what device is "10.107.71.254" and does it have knowledge of the vlan10 and it's ip range. You should not need IP's on anything other than your router with the exception of the management address for the switch although I doubt it is the cause of the probelm. If you were ever on featurenet , with your own system behind it you would dial 9 to get off your phone system and onto featurenet , and then a second 9 to get off featurenet. You should test. 999 9999 99999 ( if your an old featurenet user ) 112 ( avoid this as an extension number ) 9112 99112 ( if you are an old featurenet user ) If your Phone Server covers geographical diverse sites then make sure there is a local route to PSTN so that the location can be determined by the line. And always have a plain unpowered telephone plugged into a plain old phone line for backup. Rob

Good old Dell PERC's ( the AMI / LSI ones not the dreadful adaptec ones ) Would tell you if the controller mismatched the disks and give you a choice of what to do. Make sure you have everything backed up before you begin, and it may be worth considering doing a P2V virtualisation. Rob

we have had various issues, 2 that spring to mind are 1) Mac's / Linux don't like the .local domain , .internal is recomended 2) Windows DHCP & DNS get messed up for some reason so we forced DHCP reservations Rob

The CCNA materials are a good foundation for all things networking regardless of being oriented around Cisco. You can pick up a decent 3560 switch that will do vlans nicely for £100 off ebay and will be more than man enough to run your edge and core. One thing you will need though is help of the LA in order to get their router to know about new VLANS , or you will need to do NAT between thier router and your own. Rob
