  1. Console launch. All about the hardware, apps and the capabilities of the hardware and console. E3, the gaming expo, next month will be for the games.
  2. Ours is directly off our office (so you first need access to our office, before you can even consider getting to the server room!), internal room, first floor, no windows, behind a locked door that only me, my team, and the site team have a key to. CCTV in the server room itself, focused on the door.
  3. Our school hasn't given staff laptops for some years now - we have a desktop in every classroom and several in faculty offices, as well as remote access from home and so felt the need just wasn't there.
  4. Year of entry + initials + 2 digit number here. So a year 7 from September gone, named Joe Bloggs would be 12JB01.
  5. 7 throughout - got rid of Vista the second we escaped the grasps of BSF!
  6. We've just seen an odd issue - hardly an urgent request but may be worth looking at. In the Support Request Reports - the graphs are not ordering correctly, note the dates along the bottom in the attached image. Like I said, nothing major but it threw us for a few minutes when we were having a quick glance.
  7. We are also having this issue - is there a fix available? Cheers,
  8. 2 digit year of entry - initials - number. Joe Bloggs - 12JB01 John Bloggs - 12JB02
  9. Just completed a fresh install which went well - one thing we've had problems with is adding periods in the resource manager. We can add rooms, resources, set up weeks, etc without problem but when we select the "Periods" tab it's empty, no options to add or anything. Any ideas? EDIT: Looks like the column period_time_header in tblrb_periods wasn't created during the install. Adding it solves the problem.
  10. Think you also need to point your task sequence advertisement to the "All Unknown Computers" collection. Though that's in 2007, no idea if 2012 is different.
  11. Ozan has kindly been on to our setup remotely and has resolved the issue with a web config tweak - great support!
  12. Has anybody had any issues with a clean install of the latest version (2.2.273 - Diamond)? We can't currently even get to the initial setup page as we get an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error on any page we try to access. This is on a Windows 2008 SP2 Standard box and we have followed the various KB articles. A support request has been raised, but just though we'd check on here as well in case someone has come across this before? Cheers.
  13. Yup, tried every permutation we could think of!
  14. Hi all, Really hope someone out there can help us out on this as it's been a pain for a while now! We have RD Web App and RD Gateway installed on a 2008 R2 machine, everything works fine other than Windows 7 machines connecting externally. From outside the LAN, users can access the RDWeb page and can log in fine, however when they try and launch a Web App they are prompted for credentials and no matter what they try are then told "the login attempt failed" and are then prompted again for credentials. From a Windows XP, Windows Vista machine this works without issue externally. Windows 7 machines also work fine internally. The issue also effects standard MSTSC attempts from outside the LAN using the RD Gateway on a 7 machine, however using the iPhone app iTap RDP it connects no problem - pointing more and more to some issue somewhere between our set up and Windows 7. RD Web App is published through a SmoothWall and we have a trusted SSL that covers the RDGateway server, the SmoothWall and the external facing rdweb.ourdomain.org.uk address. It seems the typical "logon failed" issues relate to redirection being set up in IIS, but this has not been done - it is the default IIS configuration from set up. Nothing useful appears to be getting logged in any of the expected event logs - not even any login failures. We're pretty stumped now, and hopefully this is something really simple and stupid that we have just overlooked! Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  15. You may also need to specify the WDS server in your switch config, as an ip helper. Notice you already have "ip helper-address 10.122.196.43" which I guess is your DHCP server. If your WDS is on a different box you also need to add that as a seperate ip helper address on each of the non-server VLANs. I think!
  16. The command is now New-ExportMailboxRequest, as well as ensuring you have the role above^
  17. We've just this week placed an order with GlobalAXS after some great recommendations, very helpful during the ordering process and ended up with a great deal that beat our other quotes. Looking forward to getting it all sorted as soon as possible now!
  18. I've seen things vaguely similar, in particular with iTunes. The addresses/URLs needed adding to the Default Subnet Policy, as well as the Staff/Student policy as it was trying to authenticate to the NetSweeper as the machine rather than the user. It's been a while since I've dealt with it though.
  19. Have had to do similar in the past, we found using devcon and copying the driver files locally was the best bet, and sending it out via sccm, though you could send it as a startup script I guess. Along the lines of: xcopy "\\PATHTO\DRIVERFILES\*.*" "C:\support\drivers\DWLANE5500\" xcopy "\\PATHTO\DEVCON\devcon.exe" "C:\support\" cd c:\support devcon updateni "C:\support\drivers\DWLANE5500\NETwNs32.inf" "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4232" You would obviously need to change your specifics for the driver inf and the device id vendor, etc, but that worked without issue for us when we did 180+ Dells.
