It's hard to tell - you may buy a new battery and find the unit still doesnt boot. I moved from APC to Eaton and reliability and battery longevity has been far superior, in fact my Eaton 5000's are 7 years old now and still have 90%+ battery capacity on the original batteries. I wouldn't touch APC again with a bargepole to be honest!

I don't buy monitors that don't use kettle leads. External power bricks are one more thing to go wrong/get unplugged/damaged/etc

It's highly likely that it is the 20 part of your 80/20 that's the issue, and also it sounds like it could be in a contended line too? Worth checking with the ISP. Generally moving to the cloud doesn't reduce bandwidth requirements, it increases it. I would guess you would need a 200/200 line to be honest.

APC batteries tend to start going down hill after 3 or 4 years so how old is your APC unit? If it's older than that then yes it probably just needs a new battery slotting in.

Sounds like bull to me! Can you install any other widows store apps successfully? If you can, palm it back to the developer.

Now that seems like a clever idea!! You'd want to double check the GDPR side though I.E are you uploading your CCTV footage to non UK/EU servers just for the processing and how long do youtube keep copies for.

It might not be the switch backplane POE capacity that's the problem there is on most switches a per port limit i.e a limit of the power that can be fed to each AP - 13watts for POE, 25.5watts POE+ and 50/70 watts on POE++ I believe your Aruba are POE+ so up to 25.5watts only? If you've seen 32 watts measured then that's probably the issue.

I think most places would just not allow the footage to be viewed/shared if it contains other people(s data) as going though and constantly redacting 25 frames a second is unworkable. Be interesting to see if anyone on here has some magic software for this as far as I am aware there's nothing free or cheap that would work.

Got 2 large epson's here in Hall and Gym - good image and very reliable.

It does sound like a firmware/config issue given it's site wide. But also - what switches are you running - it's not something do do with PoE classifications is it i.e an older switch not being able to power the new fangled POE++ devices properly? Ours was upgraded by the LEA from our old Cisco 1142 to new Aruba and to be honest there really isn't any difference that I can see - everything seems the same speed/seems to work the same? Gotta wonder if the cost was worth it.

Yeh mine are hardwired the cost of an electrician to put 20 meters of cable in to get 2 x 32 amp outputs in the server room was negligible. That was 15 years ago mind so it'll probably cost 10 grand nowadays :/

Cool have you seen the wattsapp communities? You can create a community so people can chat etc - and I think it's much more secure no one can see each others personal details phone number etc Might be worth a look for something like this.

On my 5412zl I was running 2 x 48 POE ports and 1 x fibre and 1 x 10-GBE and 2 x PSU was not enough I had to order the full 4. The switch stayed up then! I wouldn't have expected you to need 4 if your not running any POE though. Mind you it wasn't really explained simply anywhere that I could find at the time.

If you have 2 x PSU inlets on each server/switch then the best way to do it is buy 2 x UPS and on each server, put one PSU into UPS1 and the second PSU into UPS2. That way - your always surge protected (unlike when you plug one PSU into the wall), and if one UPS dies catastrophically the second one should keep things powered on. Also - I have each UPS on a separate actual phase on the 3 phase so that if one phase goes down for some weird reason the server room stays up. It was worth the extra wiring from the electrician. Just make sure the UPS's are big enough to do the job on their own if one fails - I use 2 x 5000 Eaton for less servers than you - and I would suggest something similar sized at least for your system. Mind you the Eaton kit has been running for 6+ years solid as a rock unlike the APCs I used to run. Haven't even changed the batteries and still getting 1 hour runtime and have never had to fail over to another UPS. The only things that have actually made me shut the servers down over the last 10 years are serious electrical work being done (all phases being taken down, new substation, etc).

It's likely that the Aruba core has VLAN1 disabled as per best practice - so once your VLAN1 data tries to go from your Edge to Core it dissapears. Realistically you would be best off moving VLAN1 into a different VLAN number on your edge switches to match your core and then changing all the door system ports from VLAN1 to VLAN whatever, shouldnt be any changes needed on the door system devices as they would likely just be running "untagged" rather than tagged with multiple vlan IDs?

The fact that they are VMs puts you in a strong position. I in place upgraded all my 2012 r2 servers - seemed to work fine and saved a lot of time. Took a veeam backup, Took a snapshot, did the in place upgrade, tested, if successful removed the snapshot.

This doesnt help any of us with very old chromebooks but they are extending chromebook update lifespan from 5 years to 10 years for any chromebooks made after 2021. It's unclear if this will retro apply to older chroembooks the article seems to suggest it "may". All Aruba Switches and WAPS here provided by LA with Ed Tech funding. We had zero choice or input into the design. Sadly, we only have read only access to the admin interface so any small changes that need to be made or checks on ports / vlans / etc have to be sent to the LA helpdesk - so rather than me do it in 60 seconds flat it will likely take them more like 6+ hours. It seems to work OK - the Aruba switches are for sure not as reliable as my old Procurve /Cisco estate that was removed. The WAPS do seem solid.
