  1. At the moment I am struggling to find classes at the gym that I really want to do. Tried body pump the other day - so boring I am sticking with Zumba and will start some weight training soon once a week. I have been doing the vitality fitness 20min HIIT class. It is great because the instructor does it in real time - all three sets - so you don't have to go back to the beginning at any point. http://magazine.vitality.co.uk/week-1-4-transformation-calorie-blast-workout/ I feel a bit better but still nowhere near as fit as I used to be. I am currently fostering a dog so it is back to long walks for me. But back in the day I used to walk my dog twice a day and do 4 high impact classes a week Completely giving up anything doesn't work for me either, which is why I said I had mostly given up bread! All in moderation
  2. I hope more people are thinking about losing weight and getting healthier. I was taken aback by the number of edugeeks who are overweight! I know it is a bit of a cliche but come on guys! I have cut out bread (mostly) and cut down on the carbs in general. I have lost the bit I put on over Christmas and now the aim is the daughter-in-law's hen do in June. It is in a spa. I'll have to get undressed...Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  3. The point about external support is a good one. It could make all the difference to support levels. 350 pupil junior here, 70 student laptops, 20 teacher laptops, 45 desktops. 1 x part-time tech with phone support from an external company and one 2 hour visit once a month
  4. Kingston here too. On my keyring - never had a problem
  5. The school want to donate them to Africa (sorry @Oaktech) ITSchoolsAfrica have replied and seem quite keen. Thanks all
  6. I don't mind a charity in the UK - the Governors just want a clear idea of where the PCs are going
  7. I have had endless problems getting through to any of these "Computers for Africa" type websites. We have 30-odd 6 year old computers with monitors etc that the school want given to a good cause. They are Intel E540s 2.7GHz with 2GB RAM and 160GB hard drives. Does anyone know of anyone who will come down to deepest Dorset and pick them up? I know there are free recycling firms but the school really want to be able to say that they went to Africa or similar
  8. You would of course give me random stuff - coz you luv me. But yes, I did ask for badges and you found them for me
  9. Still watching The OA So they have been in captivity for years and yet they have the same clothes, and the same length hair, and they don't look any older ....
  10. You were in a hotel, what did you expect! Come down to Dorset - we have some very nice locally produced ales
  11. I got lots of pens and things and was very pleased to get my edugeek badges and some more animals for my animal shelf - an owl (thanks @BKGarry ) a lion, a teddy, a bee @BKGarry again) and something else I can't remember. @X-13 also gave me stuff too, bless
  12. I have recently done a driver awareness course (whoops) and the trainers stated that you MUST NOT TOUCH your mobile phone whilst you are driving, OR IF THE ENGINE IS ON - even if it is just to hit a button. Hands-free is OK but that is all. You WILL get done if you are seen to touch your phone. Doesnt matter if you are stopped in traffic. Or even parked if the engine is still on. You shouldn't even touch the phone to turn it if you are using it as a satnav on the seat next to you.
  13. Thanks SWGfL don't block it - will report
  14. Thanks Arthur - stupid me - remoting in to server reduced window size and I couldnt see the word "edit"
  15. @BKGarry we have to get one of these each
  16. We have just re-numbered all our classrooms which means the WAP names need to be changed in Zone Director. I cannot see how to do this - I'm sure it is super obvious, but not to me...
  17. 23 out of 70 laptops not plugged in this morning. That's why we still have an IT suite
  18. ..and bags..don't forget bags
  19. Thanks, but we are only looking at the free stuff
  20. Microsoft Office365 and Sharepoint That's it apart from looking at the shiny shiny
  21. that's cool Isnt is odd playing with rotary valves? The movement is very different - sort of sideways rather than up and down. I struggle with the other sort if i pick up one of those brass instruments (*shudder)
  22. Rotary valves do indeed need rotary valve oil. Ive never seen a tuba with rotary valves - can we see a pic?
  23. What day is this?
  24. You can get a decent chinese made student horn for under a grand now. But a good quality one is around 2k and a post-student one is upwards of 5K Got my main horn second hand from someone about to go to music school so he was upgrading to a professional model Horns aren't as heavy but a pain to hold throughout a long symphony. American players rest the bell on their knee. They often play Conns which have larger bells. It annoys me when I see the saxes have their fancy neck straps! You can get a "pipstick" for a horn but they are expensive and you have to have it personally fitted
  25. Presumably a lot cheaper than a brass one?
