1. In terms of mailbox and shared groups no we have nothing left on site its all been migrated over, so I should just be able to delete the databases from EAC? since nothing uses them anymore
2. After migrating all accounts from exchange 2013 to O365 I was expecting hard drive storage on my on-premises server to go down Does anyone know if it will start deleting after the 30 day retention policy or will the data stay on there permanently? I am wanting to stick our on premises server to a virtual server but not at the 3TB its currently at
3. I take it you are talking about them adding single recipient emails addresses in manually, because if its groups of recipients they are spamming you could just easily setup a rule for that I have a user group called 'all students' which obviously all students are a member of, I have setup a rule that when a member from this group tries to email the 'all students' group the email is directed to my inbox for accept or reject authorisation first, I then have the ability to sanction the student based on its content before rejecting it Then a secondary rule instantly rejecting emails sent from anyone within the all students group to any staff based group like the 'finance team' for example This at least elimanates most of the spammy type of emails sent by students
4. So I have migrated over to office365 and first thing I spotted was I was no longer able to open other peoples mailbox's in OWA, after a bit or research I found this powershell script: Get-Mailbox -ResultSize unlimited -Filter {(RecipientTypeDetails -eq 'UserMailbox') -and (Alias -ne 'Admin')} | Add-MailboxPermission -User [email protected] -AccessRights fullaccess -InheritanceType all seemed to work great, I could now access peoples mailbox's through my own OWA account When I then tried to open my outlook client 2016 its just stuck on loading profile, finally got in running only to see that every single mailbox is now on my left hand column of outlook as an additional account, this causes my outlook desktop app to crash I have tried to reverse the script with : Get-Mailbox -ResultSize unlimited -Filter {(RecipientTypeDetails -eq 'UserMailbox') -and (Alias -ne 'Admin')} | Remove-MailboxPermission -User [email protected] -AccessRights fullaccess -InheritanceType all however it seems to do very little in terms of completing successfully Can anyone suggest a way of removing additional mailboxs from my outlook 2016 client? have tried removing profile its loads fine first time but then tries to load all the mailboxs again second time
5. Edit I have managed to get the .v6 folder to just show the tiledatalayer folder now under appdata\local however my start menu has just gone back to the "Life at a glance" layout Are you all redirecting the start menu and app data folders in the folder redirection GPP? Mine are currently set to not configured/use local profile location
6. Followed all the above with no joy, for me the TileDataLayer folder just doesn't appear in the .v6 profile folder
7. It definitely wont be a SFC issue on a fresh build - everyone on the MS forums jumps on that bandwagon just to get voted as answered At the moment this is what i'm trying: 1) Try making sure the GPO for classic menu is disabled 2) rename your file to LayoutModification.xml 3) redirect the start menu folder to local user profile As this issue is only on certain machines I have to wait for access to reboot some PC's before i can verify the above works
8. Upgraded to windows 10 over the holidays, everything was working fine yesterday with a start menu xml file I rolled out, today people are losing the right hand panel of the start menu with all the customised icons I put in there Any advice as google just gives results of missing tiles themselves however I am missing the entire panel
9. If I came to our SLT with such a plan they would all look at me with blank faces - needs to be simple and to the point, like explaining it to a 5 year old
10. Looking at migrating to windows 10 from 7 and wanted to know if anyone who has done something similar has ran the decision through SLT Have confirmed with business manager to go ahead but he wanted something to present to SLT to approve the merge
11. Great feedback, I have already got the process started, OpenReach engineers came to fit the new fibre yesterday but had to stop as a tree root had collapsed their underground trunking. Was pretty cool watching them use a borescope camera to identify to blockage, needs to get me one of those!
12. Good call but it happens for both staff and students, staff have access to youtube
13. tried it, happens on almost every machine plus we cant expect students to do that
14. Even though our users are signed in to google drive and can also access all other apps, whenever they try log into drive it just comes stuck as a "YOU ARE NOT SIGNED IN" loop Can anyone suggest a fix?
15. Yeah they said they can sort us out with smoothwall boxes when the time comes, its set in stone now we are going with Exa for our P2P link in June already handed in notice to Virgin, unfortunately we have another 2 years left on our two internet break out circuits though

17. From the FTTC i'm using a procurve 5400 series switch at each end, the two ports are configured to their own separate vlan which route to the subnet of the opposite site they are on before going out to their own gateway, all I had to do then was configure DHCP on each site to use the core procurve switches as the gateway instead of smoothwall. For three years its been running uninterrupted and serving sims SQL data along with exchange and network shares without any sort of glitch or speed issues

19. Recently we added staff photos to ad so that they show up in outlook Some students have started screenshotting and editing the pictures Is there any way I can still show the pictures pane for staff but block for students?
20. Our LA are charging £24k for our three lines, Exa in comparison are just under £12k for a likewise service, but we have to source our own smoothwall boxes
21. Who else are you looking at? Thing is they seems to be pioneering DarkLight, of which one of my sites is just 50 meters away from the line
22. We are thinking of moving our internet services away from our LA and going with exa networks we run 2 x 100mb leased lines and a 1gb point to point link between two buildings a mile apart form each other their prices are almost half the cost of our LA! Has anyone use Exa before that can share their experience good or bad?
23. Did anyone figure this out without going premium? maybe through powershell for azure?
