Cool. If it works for you then great. I think delegated mailboxes are clunky too. One thing I've setup is a twice daily email to each delegate that says you have X number of unread emails in Y shared mailbox, so that they aren't checking all the time. We have loads of shared mailboxes though. Departments, heads of year etc for parents to email and people to email parents so it's a bit of a pain for everyone to constantly check the mailbox. On Google groups could your office staff post a reply in the actual group and a reply goes to the parent. Never tried it...and even if it did work it's probably another clunky configuration

Should be able to setup auto replies for each group.

How does someone know that another person hasn't replied yet?

Yeah parents always come up with some way of screwing up your plans. No outlook was my plan too...maybe got 10/110 on there still. Migrating any data from staffmail happened only for a few people which was the more time consuming thing.

Having moved away from LGfL staffmail over the summer myself as well, we did set up a few admin staff on outlook with the sync tool. If you set your from address in outlook or reply to an email in a delegated inbox you then it doesn't show the on behalf of. But I do find it only shows the email address eg [email protected] and not the nice "Office at Some High School" names that I set up. Looking like different chrome people may be the way to go. Someone could argue that with the "on behalf of" there is traceability if you have a larger office team.

Are the messages you are replying to in the staff.name inbox? Are they originally sent to the office@ and forwarded on. I would second just using opening the delegated mailbox as a second tab. No send as configuration.

It is one of these things where it comes with a lot of other things bundled. If you use the majority of them then it is cost effective. Atomwide get in the way more often than not and reportedly get paid a lot of your £8k for the pleasure. Webscreen 2.0 is shocking in functionality compared to what's on the market. Webscreen 3 is apparently coming but don't know what it'll be like. Having done the cost comparison recently we got to the point where it was relatively cost effective. The recent additions of licenses have been welcome. Neverware was a good way for us to reuse old computers over the summer which we would never have spent the money on otherwise. There's talk of them providing Smoothwalls visigo at no or reduced cost. Sophos intercept X give me a bit of piece of mind. Signed up for a few other offerings recently - egress switch, sophos server advanced. Can't remember the others that are available. We also got our price reduced recently although required another 5 year contract. Have a few email addresses of people that can help if you need them.

Can you paste the output of show vlan. I'm thinking the vlan is down because you have no interfaces (ports) assigned to it. In fact after doing some playing around on my 3024 stack I would put some money on it. If you aren't getting anywhere post or PM me a sanitized running config (show running config) of both a working and this new switch

Are you working with a console cable? Rather than connecting to an IP address. Off the top of my head Config t to get into configuration mode Vlan 10 Exit Interface vlan 10 IP address 10.10.1.9 255.155.0.0 Basically if you've got the the configuration of a working switch and just want to duplicate it's settings you should be able to do "config t" then copy the original switches configuration line by line to replicate it. Changing any ip addresses and vlan tagging as necessary.

Thanks for the replies. Does the app work offline? Like Groupcall emerge where it caches the data so you can take an iPad to a sports field without an internet connection and take the register for sync later.

I've just been given the task of preparing to roll out the SIMS teacher app. If I'm right about what I'm reading in the prerequisites checklist and have read online, I don't think they have thought this through. On the logons, the checklist says teachers must have either an Office 365, Microsoft (Outlook, Hotmail), or Gmail account to login. The way it is worded is I have to choose one of these options and only one. Are the latter two (Microsoft and Gmail) meant to be personal accounts? Or can in place of gmail, an education G Suite login (without Gmail) be used? We don't currently have Office 365 in this school. The other part I don't think they have thought through is how the app will be used. It needs to be installed on an Android tablet, iPad or Windows 10 device right.... well the school doesn't have any tablets. They have Windows 10 computers but the have SIMS on them already. If it's for home use then you are relying on teachers having one of those devices. It just seems to me that something like TascSoftware's PARS would be more suitable & inclusive with a web frontend. I've got the instructions hidden away somewhere for setting up vlans on Panasonic phones if you need. We had (rarely have now thankfully) the same issues with our Panasonic system. Our main effect was that an external calls wouldnt be able to hear us, but we could here them. When we were having the major problems it was due to a bug in NetSupportDNA when it did it's autodiscovery every 15 minutes. The broadcast traffic would knock everything out. Advice would be to have a think about what on your network might be firing out lots of broadcasts. And plan to put the system on a vlan this summer like I plan to.

I believe the cost of your Sims licenses, whether you pay capita directly or through your LA, include the most basic of support through capita which should include the upgrades. Though I would say £1k seems good if it is for pretty quick response support (basic capita support is slow). Our LA support is north of £6k PA.

They are the appointed distributor/reseller for ASUS Chromebook spares so would say they are pretty reputable.

Is the point of a 3 year agreement not that the pricing stays the same for those 3years. Pricing is guaranteed??
