  1. We recently moved to Live Register but sourced the hardware ourselves. They were happy for us to use our own hardware and they did the install. They charged a license fee for each till though but was still cheaper than real ePos terminals. We got Panel PCs from VeryPC: https://www.very-pc.co.uk/products/all-in-one-pc/panel and Ergotron touch screen stands: Ergotron 33-387-085 Neo-Flex® Touchscreen Stand. The cost of the tills was about £450 each plus the license.
  2. You can use Teamviewer or other similar services through LGfL if you get the headteacher to agree to the declaration on the support site > My Account > HT Declarations. This will allow you to unblock individual applications through Webscreen.
  3. Ditto on the VeryPC panels, we've done exactly the same with Live Register as the cashless provider. They are super quick and the touch screen is great.
  4. Thanks @elsiegee40 for posting this. Can I though please direct anyone interested to the school's website as we have had some issues with applications through the Guardian which we are trying to resolve. Also please bare in mind that we need application forms rather than CVs. Coombe Academy Trust - ICT Technician
  5. What does it show in checkpoints?
  6. Hi, AVHD files are checkpoint files. 248GB for a checkpoint is huge, you must have had a checkpoint running on that server for a very long time. In HyperV manager, click on the machine and see what checkpoints are in the second panel. You will need to remove the checkpoint but with that size it will take a long time and probably cause a big performance impact while it is moving all the data back into the VHD file.
  7. Thanks for all the responses. Got several for Cunninghams and some for Nationwide. Does anyone have experience with BioStore or LiveRegister to add in? David
  8. Thanks!. Off topic, but this is the first MS form I've done and its better than the Excel ones, much simpler to set up but still needs some work to get there, but a good start.
  9. Hello, We are in the process of replacing our cashless catering system and are getting feedback from users of the systems we are considering. I have set up a survey here with the points we are interested in: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=-DIAZ76itUOzPLBg-d_NxCFYwdCe2EBEoToGR5KCG4lUM1FRU082SVY5Ujg5VVZOTTBLSUtUMk82Qg%3D%3D The companies we are particularly interested in are Live Register and BioStore FasTrack, however we have also listed Cunninghams, Vericool and Nationwide. If we get enough response I will try and summarise and post back for the rest of the community. Thanks David
  10. The latest version of Powerpoint can do screen captures (2013 with updates/2016). Go insert-> screen recording.
  11. You should be able to add it for £0 from the purchase services page (I think its near the bottom) in the Office 365 portal. I think they are trying to roll the licenses into one so you don't need to do that but at the moment you still need to 'purchase' the service. Once you apply it to user accounts you can activate Azure RMS from Azure AD.
  12. @FragglePete, your first paragraph seems very familiar to us, particularly about the speed of the biometrics. I'm impressed to hear that Cunninghams reading is much quicker. We have just taken the decision to move entirely over to proximity cards/tags for everything and the speed of that is hundreds of times faster. Did you have similar problems with online payments? How do you find Cunninghams on this point (although you said that they actually speak to them which I imagine helps a lot!)? Out of interest, what did you do with your old Vericool kit? I don't suppose you have any of the cashboxes left over do you?
  13. Hi, We have Vericool but are going to be running a similar tender process as we need to replace all our hardware, so are checking what the other options are like. A big question for each company is how well they work with the online payment provider. We use ParentPay and often have problems with Vericool not sync'ing correctly and they have to remote in to fix it. Let us know what you end up choosing. David
  14. Yeah, it sounds like the OUs aren't actually excluded correctly if it picks them up again in a full sync. Is this how you excluded them: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/jj710171.aspx. If you can get that working correctly then you shouldn't have to worry about deleting the accounts.
  15. Hi, Do the accounts not disappear once you exclude the OUs again? I suspect if they come back after a full sync then the exclusion is not working correctly. BTW, are you using DirSync or Azure AD Sync/Connect?
  16. We have IAM Cloud Drive Mapper, and when it works it is great. We have had some problems with the serial key not being correct but that has mostly when we have been asking them to make changes. It is pretty cheap per user but will seem pretty expensive overall. We signed up when you could just buy the CDM product but found that they changed their pricing this year so that we could get the full SSO for the same amount. We tried to set this up last week but it caused a great deal of issues so had to undo it. We may try again further down the line.
  17. Hi, We are on LGfL with Office 365. You still need to do a firewall request for port 587 to be opened as it isn't by default. We haven't done it as are still using the LGfL relay for outgoing but may need to soon. BTW, have you migrated everyone over to 365? How have you found the process? Are you using the USO authentication or your own DirSync? Regards David
  18. Hi Gareth, The problem with using groups to give access is that it is an Azure AD premium feature that you have to license. I couldn't find a better way for free. Are you paying for AAD Premium? David

  20. Hello, We have just moved all our users over to Office 365 which is working out well, but we also want to be able to give users Google logins for things like Classroom. I have GADS working and all our users are provisioned but I can't seem to get GAPS working to get the passwords sync'd, plus the limitation of having to change passwords to sync is a big pain. I tried a few months ago to get SSO working between Azure AD and Gapps using this tutorial: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn308591.aspx and it worked great, but it seemed to be completely random who got assigned to the application and who didn't, and obviously the ones who didn't weren't able to access it. I know that group application assignment is part of AAD premium, but surely we must be able to a bulk assign to all users or something, with 3000 odd users in our tenancy it is not feasible to manually assign them. Has anyone got this working? Thanks David
  21. Hi, We have a GAFE account for our school that was originally DirSync'd with AD but not really used that much. We changed our email format and wanted to update all the logins so I used GAM with a CSV to start renaming the accounts. However, Google didn't seem to like that and have blocked all of our admin accounts with no way to unlock them. I have tried phoning them but need a PIN number which we can't get without logging in. Does anyone know how to contact Google in this situation? Thanks David
  22. Hi, We just stick an email address in AD, run a sync and it shows up in Exchange and we can email it. Does this not work for you? David
  23. We are about to purchase this service: Cloud Drive Mapper - Enterprise Cloud Storage | IAM Cloud which maps the OneDrive and Sharepoint Drives as network drives. I've just done a 14 day trial and it seems to be quite good but time will tell.
  24. Hi, The setting is on the client rather than the NPS setting. You need to set authentication mode to computer only. You can do this on the PC or through group policy if you're already pushing the config through that. David
