  1. I get my boards from Hugh Symons Dont know if they do refurbs https://www.hughsymonsav.com/ Very helpful company.
  2. and just costs..not an option at present
  3. Finally got to see a hedgehog - we disturbed one that was sleeping in an old bucket under some bits and pieces in my sister's garden. He wasn't pleased and when we went back an hour or so later, he had gone. But at least we saw him (or her)
  4. I know at some point we attempted to do the AD sync thing and it failed but I have no info on that attempt atm. Thanks for the info- I will have a look and see if it makes any sense to me. Paying out, however little, is not something we can do at the moment so it will have to be me that does this stuff
  5. I have been asked to create Office 365 accounts for all the pupils - is there a way to import data from SIMS to do this please?

    Dell/Lenovo Laptops

Absolutely disagree with this. I have been buying refurbed Lenovos from ICT direct for both work and home for years - and have NEVER had any issues with them. Solid, dependable kit IMHO
  7. I can save as a pdf - which converter to a PowerPoint would people recommend. Preferably free with a large page limit!
  8. Yes but where from - wouldn't trust ebay
  9. Yes, I did that last time. Actually it is 13 quid a month Nowhere near the end of contract now though. I dont really want to go SIM only as I love a new phone! I could have got a cheaper deal but not with a halfway decent phone - not a top of the range or anything, just an Honor
  10. That includes the phone though
  11. You can download the maps so that they are available offline. As for WhatsApp - it is the best thing ever for me - we have a family group and I have a friends group and it is lovely to be able to see what my children are up to, and watch them interacting and joking with each other, as well as posting pics of flowers etc for my friends.
  12. I do have a smartphone but I have my mobile data switched off (I don't have much) unless I am on holiday or need it for maps when out walking the dog. At home I use it for WhatsApp and other messaging platforms. I rarely use it for anything else, as I am either at home or work using wifi It costs me £15 a month and that's fine
  13. A big magnifier that sits on the screen? There are lots for reading that I am sure you could adapt and fix to a screen
  14. If anyone could share this I would be very grateful
  15. Welcome to you all Draw up a chair, have a virtual hobnob and join us
  16. Happy Birthday Edugeek! I've been with you for nearly all of those years and I have to say, I couldn't have done it without you!
  17. @mrstrong FitnessBlender do loads of yoga/pilates based routines and they also have stand-alone warm ups and cool downs. Joe Wicks isnt great - his form isn't that good and he doesnt do complimentary back exercises to go with the stomach stuff
  18. Sticking to my 5 times a week exercise routine but have upped it a bit - I chose a 4 week plan that has "extra credit challenges" after each routine meaning that the completed thing takes up to around an hour. Also keeping up the long dog walks and have tried to make sure I go out for an extra walk with mrwITch every evening. Definitely lost weight and gained muscle but I don't ever weigh myself so I have no idea of the numbers. More difficult to fit it all in now I am back at work but I am going to try
  19. My daughter and her fiance have just found out that their beloved rescue dog needs 2 new hips at a cost of £11,000 They have had dreadful luck in the last couple of years - her car was written off by a drunk driver and she ended up around £500 out of pocket. Their new kitchen was flooded and cost more to rebuild than it had in the first place. (insurance only paid the cost of the original flooring etc as they didnt have a new-for-old policy) The wall of the house started leaking and cost several thousand to mend. One of their cars failed catastrophically and needed a lot of money to fix They have used all their savings that were earmarked for their wedding next year Now they find that their dog, Vala, is in constant pain and needs new hips really soon. She is a Romanian rescue and was found at a very early age dumped at a bus stop in a dreadful state. They have started a gofundme as they cant face having the dog put down which would be the only viable alternative other than a life in constant pain for her. https://gf.me/u/x7bhkv They don't want to beg for money but cannot think of any other way. They will try for a bank loan, we can lend them a bit, but there will probably be a shortfall. I dont expect anyone to donate but if you have ever had a beloved animal that was in pain, would you mind sharing this page on social media? Apart from being incredibly grateful to those who have donated, they are hoping that maybe it might come to the attention of someone who can help - a charity, a philanthropist, anything! Thank you
  20. TBH i think he was just sick and tired of all the contradictory directives coming from government!
  21. If I have to go into a classroom the teacher moves the front row of children wherever they can go safely - this may be out into the corridor. I carefully point out that I am asthmatic and they are all very good
  22. I absolutely wouldnt accept that. Dont let them get away with it. If you are moving around the school you need it more than the class based staff do TBF the HT has said that if we run out of hand gel and he cant get any more - it's difficult ATM apparently - he will close the school
  23. If you do receive a call - surely you can only give the names of people you KNOW you have been in contact with? And if for whatever reason you have been breaking the rules - even a little bit - maybe meeting one more person than you should, are you going to admit it? As for "people will self-isolate if asked" Some people who cannot afford to have even a week on sick pay only may well not do so. There won't be enough police to go around knocking on doors to check
  24. Started watching Snowpiercer on Netflix - has potential I think Also Lincoln Rhyme - doesnt stick to the bone collector books but quite good. Still watching Lucifer - now moved from Amazon to Netflix
