Three Things about Elsie Joanna Cannon Very touching story about the residents, and specifically one lady, of warden assisted flats. The storyline revolves around something that happened in her past and a new resident. Sounds boring but it is really well written, there is humour and pathos and the end may make you cry

Our local testing centre looks fairly busy but apparently it is the lab processing time that is the issue -

My sister runs choirs and she is seriously thinking of having meetings in the local pub where she can have a group of 6 in one place, a group of 6 in another and so on. If we can all get it again and have NO symptoms - so no tests done - the answer is for the people who shielded to go back to it and the rest of us wear masks everywhere if you are within say 2 metres of a building. So not for example if I was out on the heath walking the dog unless I can see someone coming towards me I have an issue with people not wearing masks in shops - but in my case it is the people who work there. Surely they need to protect us and themselves too - I realise a mask is not comfy but maybe at least a visor? -

Hi All I am currently setting up a small business writing technical CVs and helping people to figure out what to say in cover letters etc. I will need some testimonies as to my abilities. I can't remember who I helped and more specifically, those who got a new job because of the CV I wrote or other help I gave. I shall put it on my LinkedIn profile so if anyone can see me, please comment. Those who can't please PM for my LinkedIn name etc if you would like to help. thanks all Witch

Anyone know if and when Salvation is back? Anyone recommend another "cop against the baddies" type show? What is Sinner like? it's odd - we have almost never watched this sort of thing but we are really enjoying it

I think the point being made was that some people ARE getting a pay rise (whether they be teachers or what) and some are not. You are right, it isnt connected to the COVID-19 situation at all but it is understandable that people who have been in and working every single day throughout the lockdown might feel a little bit raw about it when many teachers have only had to be in on a rota basis. Personally I feel teachers work hard and deserve a payrise. BUT so do other school staff and there seems to be no way for us to make our point If you feel this is teacher bashing, I am sorry. edugeek is a space where people can offload their problems and I'm afraid that for educational IT, those problems are often teacher related. Not always, of course, but you must have read enough posts to feel and understand the frustration. We do try to allow people to let off steam but we do keep an eye on things -

@LeMarchand When you wear a scarf as a face covering, I do hope you will wear your hat too! -
just watched this and enjoyed it. Loved all the songs too. Did perhaps feel that Sigrit looked a bit young really though!

You are all going off on wider tangents! The OP would like some advice on what to do, now this minute. Bigger purchases, whilst probably the right way to go, are not something he can consider at the moment I know you clever lot can help - so please do

Even with 1M distance it would be very hard for my school to take any more children in. Classes of 33 in small rooms
