  1. Yeh all three I recon. My new LED projector is 1000w PMPO mate so stand well back.
  2. Yep I had the same with Epson - the bulb one in the hall is super bright the LED one in the gym with the same rating is no where near as bright or has as good contrast.
  3. Intersting. Did you have to tell him what shoes to wear and what type of ladder to bring too?
  4. Thing is changes need to be made at the parental level first as it seems to be coming the norm to just give your infant kids ipads to shut them up which they then take all the way through school and into adult life. The number of pupils walking around here not looking where they are going they literally cant put theyr phone down for one second to make sure they don't fall down a flight of steps, it's pathetic. You can't blame social media or schools for it all as they are being given the devices often at a very early age by guess who, the parents.
  5. It's got to be virtual, so that they can do literally anyrthing without endangering the rest of your network and you can flatten the image easily so they can start from scratch. I wouldnt go with laptops TBH as they'll be trying to connect them to the WIFI and all sorts.
  6. No agreed Quote and PO# = No Order = No payment - happy to put the LA legal team on the case if they kick up a fuss.
  7. Yep and 90+% of people size them too small just to save a few quid.
  8. Highly trained IT people ALWAYS love doing Lunchtime supervisor and Photocopying & laminating and binding. It's a guarunteed way of getting someone at the top of their game. Maybe throw in Minibus driving and Opening and closing the school too?
  9. Depends on the manufacturer. APC 3 years and the batts will be on the way out. Eaton I have two units that are 6 years old original batteries no issues and still 1 hour run time. They are very low stress 10kva worth only running about 1kva of kit. I think the main problem with battery life comes when most people buy the cheapest they can get away with like a 500w ups and plug a 500w server into it so it's always running flat out and doesnt last long.
  10. Scan to Email is the easiest.
  11. Go second hand maybe - theres loads of poeple who are obsessed with having the latest and greatest, getting rid of 1 or 2 generation old kit.
  12. They appear to be going after the "most despised and hated MIS manufacturer" market - to be fair they're making good inroads the last couple of years!!
  13. I'd go used Dell maybe HP laptops - let someone else waste 50% of their budget and then you come in and grab some bargains off them. 50% cheaper = double the amount of equipment from your budget, right?
  14. Good luck hopefully it was just a blip!
  15. Oh do tell!!!!
  16. Opt out? If we've not put a purchase order in we don't pay as theres no order in existance - simple as.
  17. What desktop touch screen did u buy mr d hicks?
  18. Don't pay them until it's resolved.
  19. And the hinges will snap after a year on every single one of them! AVOID!
  20. Holy cow if they can't even get A4/Letter to print properly you are in a whole world of hurt. Funny because when other schools say to me "why did you go with Ricoh it was mor expensive on our quote" I say because the support is worth every penny having and engineer in who knows their stuff in same day/next day. Funny thing is those other schools cheaped out and went with Xerox or Konica or whatever - and now they're paying the price like you are ALL OF THE ABOVE should have been done sorted and fixed on the day of install!!!! Outright cost is not (shouldnt be) the main issue on a tender!
  21. Kinda Disagree (but then I am not a lawayer...so... ) That's just a personal opinion. Someone else might think their small ears or normal ears. "Guy that looks like a woman" is not personally identifiable data eithe that's just a (pontitally offensive) opinion too.
  22. From ICO personal identification page: The UK GDPR provides a non-exhaustive list of identifiers, including: name; identification number; location data; and an online identifier. No mention of jumper colour or ear size in there I think it's a bit of a stretch to say red jumper person is personally identifiable especialy if the school uniform is a red jumper...
  23. I've put the handful of USB allowed pcs in a seperate OU with slightly different GPO applied. This only apples to the PC not the user so no risk of any settings following them around to other pcs. There may be better/newer ways of doing it but this works.
  24. If you've got 32GB drvices then it's only gonna get more painful and difficult - 64gb ipads we have don't tend to have massise of space left on them either once the teachers get their hands on the capera app :/
