I name servers in a boring, easy to remember way - school code-role-number, but a colleague, who looks after the firewall, insists obscure names are more secure. Hence our current firewall is hosted on Ash, and I think the new one will be on Bernie.

Already checked that - the only time the server loses connection to the time server is after it loses its trust relationship.

Every weekend our OWA goes down with a "certificate has been revoked" error. On investigation it appears that the trust relationship between the TMG server and the domain has been lost, and we need to remove and readd the TMG to the domain, and then re-request the certificate from the CA. Exactly a week after we have done this it happens again. So, why does it happen weekly, and what can we do to prevent it happening again?

Why would they need Internet access on the VM - they only need to minimise it to access the Internet on the host.

Have a look at virtualbox - there are a number of posts on here about it. You have the ability to pass through a mapped drive on the host machine, without giving any network access.

Standard Microsoft security updates - it's the randomness that confuses me. I can lose access to Exchange on one machine, and it work perfectly on the machine next to it. I checked the security event log anyway - no security failures at all.

We are having a number of intermittent errors on our network, where either pass through authentication fails, but inputting username and password works, or a user loses connection to Exchange for a short period. When this happens you can still ping the exchange server. There is no consistency in where the computer is, or the security level of the user. I've checked, and replication between the two DCs is fine, as is time synchronisation. There appear to be no relevant event log entries, either on the DCs, the Exchange server or the client. Any ideas?

We rotate wallpapers - a different one each day, each with various motivational quotes, or calendar specific - Remembrance Day, Christmas etc. They are served from a server with a simple batch file to rename them every night, so \\server\share\school.bmp is different every day.

No idea - on at least one occasion the school was closed. There is no consistency in the time the change occurred. Now I know it is happening I'll check it when notified of a SIMS issue and hopefully we can narrow it down.

I was advised by Capita back in January to check the recovery mode, and at that point I changed it to simple. Today, after complaints of SIMS slowing down I checked it again, and it was in Full mode. I've changed it back, but both Capita and I have no idea how or why it reverted - at no time have I restored the database. Event logs show that the recovery mode has changed 20 times since January - sometimes twice in 10 seconds.
