaries Almost every teacher has a laptop + a desktop in the classroom for the IWB (1 Primary has some Macbook Airs for the some teachers, will be more later in the year). 1 Primary has also given every teacher an iPad, another 2 Primaries have given some teachers iPads.
  17. Im guessing this is Mac OS? You will need XQuartz to run Wireshark, and then it can take up to 10 minutes on first run to load.
  18. Ive still got my Adobe Crayons from the 2004 BETT, anybody else got any ?
  19. Will stick with deploying Windows 7 on the 5 sites we support who run Windows for at least the first year while testing Windows 10 then deploy it where there is interest. The Server version i might move a big quicker (is it released at the same time?), especially once SIMS Support it as i have 6 SIMS Server running Windows Server 2012 and i scream every time i have to go near that horrid Metro.
  20. Kind of, you have to instruct the kids to manually make a library in the home directory, and then open it again in the future.
  21. Im having a play with Squid and got Sarg working to look at the logs, but it does not seem able to log google search queries. Does anybody here use anything to do this with squid?
  22. We 'Force local home directory on startup disk' Then we turn the following script (which redirects the documents to the network) into an executable using a free utility called platypus chmod -R -N ~/Documents chmod -R -N ~/Movies chmod -R -N ~/Music chmod -R -N ~/Pictures rm -rf ~/Documents rm -rf ~/Movies rm -rf ~/Music rm -rf ~/Pictures ln -s "/Volumes/Homes/$USER/My Documents" ~/Documents ln -s "/Volumes/Homes/$USER/My Documents/My Videos" ~/Movies ln -s "/Volumes/Homes/$USER/My Documents/My Music" ~/Music ln -s "/Volumes/Homes/$USER/My Documents/My Pictures" ~/Pictures Then use Profile Manager to run the executable at login. Also we set in the default user profile the DSDontWriteNetworkStores to true in com.apple.desktopservices to speed up SMB share access on the Mac OS.
  23. Decided i will go Friday, as i've not been since 2013. I was very disappointed with the new venue when i went last time, i much preferred it at Olympia.
  24. I was hoping their would be EduGeek mugs again, i have not seen mine for months
  25. No, we did originally have 2 periods after lunch but the last period the kids always played up and could not be bothered, so we made it 1 lesson after lunch.
