Also I would look into the networking and routing side of things so that there is no direct route out to the internet unfiltered. This way you are not so reliant on endpoint security and the network is more secure by design. You want to make sure that unless you have a proxy configured you cannot access anything outside your LAN. Modern proxies/routers allow transparent proxying so all internet bound traffic goes through a proxy.

Has anyone else noticed that the amazing new Office 365 Groups feature is disabled by Link2ICT. This feature is really usefull and Microsft are putting most of their new development effort into sharing everything using this method over older legacy exchange type sharing methods which have so many permutation of what you can do or not with different types of group. Shared mailbox/Distribution list (also called distribution group)/Site mailbox/Public folder. For example oyu cannot share a calendar with a dynamic distribution list. IDaaS/BGfL365 uses a dynamic distribution list to create the staff@school group. Sharepoint calendars are not supported by mobile. I think my Ergo Microflex PC may be part of the problem they all have really buzzy audio outputs when using wall mounted speakers that other PC's don't have. These things have miniscule power supplies that I can't imagine are very high quality. Could also be the soundcard built onto the motherboard I suppose. I was even doubting the quality of the USB host chip as a possible issue. I used a ground loop isolator to eliminate the buzz. I have tried various types of these and only this one worked for me. I have had loads of those boards start spiking after we had the classrooms refurbished and electrical sockets moved close to the boards. We replaced some of the boards with refurbs and it went away for a month or two and then started to happen on replacements also. The year before we replaced PC's which had no Serial port so had to use CAT5 USB extenders (expensive type). Didn't really have issue with spiking on serial connection. Also it appears the activedriver (in my experience) does not work with a serial connection under 64bit windows at all!!! So USB to Serial adapter was out also. Have tried putting ferrite beads on every cable anywhere near the whiteboard but this made no difference. May also be worse if IWB power supply is near board as it can be with USB. With Serial it was always by the PC as power is fed from serial port. This has been the hardest problem I have failed to deal with effectively in my whole career! Guess these things are giant aerials so any EM interference is an issue. Would also avoid any coiled mains cables nearby as this generates a magnetic field.

MDM is designed for BYOD so restricting non-school owned devices or just installing apps paid for by the school can work well. If not school owned you may not want to "Supervise" them as this gives you even more options to lock them down. Find my iPad is also really useful if there is risk of them being stolen etc. So MDM is not all or nothing there are many different levels of control you can implement.

We are using the Cloud based version of PSF and find it slow occasionally via the web interface often. There are some interesting glitches with using the Terminal Services (MSTSC) remote desktop version. Also our Bursar finds it a lot less handholdy than FMS6 and CMIS Facility (which we previously used)

We asked if we could have it so only users with a e-mail address listed in the MIS were provisioned in BGfL365. had a few I forgot about that were deleted but that was my own fault. GroupCall said they were flexible on what field in your MIS they use to flag to IDaaS if they should have an e-mail account or not.

Hi, Tips for using manage.bgfl365.uk IDaaS interface If you are using the select all button make sure you have scrolled all the way to the bottom of the page as it loads the "presences" on demand so a select all will only select the presences that have been loaded on screen. I haved asked Link2ICT/Groupcall to exclude syncing users from our MIS who do not have an e-mail address field populated as I don't wan't the dinnerladies and cleaners being synced from MIS and making the list of presences really long.

We have tried out livestream.com iPad app which works flawlessly but you cannot make the stream private in the free plan. The paid for plan is extortionatly expensive. Does thecube.com allow you to password protect or otherwise make private the stream?

If you try to use this with a Non-business Microsoft ID (e.g. Hotmail) or skype ID you get this error. “Your company policy doesn't allow you to use Skype Meeting Broadcast. Check with your system admin to make sure the service is enabled and that you have the correct license.” Also get this error with our Schools Office 365 account. The tenancy is with Link2ICT service is called BGfL365. Yeah that included everything. Supplier said that speakers are daisy-chained so I guess it was a 100V system. I suppose that's another advantage of a Low Tech solution can be repurposed and will never become obsolete.

@sister_annex thanks for that we were quoted £7k for a 47 speaker analogue system with 1 Zone. We could add a lock-down system for a tiny additional cost.

Could be done with Raspberry Pii or Rii T01 Compute Stick I suppose (This Compute Stick has 3.5mm jack unlike the iPhone 7) Other option is iTunes and loads of second hand AirPort Express units. Jeeez this all makes the Chromecast Audio seem like the easy option!
