  1. Out of interest, does anybody have/know the contact details of anyone at IRIS/BioStore (assuming they’re not on here!), as we’re seemingly being completely ignored by our account manager, our project coordinator, and the project team DG… [emoji849]
  2. For the stuff we’ve actually physically been responsible for we’re pretty much on schedule - final parts of the new central teams office being stood up tomorrow ready for Thursday. Stuff we’re relying on third parties for however is a different story… IRIS/BioStore, here’s looking at you….[emoji52]

  5. Another vote for FreshService/FreshDesk - does everything we need it to do
  6. Our Trust (eight schools) went live with Arbor successfully last week, following an 8 week process.
  7. Our final data migration to Arbor happens next Friday before go-live after Easter. Cannot wait to be rid of SIMS!
  8. Does the UPN suffix of the groups match your 365 tenant? If for example you have an internal UPN of “ad.domain.com” but this isn’t in 365 and e.g. your tenant is “domain.com”, you’ll need to change the UPN of the group to match. Only mentioning it as it’s something we came across when we first started the sync to 365 a couple years ago.
  9. Put it behind Azure Application Proxy if you can (licenses, etc.), then scope it to only allow your admin users and enforce MFA/conditional access if required.
  10. You may need to export the certificate from the MMC snap-in as a .cer file then run Import-RDWebClientBrokerCert “path to .cer”
  11. We are looking to appoint a Senior IT Engineer to work in an experienced and growing team across a cluster of three schools, whilst supporting the wider Trust. The Senior Engineer will support the development of technology for teaching, learning, communication, and administrative functions. A key focus of the role is to assist the Head of IT Services and the IT Services Team to provide high-level support to all sites across the Prospere Learning Trust, and act as the escalation point of contact for on-site Technicians at assigned sites (MEA Central, Grange School and Prospect House). Full details here: https://www.tes.com/jobs/vacancy/senior-engineer-it-manchester-1501081
  12. As well as the intermediate R3 cert from the SW article, we've also added the X1 self signed root from https://censys.io/certificates/96bcec06264976f37460779acf28c5a7cfe8a3c0aae11a8ffcee05c0bddf08c6 and then removed the expired CA cert from the SW. That seemed to sort things for us.
  13. Prospere Learning Trust are looking to appoint a Senior IT Engineer to work in the team primarily across three schools in Manchester, supporting the on-site engineers on day to day problems and working with the wider IT Services team on Trust-wide issues and development. 15. Is the user account you’re trying to send the report to sync’d to 365? You should also just be able to type an email address in the check name section I think
  16. Think you need to do this from the EAC on the 365 side
  17. That makes sense - will initially try this with a school that has a new connection going live in the next couple of weeks, to avoid impacting the rest until we're sure it works. Thanks a lot.
  18. Hi all, Hopefully someone has either tried this (and can tell me it either can or can't be done), or can point me in the right direction. We have a number of schools across a number of different ISPs, and a central "MAT" site. All the schools and the MAT site have Smoothwall UTM appliances. Each school is connected via an IPSec VPN to both the MAT site and every other school, which works fine and is pretty much issue free. What I am potentially looking at is cutting down on the complexity of having to have every school connected to every other school (especially as we grow and bring additional schools on board), and instead being able to route from one school, via the MAT site, to another school. Effectively having all the schools have a single IPSec connection to the MAT site, but being able to route wherever needed. Possible? Cheers.
  19. Hi all, As a growing Trust we’re looking at the SLA we offer our schools, and part of this is around out of hours/on call staffing. I was just wondering if anyone has any examples of how this works in their Trusts/schools - particularly around expectations on response, what (if any) payments are involved and what times are expected to be covered (24/7, etc). This would only be for “serious” issues around infrastructure, not standard requests (password requests and the like). Appreciate any responses. Cheers.
  20. We name them with a three letter prefix for the site, then the room, and type/number. So ABC-F01-S01 is a staff machine in F01 at ABC. We write the devices service tag (and make and model) to the AD description field when imaged.
  21. This is also how we do things
  22. We’ve recently been quoted between £5k and £6k (but some suppliers much higher!) for wires only 1GB/1GB
  23. Thanks - I thought as much and have also seen the UserVoice - we're also using PowerShell to create our Teams, would be useful if anyone who uses Salamander etc. could confirm it's the same via that and there's not something magic they're doing?
  24. Hi all, I have a quick query please - I'm fairly sure I'm right in what I'm thinking but I'm second guessing myself.... With regards muting students in a Class Team (not a meeting, etc.). Staff (who are owners of the Team), can select Manage Team, then Members & Guests and select the Mute Students tick box - all fine, as expected. What I'm second guessing myself on is if there is any way to set this centrally, or automate via PowerShell, etc., so staff don't need to manually do it once a Class has been "activated" so the students can access it? I'm fairly sure there isn't a way (currently), but I would appreciate any input - especially if there is a way! Cheers.
