Been so busy trying to sort out getting proxy settings working via GPO that I've only just spotted that GPP drive mapping is broken.... Great...... I have 3 tablets waiting to go out to pupils to use, time to dig out the login script again....

Cheers, that's where it's set and has been for years. I've copied the templates over from a Win 8 PC to our central store. And tried googling to see if there's any updated ones for IE10 as well - that's not looking good at the moment!

I'm having great diffficulty getting 3 Windows 8 Ent tablets we have picking up proxy settings. I've tried using our current GPOs which set them via user config > Windows Settings> IEM, as well as trying via preferences. I've tried Windows 8 on a desktop as well, and the same issue. Running GP result shows them as not being applied, GP modelling shows they should be applied. I've trawled google, with no joy, and am about to trawl through the even logs for any clues Am I missing something obvious!

I've just removed HAP 7 and performed a clean install of HAP 8 (downloaded today), I have mapped the drives and they work as an admin, when logging in as a test users I get a WCF error (though not always) and the drives don't show, "something is wrong" is listed instead. Hopefully I've got the right bit from the JSON debugging (attacheddebug.docx

Voted other. we're not looking to deploy to the desktop, just finishing a Win 7 Ent rollout. But we have just bought three Win 7 tablets we're looking to upgrade to 8.

True, I could (or should!) have posted, however I did read up on all the posts and MS info, Youtube videos, etc, and with the requirement for audio decided to go the T150 route. I know I could have done USB headsets, but at least with the T150 the pupils can uses their own headphones. But I will post in future and Thanks for your help!

Yep, audio is working. And agree they're overkill, but as it's all new to me and I wasn't 100% how USB hubs and audio would work with MPS I decided to stick with a known solution. Now I have more of an understanding I will look at (cheaper) alternative's in the future

Thanks, for future MPS installs I will be looking at powered hubs, though I quite like the HP ones as they are VESA mount and have mic and headphone inputs which as one install is for languages will be useful

We've just started our first MPS2011 deployment using Novatech i7 PCs and HP T150 clients. I didn't purchase any power supplies for the T150s, I'm now thinking I may need to! The T150s are connected via USB with monitors direct connected to Graphics cards on the PCs. The first time I tried a USB Memory stick it worked fine, ever since I'm getting a power exceeded message. The T150s are running as Generic hubs as when I install the drivers for the 6200 multipoint desktop I end with a blue screen. I appreciate that USB use is limited, but had hoped that there would be enough power to run one usb flash drive per client, am I out of luck and need a power supply, or should a driver install resolve this (provided I can get around the BSOD!)?

So it works okay with gpo software installs and SCCM? You don't need to worry about installing software for terminal server, just do it as you normally would on a Windows 7/2008 PC/Server? if so, happy days!

Later this week we're taking delivery of our first lot of 8 x Multipoint 2011 Premium Servers, and 60 x HP 150 Zero Clients. Reading up on the Internet, and EG, it seems they work with Windows 7 policies. How are others integrating them, as Windows 7 PCs or as Terminal Servers? I was expecting them to work as Terminal Servers TBH! Also, any gotchas to watch out for?

We have 20 connecting to a Windows 2008R2 RDS farm via RDP. They connect straight to the Windows dekstop ready for sign on. Mainly used by pupils, the backend mainly runs Office and Internet access

Ours (Pitney Bowes) will send usage updates via the internet, but will not download via it. It won't work over VOIP either (doesn't like signal converted) best result we've had is plugging into a standard phone connection for downloads. And Ithought it was the 21st Century.....

I asked Sophos something similar a while ago, appaently it's not feasible due to the size of flash drives and portable hard disks these days

Waiting here to, as a lot of others are finding there's an increasing interest and demand for tablets in our school but I have yet to see one that allows easy network integration (or at least doesn't cost a load to do!). I wouldn't want to buy a load of tablets (ipad/android or any other) for them to have very limited use. Which is where Windows 8 seems to have an answer, it's jsut not here yet!

Sounds a bit overzealous of them to me! I don't have an answer to the legal implications, but..Whilst the PAT testers are 'supposedly' the experts what is your view on how dangerous the PCs are? Can you do a risk assessment with whoever is in charge of H&S at your place? Can you make safe with assistance from the D&T dept or site staff?

Has anyone else any comments on the Galaxy Note? I'm also thinking of getting one. I currently have a Nokia N900 which has served me well but Nokia dropped support for it quicker than a Tory gets dropped in a Westminster bar! I use my N900 (in this order) for: Internet, Email/text and Phone, so the Note should fit the bill well. I'm aware of its size, and would check one out first in store before ordering. Is there an alternative to check out as well?
