I have a server 2012 R2 box configured with remote desktop and have setup some remote apps. I can logon to the website then click on an app, enter my credentials again, and it runs fine inside my network. I am publishing the site through TMG 2010 and my external users are able to log onto the website, but when they click on an app they just keep getting prompted for credentials over and over again. The prompt just says 'Enter your credentials', for TS Gateway Server and Remote Computer and at the bottom says 'The logon attempt failed'. Googling returns plenty of errors regarding redirection, but we don't redirect the site, so it can't be that. Can anyone help please?

We use Dell's Appassure to back up, and on the whole it works quite well. However, it only offers back up to disk, and I'd like to archive to tape as well, just for an added peace of mind. I can archive backups off Appassure to a disk, and then write that that archive to tape. Great idea, except Windows 2012 doesn't support back up to tape. Can anyone recommend suitable software for backing up a single folder to tape?

I've been clicking around the server, as you do, and I can now access the website internally and connect to a computer. I need to be sure of licencing before I can go any further forward now.

I've just fired off an e-mail to our licence supplier to check on our licencing situation. I think that, given the resources required, and the way this might scale, we will be better connecting to existing desktops, rather that to virtual machines. So, now I know what I want, how do I do it? Can anyone point me to an idiot's how to? Or even give me an idea of the correct terms to google - I keep getting links to logmein.com!

Ours exists, but I wrote it when we were an RM school, and we're vanilla now, so I need to re-address it. We have a strong back up though, backing up to a location nearly a mile down the road, so if our virtualisation host (site 1), DR host (site 2) and back up server (site 2) all fail, we probably have a bigger problem than just the network!

I've been asked to "build a RDP server so art students can connect in" We used to use Frog, which allowed remote desktop to machines in Art, which were kept on until 11pm each night to allow Art students to access them. I now need to replicate this, but have no idea where to start. My ideal situation would be to allow them to connect to a virtual machine, so we don't need to keep machines on. Could someone advise me what we need to do this - server spec, licences, software - a walkthrough how to would be nice too! I'm a bit out of my depth on this one.

My boss has come up with the idea of showing a slideshow on unused (ie not logged onto) computers - advertising school events etc. Any ideas how to do this?

Fixed it - ran setup on the server, rather than a workstation.

I'm sure once I get this working it will be brilliant, but I've hid another problem. yes, and I've just restarted the server, still no joy - straw grabbing now...

I've looked at that post, and have removed the relevant section from web.config. However, I'm still seeing black crosses. The error message going to the css file is "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred." Nothing in the server event log.

I'm trying to install HAP, and have got as far as configuring the website by accessing https://localhost/hap/setup.aspx I get a certificate error there, as my cert is set for the external domain name. This I understand. However, I see the attached. it's probably very simple, any ideas?

2000 students, around 400 staff, nightschool tutors and students. 1300 computers, of which about 400 are laptops, and 50 are macs. 30+ servers, as we run our own exchange, SIMS, SQL and SCCM. We're split site, and there are 4 of us, and a non-technical manager, who also manages the site staff and kitchens.
