  1. Turns out a friend I walked dogs with yesterday has a sick husband who works with someone who may well have it..and she feels ill this morning. So I am going to have to go - after I have finished building a new laptop. Cant do much from home - boss has manager password so I could give him instructions on what to do if I know the answer to a problem I suppose
  2. EU not closed to UK citizens though @mikeprice - you need a clear statement from the FO that you SHOULD NOT travel to the country before most insurances will pay up (ps - can you learn where the apostrophe is please - if you use another semi-colon where it should be an apostrophe I may have to go all amphibian on your "£$%£$) - - - Updated - - - I also fall into the "should get a flu vaccine" category. Hmmmm
  3. First annoying thing - woke up at 5.30 worrying about pregnant daughter-in-law who is now very scared Went into work early - left house at 7.04. Would normally take 11 minutes Due to an accident and various road closures, took me 1 HOUR!!! Most of which was spent crawling one way, around a roundabout and back the other way..Yay! Second annoying thing: EU closing borders would definitely mean we would get a refund on our holiday. BUT they have exempted UK citizens
  4. Daughter's friend probably can't get married at all as wife to be is from the US
  5. TBH the cost of the flights is nothing compared with the rest of the holiday
  6. Greece - our holiday destination - has now said that we would have to self-isolate for 14 days if we went. We are only going for 11 days. Easyjet have cancelled the flight I cannot get through to our insurers but i am really worried that they will weasel out of it. The policy docs state that cancellation is either illness or the FO's advice not to go to Greece. The FO havent said that yet. I am praying to the goddess that they will, and soon
  7. Sad news already for a local small business - one of our TAs does dog walking and boarding as her other job. I noticed her house is up for sale and she told me that the business has fallen off a cliff in the last month and she has very few bookings ahead. She has made a decision to shut the business as the insurance costs are huge.
  8. @Jobos I would contact your wife's doctors and get an updated opinion on what she should do. I can't imagine they will say anything other than don't go to work. Ditto you because of your health and indeed that of your son. Stay away and hopefully you will feel a bit less worried. Good luck
  9. I think you have to create specific groups in Teams rather than trying to get it to use O365groups
  10. Holiday in Greece in 3 weeks is going to be so much fun with all the sites we wanted to see closed, and probably most of the restaurants etc as well. We are looking into moving it all into the summer - not ideal as Greece will be very hot at that point and we are both fair and easily burned. And of course coronavirus may well still be a problem at that point Unless the FCO says we can't go, we can't get a refund EVEN IF GREECE CLOSES ITS BORDERS, leaving us with no way of getting there. It was an expensive holiday and we cannot afford to lose the money Looks like my Concert Band's next two concerts will be cancelled and probably the Rusties series (where you get to play with members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra) as well. Both of which I love and are highlights of my year My school apparently sent out an email to all parents re the coronavirus. I have no idea what it said as the staff didnt get a copy. As an elderly person who has asthma, I'm thinking maybe I should just self-isolate. For long enough to paint the hallway anyway! Other schools seem to be doing different things. The local special school, with many children with highly compromised immune systems, hasnt closed. My daughter-in-laws school has sent vulnerable children home and has decided that if they do close, they will do a phased closure starting with Nursery - no idea why. Ceo of mrwITch's (and son no 2) company has told them to work from home - whereupon son 2's boss told them to come in anyway - hell no was the answer Son no 1 and daughter both work in design and cannot work from home as they need the specialist sofware. Also daughter's company sells kit to armies and countries and so has to be particularly secure.
  11. Sadly no go - default doesnt work it seems Some pdfs are still opening in edge Todays issue is that several people - some very trustworthy - swear that they saved the pdf and clicked "open with" Acrobat Reader DC and they still didnt print Arrrggghhhhhh
  12. Onward Was just a sweet little, entirely predictable film
  13. Disabling is fine for me atm
  14. In the end the MAT techs did it via User Config, Admin Templates, Windows Components, Attachment Manager, Do not preserve zone info and Inclusion lists. That didnt come up at all on my mad googling - sometimes you just go down the wrong rabbit hole...
  15. Well, I've added it - we shall see
  16. Since our new Windows 10 image at half term, everyone is being driven mad by the security warning about opening a file when either a browser or an application on the server is accessed. Everyone has a redirected desktop. The change from our last Windows 10 image is that we are now on local profiles with everything redirected rather than roaming. Can someone help with a group policy to stop the warning in all cases? I've gone down a rabbit hole on Google but there seem to be lots of methods - both user and computer -and I am not sure which one to use
  17. I have a file associations policy pointing at something in netlogon but it doesnt look anything like yours and doesnt mention Acrobat.
  18. @themightymrp Thanks - edge now in the list but I cant find the setting you speak of? I need to STOP it opening pdfs btw
  19. Sorry - my mistake - what I want is for them to NEVER default to edge because it breaks our photocopiers It's been a long couple of days
  20. I seem to have it but I didnt understand the rest Do I extract it first?
  21. @themightymrp Where do I want to extract them to though?
  22. If others have exactly the same computer - can you swap hers with another one and see if she still complains? Sounds to me as if she just has unreasonable expectations of an 8 year old computer
  23. @themightymrp Microsoft Edge isnt in that list for us
  24. It has got creepier as the season went on though. Mind you, I've always been terrified of Cybermen
