  1. On premesis filtering with AD auth and grouping is the way to go. Even if its a free solution like dansguardian, will give you much greater control.
  2. I use excel 800x1000 where possible. Should be under 700 quid each. I avoid 600's where possible.
  3. Never owned a Mini. NEVER want one. Been in a crash in one, which perhaps feeds my derire to have large cars. Only owned 3 cars in 23 years with less than 110k on the clock. Personal best was 220k on my Volvo 855T5. TT
  4. Yes, at the schoold we used NET2 for staff & 6FM roll call, and Inventry for Visitors. Our premises dept run a report at 8PM each night to see if anyone is left in the building, if the report comes up with someone they have to do a sweep.. If said person is not found they are assumed of site and then their manager has a word in their ear about proper exit procedure .
  5. Push harder on the pedal
  6. Only car I found under braked was our MK1 golf, and only when descending Kirkstone Pass at pace.. They faded badly to the extend I had to flare the handbrake to get it to stop. TT
  7. My manager just sold his perfectly good focus 59plate to hock himself for £250 a month to "USE" a CAR I say "use" as he will never own it I say "car" rather than "NEW CAR" as it's now old after 2 days. If he kept his old car I would say in the next 2 yeats he may spend £400. His new ( sorry not so old ) will cost £5500 TT
  8. Even though the are fairly crap lamps, they should work. So Multiple Faulty lamps) Multiple super cheap lamps with stuff cut out) User error) Controller error) I would borrow another DMX lamp and see if it works.
  9. I think we need more information to go on. Filtering of what to where? TT
  10. Not from what the OP says. They are using the Cisco as the DHCP server. As soon as a VLAN is given an IP then that enters the routing table as a CONNECTED route which is classed as the most reliable route. If the helpers are configured to point a the local switch DHCP server, and there is a range in the local switch relating to the VLANS Subnet then the local switch will serve the DHCP. TT
  11. We ( son and me ) Tried one of the £15 ebay leads with freestyler and it worked ok. We blew it up though, we had some stray voltage on our project using Arduino DMX and a home built Mosfet controller for an array of LEDS.. The Arduino, DMX Shield and DMX interface died. TT
  12. Hopefully it's a petrol! And No it's not good for anything, the engine will me running an enriched mixture which will cause more bore wear. The oil will not be thinned and will cause more wear on the crank, big end, little end and cam journals. The exhaust won;t burn off the moisutre inside and will rot the exhaust faster. Low miles cars are often troublesome. As for servicing, it makes a lot of money for un-necessary work or in many cases a lot of money for work not to be even done. TT
  13. It was not a simple program, it was a client application with a database backend (ADABAS based IIRC) . required setup by an agent etc.. TT
  14. 1st hit on google points to Pearson school. And the rest of the google page. In the UK it was looked after by RM. IMOH it was rubbish 12 years when I had to install/manage it. Its still in use and so not abandond even if your looking for a really old version.
  15. Yeah it's a while since I have done switch based ACLS and that was CISCO, but they always seem a little backward. Once you get use to it it, it sort of makes some sense but it's still a brain cooker.. TT
  16. Should just be a couple of one liners on IOS, long time since I have looked at DHCP on one though. But can't see it being more than a few mins work.
  17. Made no odds to me, signed in and out of buildings for the last 6 years using my card. I had no problems with it although I did advise the management at one place that they needed to be careful about using the door access data in cases against staff without it being in contracts. TT
  18. vSphere/ESX is free, no ram limit , no CPU limit ( or at least nothing low ) You then have vCenter that brings them into a cluster . That costs. You can have Essentials ( Max 3 Servers with plain HA) Essentials Plus ( Has more things like vmotion IIRC) Standard ( more than 3 servers with most of the bells ) Enterprise ( More than 3 servres with some fairly useless addons) TT
  19. If you read my post I say most work is left to the garage. but to be honest there's not been a huge amount to do. 16K Two cars 11 years, buy, sell , maintain. Current assets ~£2K And I am most defiantly a car person. I have a kit car in progress, a project sierra ( been a project for 15 years) owned all sorts things ( BMW, Merc, Jag, Ford , Volvo, V6 , V8, 5 Cyl Turbo) TT
  20. A00x is 4ch mode. D00x is 8ch mode. Have you tried going to D00x. Pressing enter. Going to A001. Pressing enter. TT
  21. www.incrediblepbx.com or 3CX site for that. You will need a VM/PC and a couple of phones. If your using a SIP service then you should be good but if you want physical lines you will either have to purchase PCI cards or use a voice router. Start by doing some internal stuff before looking at the LINES.. TT
  22. Not too tricky, some basic networking and then a little bit of tinkering. You will want something like incrediblePBX which has a good GUI. Big thing is finding good compatible phones, I found the Mitel 5220 Dual Mode easy to get working. TT
  23. I am with Tom, 6 months at the very least, and perhaps look to implement side by side in the autumn term. Recreating what you have in another product can take a lot of effort. Make sure you look at them all closely and make sure they do what you need as each have different approaches. We have sophos SWA and the reporting is fairly rubbish, I had to put in a Sawmill server to do any decent reports. We are considering moving to Fortigate as we have had the FW's for years but never flexed anything on them. I use Sophos UTM at home and it's a bit quirky.. TT
