  1. Are you aware of this: PHP: mysql_connect - Manual
  2. Abtutor has two parts, Tutor and Client, you only pay for the Tutor part. It sounds like you have requested a site licence that covers all machines to run the Tutor software. If you are able to allocate a single pc in each room for the teacher to use and install Tutor on that machine only and install the client on everything else, you could save yourself some money. For example, If you had 10x Tutor licences it would come to £2200 based on thier perpetual licence.
  3. If you do Get-Process | Sort-Object PM Power shell outputs the list correctly sorted by pagable memory Also if you pipe this to the gridview Get-Process | Sort-Object PM | Out-Gridview It displays as it should, but if you then sort for ascending\descending by selecting the column of PM(K) it doesn't sort it numerically? 'Handles' and 'Id' sort numerically but everythig else sorts as a string. Is this a bug in the Powershell GridView or can anyone tell me why GridView displays this way?
  4. Do you have 'Download express instalation files' unticked, under - option > update files and languages > update files I think the update files can be about 4x times bigger if this is selected. also check 'Download updates only in these languages' is set to English, under - option > update files and languages > update langages
  5. Have you check the service status for that tenant, Office 365 had issues yesterday and again today. https://twitter.com/Office365Status/status/910111126322503681
  6. I think the following policy should remove that popup asking for permission. Computer Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/System/Driver Installation Allow non-administrators to install drivers for these device setup classes Allow Users to install device drivers for these classes: {4658ee7e-f050-11d1-b6bd-00c04fa372a7} {4d36e971-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} you can check those class definitions here https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff553426(v=vs.85).aspx
  7. Might be a stupid suggestion, but considering you have redundant controllers, have you tried leaving only one connected, then do the same for the other, to see if its an issue with just one of the controllers?
  8. How big are the other partitions, 110gb or 104gb? They could have used fat images from a 250 or 256 gb drive?
  9. I remember having a similar problem, this fix sounds stupid, and I dont know why it worked, but it did. Login as admin, change the region (under the Formats tab in the picture @Koldov posted) to English (Australia) Restart the PC Change the region to English (United Kingdom) Restart the PC Worth a try.
  10. OpenLp looks like it might be useful for us. Supposedly religious related websites are more likely to host malware, dont know how true that is, but I checked the installer with VirusTotal anyway, do you think these are false positives? https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/a50ec41b29744eac8a2f7ef3ada5a2dc4bc27ad3ac74961af2687c5255d71864/analysis/ What I would really like to see is some software where you can layout all your resource (powerpoint, youtube video, slideshow, lyrics etc) into a control grid on one screen. Then when you click on a resource it stops what is already playing, crossfades to the resource you have select, and starts playing that on the display screen. This would suit us, as we use lots of different media and teachers often go off script and want things pulled up immediately, but I haven't found anything like that yet.
  11. If you are going to do it yourself, check the LCD isn't cracked as well. You may also need a replacement digitiser too, they are difficult to remove without breaking (...well I always end up breaking them ), but that swollen battery actually might make it easier to leaver off.
  12. Ok, so looks like we don't have to wait for Redstone 3 to be released The lock screen GPO works now for Windows Pro on the Creators update - OS Build 15063.250 https://support.microsoft.com/en-sg/help/4016240 Just tested it and seems to be working as it did before.
  13. I keep to the guidance from the blog linked below, and don't have any problems. https://4sysops.com/archives/windows-10-sysprep-was-not-able-to-validate-your-windows-installation/ Specifically this
  14. By how much is it just over £2000, I can't see that being less than £2500 Good build nonetheless, mabye a bit of overkill on the ram?
  15. Supposedly, hackers who use gift cards are harder to track down, and that's what they used before Bitcoin was a thing. But obviously Bitcoin makes the whole operation alot faster, but it is possible to track payments. I think the convenience is the appeal. As we saw with the NHS attack, they drew too much attention and didn't withrdaw anything, possibly for fear of being tracked.
  16. Do you have Office 2010 SP2 installed, and any recent updates? I know Office 365 needs SP2 for autodiscovery to work.
  17. Yes, it lets me straight through in an inPrivate session. Do I need to clear the cache to fix the problem? would rather not though, as I want to keep the previously signed in account buttons there. EDIT: So if I do 'sign out and forget' then sign back in this fixes it for me. Thanks for your help
  18. When I login in to Office 365 here: https://login.microsoftonline.com/ Previously it would just log straight in and send me to the main menu. Now, the page goes blank and pushes me back to the sign in page, it says I am signed in, so I just select my username and then it goes through to the menu page. It's no big hassle but im sure it will confuse some people. Has this changed for anyone else?
  19. Does TronScript (large script that disinfects and patches windows) count? Not really useful at work, but can save time when fixing friends\family laptops.
  20. Microsoft will be removing SMBv1 from Windows 10. Insider Build 16226 - SMB1 server removed from Home and Pro, SMB1 server and client removed from Enterprise and Education. https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/06/22/latest_windows_10_build_kills_exploited_smb1/
  21. A few I find useful that I didn't see already posted, Frhed - Hex Editor WinDirStat - Disk usage statistics, visualised treemap of harddrive Handbrake - Video Compression \ Transcoder Recuva - File Recovery xnview - Image viewer, batch image compression \ transformation FileZilla - FTP Desktop Client CrystalDiskInfo - S.M.A.R.T data viewer
  22. Are the devices supervised? I dont know if it is still the case, but from my experience, if they are not supervised and you are using an MDM to deploy, they will still always ask for the password.
  23. Didn't see this posted anywhere, https://www.petri.com/microsofts-moves-windows-server-rapid-release-releasing-two-feature-updates-per-year If LTSC is reflective of how we currently have it, would anyone here choose to opt for Semi-annual Channel instead?
  24. How about freesync or gsync, does anyone know how that affects streaming?
