Just setting up the scheduled tasks here, and while I can start the revals, the taskkill command doesn't turn off the revals - it stops the trusteRevalController.exe but the reval is still active. i have the taskkill command in a bat file, starting in the folder containing the exe.

It's happening again. It seems every time I try and create a new VM of Windows 10 I have to try 3 or 4 times before I can get a working version. if I restart the machine with the blank screen I get to a logon screen with defaultuser0 as the username, but I can't get any further.

Some of our users are complaining that if they use IE to visit google (either .com or .co.uk) all they see is a white box with a spinning circle, on a grey background, which they can't interact with. Other sites work fine, and accessing google through Chrome is also fine. We access the Internet through a Bloxx filter, but this is happening to staff and students, and staff have a very light filter. Any ideas?

yes, tried that - it tells me the GPO containing the script is running, it's the script itself that's apparently blocked by Group Policy. Its only the *.vbs scripts that are blocked - the *.cmd scripts I have run with no problem.

Is there any way, other than removing all GPOs and adding them back in one at a time, that I can find out which GPO is blocking the script from running?

One more thought - if you have more than one DC have you allowed time for group membership to replicate between servers?

You can, but it isn't necessary. Users (or computers) can be members of more than one group. I'd only nest groups for ease - if I wanted, for example, all form tutors in a group I'd add the Y7 form tutors, y8 Form tutors etc to one group.

Group structure or OU structure? Are you nesting security groups?

Yes, use Item level targeting to determine who gets which drive, in conjunction with which OU you link it with.

I have a vbs script running at log-off that removes any printers. This works well on Windows 7. Testing on Windows 10 the script fails to run, with the message in event log that it is blocked by Group Policy. The software restriction policy for both OS is almost the same - with the exception of a couple of rules blocking some Win10 apps. It definitely allows scripts to run from \\%userdnsdomain%\sysvol Any idea what I'm missing?

We have an on-site Exchange 2013 box, and our clients connect to it with Outlook 2013. We do not use Cached Exchange mode. We are getting a number of important internal e-mails dropped directly into peoples junk e-mail. How do I prevent these e-mails from being marked as Spam?

On the server open a command prompt and navigate to C:\Program files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net Document Server and type dmconfig and press enter. This will show you where SIMS thinks your doc storage is. You can probably get rid of the other one (I'd probably rename it at first, just in case)

The host is 2012R2. We've decided to use the LTSB I think (No apps and I'm a bit of a control freak )

I've tried two different ISO downloads, both do the same. It's the LTSB version, original release. I built the machine I'm typing on now from a disk cut from the same ISO, as well as a previous VM on hyper-v. I think I'll wipe it completely tomorrow, delete the disk and create a brand new VM. I'll probably download a new ISO as well.

ISO - I get as far as Settings, it doesn't matter whether I accept defaults, or refuse to send anything to Microsoft, it says please wait, then starts as the image. If I restart it it does the same.
