will read through wat others have up after my brew but, kyrocrea printers are about the same rrp as hp printers but the toner lasts alot longer, we have wroked out that purchasing enough of them will pay for themselves in a year with savings from toner. if you are interested in the doc we created for the boss let me know, im going to get a brew and sit by the radiator now

look at KYOCERA printers their prices are about the same as HP for the printers give or take, the toner is cheaper, and the toner does more miles (last alot longer) we are looking at replacing all our printers with kyoceras soon

Have recieved an email from one of the SMT who recieved a mail with foul language on. TBH not fussed about the matter (i know where the delete key is, or is a mail from my missus talking dirty). but just to keep him quiet is there any method of filtering mail on an exchange server. if so what do you use?

i heard about this a while back (sorry for not sharing). from memory it is being made for/by Dave (the channel) as part of their 'we dont just show repeats' thing. that is from wikipedia i agree with matt40k, they need a tiny budget!
-
even servers??? well for the rest of it i agree. would force staff to turn projectors off at the end of the day!!! i can see what you mean if you need to log in to a station tho. i would just not kill switch that room then wake from lan.

[joke] NERD JOKES: How many do you understand?
gibbo_ap replied to mattx's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
i got most of them... googled and found : DR. SEUSS EXPLAINS COMPUTERS If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort, and the address of the memory makes your floppy disc abort, then the socket packet pocket has an error to report. If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, and the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash, and your data is corrupted 'cause the index does not flash, then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash! If the label on the cable on the table at your house, says the network is connected to the button on your mouse, but your packets want to tunnel on another protocol, that's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall, and your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss, so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse, then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang, 'cause as sure as I'm a poet, the suckers gonna hang. When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disc, and the micro code instructions cause unnecessary risk, then you have to flash your memory, and you'll want to RAM your ROM... Quickly turn off your computer and go and tell your Mom. LOVE IT LOL -
you can have more than one USB keyboard in to a station, (never needed to know if you can do more than 2 tho.) would it not be easier to 'give' this student the lowercase kb (usb) and have them plug it in each time it is needed (assuming you have front usb ports)

am currently making my own build on from a system developed by ittech (http://www.edugeek.net/forums/web-development/27325-ict-support-system.html i have added AD support, ability to log call to a room, email it support when a call is logged, a know issues (for on going problems),will be adding a reminder function (call not closed email me to remind me) and a few more things i cant think of at this time. Also going to add RSS feeds to the system so staff can subscribe to the known issues and know the progress etc also we are dropping some old 15” screens in the staff room as digi signage and I can have this feed on there too. Also going to add a kind of knowledgebase of ‘key board not working – plug it in’ type stuff. will be adding • Filter by staff member, date, room, progress • Need to set which member of the support team completed the call • Finish/start selecting which member of the support team gets notified by email when a call is logged and if none are selected all members get a mail taking a break from all things webby this week 3 year dev plan fun

I posted a thread yday asking about cc4 after reading through and PMing afew folks i got a'wondering, what do people have on there cc4 nw OS'wise? are the problems vista related? xp related? both? so with no further a'do i will attempt to make a poll
-
same as bossman would love to hear some horror stories will also be checking rm communities. i did hear that the roll out of cc4 was supposed to be a lot smoother than that of cc3, i guess not. glad my proposal for an early roll out of cc4 was rejected now, what a fool i would have looked!
-
Just working on the 3year dev plan, and we just thought we best factor in cc4. I wouldn't mind knowing how it is going for you all so i can decide when to plan this for. cheers in advance!

we already have a projector replacement, actually looking at some i can manage wirelessly! idea of some hot swap switch gear is good...didnt occour to me (even tho we had two go down at the end of summer...al that hard work get things done then power cut). suppose getting ups' for the switch gear will be good too!
-
We are currently all sat in the office working on the dev plan for the next 3years. i currently am writing a document listing what we want to buy/lease. currently have: replace laptops, managed wireless, another laptop trolley (dont say a word!) additional stations (new build) Additional server possibility (due to load of new stations/laptops) new rack cabs for server room, more digi visualisers, at this point my brain stops, well i know by three months after the dev plan has being approved we will think of really cool things, but we need to know now. so then wonderful edu geeks if you were me what would you be buying???

On the services page you are missing the end bracket for ' (Warning some files contaminated with a virus cannot be always cleaned and may be deleted.' looks like there is supposed to be an image after some of the prices on the prices page (guess this is the per hour indicator, quite important) overall i like the design, although it does feel very 'windows' but you are only offering/advertising support for MS so this is cool. as a standard i always include email link on every page for ease of access. have also noted that you include you email addy as a pic which is great for stopping lil bots but not so great for dumb users (your audience) this is why i use email forms (you are using php and i have no clue how to do this). looking through the code i see you have no print style sheet (not checked how it does print tbh) the only thing about the design i dont quite like is the banner image, whilst it is neat tidy, informative and professional, it doesnt inspire me i would add some colour and possibly make a logo (then make a favicon). hope this helps

the web dev plugin for fire fox allows you to resize the window to different res' on thing i need to do on our site is fix the fonts for linux so u might want to look at this 2.
-
it does have the classic theme under ease of access
-
have u tried the leaked builds? I just installed build 7000 on my laptop last night out of bordom. i really like the new lil bits here and there + it works
