Bit late getting back around to this. Just spoken to RM, they only offer 50 day telephone support for £50, this will only support your exisiting install there's no access to any downloads. Pearson are taking over but having spokne to them it seems they aren't offering anything until next year. I'm stuck in limbo now as I want to upgrade to get the SQL support and move away from Sybase

Isn't most Education software! Our numeracy support dept are moving away from it, but literacy still use it heavily - unfortunately

Is Successmaker still available? We're looking to update our version and on enquiring I had this response, which I find hard to believe especially as it's listed on their site!

Remote shutdown Multipoint 2011
joe90bass replied to joe90bass's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
Thought it may come to that! I like ABTutor as it's easily managed from the console and gives users the option of cancelling the shutdown if they're still logged in. guess I can just set the shutdown for later than I would just to be safe! -
Does anyone use remote shutdown tools with MPS? We use ABtutor here and it successfully shuts down Windows 7 PCs, but with multipoint server they seem to get left in maintenance mode. I have tried setting two shutdowns i.e. one at 4:00 and one at 4:30 which has limited success. This blog seems to back up the issues I'm having! Does anyone else have this issue, or a workaround?

Sorry won't be much help now, it's been installed so long I can't remember how I set it up. I don't recall any difficulties, Sophos support are normally pretty good - give them a ring :-)

Yes, had it installed for a looong time! Does the job, users get a URL to go to when notified that they have spam waiting. Ours is set to mail them once a day if they have spam/junk. does the job, but having not used anythying else I have nothing to compare it to!

Windows 8 Pro in a Server 2008 environment - any issues?
joe90bass replied to mo_vigilante's topic in Windows 8
And watch the IE settings, they must be done via preferences now (and it must be server 2012 or the Win 8 version of RSAT you do it from) -
Hopefully somebody here can help! I need to provide the following report to our LA for CoCo. We run Sophos, WSUS and SCCM, I'm thinking SCCM may be the best way to provide this report, but have not looked into reporting yet. Has anybody else had to do this, if so how?

It's okay, you're not alone - neither have we! If I get the okay on my plan next summer we're virtualising and moving to Exchange 2013, Office 2013 and first install of Sharepoint and possibly Lync. But who know's what will happen in the mean time............

Yep, you edited your post just as I was about to say I had to delete and recreate, the press F6 before filling in the info.....!!

From MS themselves (I had this problem to!)

This helpful error message gave me a laugh - it's true there was an error! in this case it was an incorrectly entered serial number, but Fujitsu weren't going to tell me that!

Multipoint graphics issue
joe90bass replied to strawberry's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
It never occured to me to try it as we've never had this issue with our hundreds of imaged Windows 7 PCs! Not sure if it'll help @strawberry though. So far I've found MPS to be quite flaky, I don't knwo if that's the way it is, or if it's how I have them setup.....! -
Multipoint graphics issue
joe90bass replied to strawberry's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
Also, another thought, have you installed from an image? We had a similar issue to start and after an MS PSS call it turns out it was an issue with sysprepping and we needed to remove the MPS from the domain, add again and the issue was resolved -
Multipoint graphics issue
joe90bass replied to strawberry's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
How have you got the stations setup? And are you in normal or maintenance mode? -
That was one of the suggestions from MS, on the MPS with the graphics cards there's definitely no option as there's no drivers installed the T150s run as generic hubs (apparently you need the drivers to enable this option, though on the two with drivers isntalled I still haven't found this option), also bizarrely if I install the driver for the T150 they BSOD as there seems to be some clash with the ATI drivers. The issue is on powering up the MPS first thing in the morning, so they should be waking up anyway! I have looked at all other power options and where possible set them to be always on Thanks

We are having some annoying issues with our Multipoint 2011 premium setup and wondered if anyone else had come across the same issues. I have a call in with MS PSS, but they are not very quick in responding of late..... We have 8 Multipoint servers - i7, 8GB RAM, SATA drives. 6 servers have 3 graphics cards and run 8 clients, 2 servers have 2 Graphics cards and run 6 clients. All connect to HP T150 zero clients for keyboards, mouse and audio, the monitors are direct connect to the graphics cards. On power up some stations randomly need remapping via the press key ‘x’ screen, but that doesn’t work I actually need to unplug and reconnect the USB lead on the T150 for them to kick in. One multipoint today needed 4 out of 8 stations remapped this way. To clarify they have all been setup this isn’t inital setup! Some users also randomly have no Internet access or IE takes a long time to load. I have now removed the Graphics cards out of the two six user MPS to see if this setup works better, and have USB connected them for display to the T150. One seems to work great, but the other will not pick up the keyboard and mouse from the T150 on the primary station All MPS are installed from the same image. We have an inspection in 4 weeks, and I'm not confident that the two classrooms these are in will be reliable enough to use for staff at this time..........

Just been told by my supplier that HP are no longer offering the Multipoint solution

Thanks for the reply. When I try that app pool and go to the booking page the app pool stops!

I'm looking at moving from MRBS to this, and am just battling the very same issue! I'm sure I read a post on here where someone was talking about 32bit db drivers, but I can't find it now....
-
Yes, unfortunately you do. Win 8 desktop with the Win8/2012 RSAT

We very recently had 30 PCs with OCZ Petrol SSDs in, over 20 failed within the first two weeks! We had all replaced by the manufacturer (Novatech) with Adata ones, and so far no failures at all.
-
Indeed! Ours took months to arrive, our supplier had a right nightmare getting them for us as HP kept changing the expected delivery date....
-
Having only just started deploying MPS 2011 I am also interested to know if this is true! If so, I would also like to know of an alternative to the Txxx series as it fits the bill for us of connecting via USB to MPS and supporting sound
