One of our staff asked me to look at her Advent 4213 netbook. The HDD has had it and the XP Home COA is rubbed away so there is no key. When I told her how much it would cost to put right she said it wasn't worth it and gave it to me. I have a spare drive I can use and XP Home on a bootable USB but without the key it's not a lot of use. I'd like to get it going for my granddaughter to use, whilst spending the least amount of money. Any recommendations please.

I'm having to resort to imaging to get a load of our clients to 5145. Some are still on 41xx and all of them refuse to uninstall using their force tool. I don't know how much we pay for Policy Central but it isn't worth it. Maybe 5146 will make all the difference.

Unless all trucks are fitted, they're not a lot of use. The Volvo will stop with inches to spare and the truck behind won't.

I guessed that would be the case. Trouble is, they had to make a decision by Saturday lunchtime. Oh well, I missed the delight of the M5/M6 in the minibus.

I'm trying to fix one of our cleaner's netbook. It's an Advent 4213 and I can't get windows to run. It's from PCWorld and their recovery option won't work either, I just get a message that the kernel is corrupt. Trouble is, the COA label is totally unreadable, so whilst I believe it is XP Home, I don't have the key. Can anyone suggest a low-cost solution as our cleaners don't get paid a lot!

Has your projector got audio out? It means another cable but might be the cleanest solution.

Thanks @Iain.Faulkner. The event is at Macclesfield Leisure Centre and they sent a picture of the running track. Great for speed skating! A good soaking of rain might help but they have to make a decision by tomorrow lunchtime, so if you do get more snow I think it will be cancelled. Great shame after all of the effort we have put in. Can you PM me an update if it does get worse?

I didn't realise that the reason saving interest are so low is because the government has given the banks billions to loan to small businesses, the banks are just keeping the money and therefore don't need any more from savers.

There should be a law against it. I got my last varifocals from Specsavers. The previous pair had Hoya lenses and were excellent but very expensive. The Specsavers ones had "Pentax" lenses, so I thought that's ok. It was only after I got them and was not happy, that I found out that the lenses are made specially for Specsavers by "Fredinashed" and that Specsavers had purchased the right to the Pentax brand. This smacks of deception to me.

What age range? I've found Scratch has worked well with 9-13 years. The more able help those finding it harder work and after the first few lessons, you can sit back with a cup of tea and let them get on with it.

We don't get that problem. They don't know how to load a dishwasher.

I've had a 2KW fan heater in it since 6.20am and there's still ice on the windscreen and roof. It's starting to melt now though.

I just got in and whilst making a cuppa, checked the dishwasher. It had been put on last night but the cups didn't look that clean. Then I noticed the un-desolved tablet in the bottom of the machine. They do tend to do a better job if you take them out of their wrapper.

That was really good.

We are open today (Worcester). We had light snow for most of Sunday but it didn't start to pitch until late afternoon as the temperature dropped, so we only got a light dusting. It's the really difficult stuff to scrape off the windscreen.
