1st thing to do is build yourself a VmWare ESXi box. Then you have a nice test platform that you can realy play with. You can snapshot your server, break it and have it working again in seconds. You can have 2,3,4 virtual servers, Linux, Windows, etc.... Rob

I would say it needs to be planned as part of a review of your infrastructure and done in a considred and managed way and not a rush job. Half term is your window and that's rolling in fast. Rob

So you should be ableto configure an SSID to use that interface. Put the interface on a spare port on Smooth. Set Smooth to handle DHCP for that interface. Apply a filtering policy. And that should do it, more or less..... Rob

It's why I mentione the second port (if it has one) on the Rukus and connect it straight to the Smoothwall. Rob

without either a seperate LAN or a VLAN you have the potential for any of the BYOD devices to have unrestricted access to your entire network ( servers, printers, clients, etc ) Does your Rukus have 2 interfaces? one could go directly to your smoothwall and be firewalled purely for the BYOD internet. Is the connection between the Ruckus and the Core a Trunk? Our Meru is trunked to the Cisco core which then has the vlans on it. Our BYOD is tagged by the Meru for the BYOD VLAN on the cisco. I imagin Rukus can do similar. Rob

With Toshiba. Build is flimsy in places (draws are dreadful) Otherwise no major complaints, service guy is good and does come for regular maintenance. Contract is not gr8 though. Had Xerox in the past and the machines were gr8 but the service (especialy on the phone) was not as good. Not used Cannon in a long time but would not touch them based on that experience. Rob

Sort of Planned Wobble last night. Pizza Express, Cinema ( we got given a big box of popcorn by one of the wifes freinds who was there as well) , and a bottle of red wine.... The Pizza was planned. Popcorn, Cheescake and extra wine was not..... Oh and I had to go into town to book the OrangeWednesday ticket and had to wait for the cinema to open so had a pint inthepub whilst waiting....
