Morning all, I'm trying to setup Moodle with SSO on Ubuntu server, when I select the option I get : it kicks me out and sets me back to the login page, I have LDAP working as authentication outside of my network works fine and have also managed to bind SAMBA to my AD has anyone experienced this problem? how did you resolve?

even in chrome it just forwards to the setup.aspx page with This Webpage is not available Any ideas? EDIT: o.k i removed the s from http and am able to continue now with the setup

getting a http 500 error as soon as I edit the web.config file to remove the IIS8 settings as instructed from the video! Any advice? My server is 2012 R2 with sharepoint installed - only thing I have done differently is install within the sharepoint folder as the default site couldn't co-exist with the port 80 sharepoint installation, I also tried shanging the default site to port 81 but came up with the same error as soon as I modified the web.config file as instructed to on the video

Hi everyone, just wanting to know what you guys are using for students to remotely access student files. We currently use a sharepoint webpart similar to salamanders solution, however I'm ditching sharepoint (with the exception of running SLG) and moving over to moodle on a virtual Ubuntu server for our VLE platform, I know moodle has a SMB block plugin to access network shares however I'm interested to know if some of you have a more direct way of accessing network shares and home folders via remote login through a browser

we use Sophos but the problem happens before a PSD file is even created, also it doesn't happen with us when we are logged in using the same antivirus setup

both installed and runs slow on both versions, when I mean slow its painfully slow - I'm thinking possibly something to do with scratch disks or the appdata folder - been tweaking both without much success

Just building a new 2012 server with SQL 2012 for our new sims database this September (we are re-opening the school under a new DFE). I've been looking at the disk benchmarks and comparing old server with DELL MD3000i SAN to our new server which has RAID 10 (4 x 146GB 15k SAS with hot spare) These are the results: On the left is the old SQL server with SAN and right is New SQL server, the new SQL server is 10x faster on smaller file and 26x faster on larger files for read but the write speed lags by 3x behind until 64kb where it gets up to 3x faster at 8Mb files No question that reading our new sims database will be blisteringly fast in comparison to the old one but I'm concerned about the write speed at smaller files. Does anyone know what sort of data sizes SIMS writes back at? Will this decrease at smaller files have much of a performance impact when taking registers?

Hi Michael, sorry for late reply but yes you where right - reverse DNS and Zone transfers where not setup properly on our first two DC's - they have been recently upgraded to 2012 and I must've thought this should have been migrated over so overlooked checking it The issue was still not resolved but I'm now going down another path, we have 2 sites on our network with 4 DC's - when I modified the GP for this image to appear I did it at site 2, looking at the GP on site 1 DC which is the site we are having an issue with I can see it still had the same old location, so I checked the event logs for DFS replication and sure enough every night at 10pm (when backups kick in) we get a event ID 2213, so I did the Microsoft fix in article Changes that are not replicated to a downstream server are lost on the upstream server after an automatic recovery process occurs in a DFS Replication environment in Windows Server 2008 R2 and replication started working and as of last night the warning didn't appear - just waiting to see for the next few days now if our ugly blue standard windows 7 login background is replaced by our school branded one thanks again for your advice and help

I've been having issues with a few new intel board based PC's i've deployed. I receive reports of network slowness and run wireshark and notice millions of packets for ICMPv6 Multicast Listener Report. I attempted to unbind IPv6 from the adapter as well as run the MS fixit tool to completely disable ipv6 on these machines to no avail, our GPO is also set to disable IPV6 and its functionalities across the whole network I tried removing the intel management software to see if this may be causing it, but that didn't seem to help. I suspect this is some function of the Intel NICs installed in these PCs, but I'm at a loss as to how to manage or disable it! I've contacted intel and they are not willing to accept any blame that its their nic card at fault

our domain is baeda.local and yes DNS works fine, really stumped! Am moving the files over to our file server and running them from there instead which is not what I wanted as it means its a singular location and therefore not correctly sharing the load for this file

We brand our windows 7 client login screen with some custom made background however since changing the GPO from copying the file from domain names ie. \\domain.local\netlogon\xxxxx its stopped working if we do it from \\dc01\netlogon\xxxx (of domain controller) it works however I want the machine to pikup the info from the first available domain controller is there something stopped the clients from picking up the domain.local url prelogin?

How much do they pay per year? What speed of connection do they have? Which ISP do they use? I've phoned around 5 so far according to BT business site - all have scratched their heads and not got back to me yet a week later!

we almost have line of site, there are some trees in the way hence why we would need a 10-15m radio tower at each site - they apparently survived hurricane Katrina so and go up to 5 miles so I think they will be reliable enough for us if we can get the planning permission for the towers

Yes this is just for SIMS, we have a solution in place already for everything else (we are currently on a single domain) as you've listed however I need a mission critical dedicated solution for our MIS

In September 2014 we are going to close both our catholic Bradford schools and re-open as one school operating on a split site, KS3 on one site and KS4 + 6th form on the other. The schools are 1.2 miles away from each other and I am wondering if there is anyone on here who operates an MIS system in a similar scenario (we use SIMS) - the solutions I have been looking at so far and their disadvantages are: Cloud based database - Data held offsite, relies on our internet connection VPN with backup adsl - One site will suffer slow connectivity, reliable on internet connection Ubiquiti Airfiber - requires radio mast at each site (planning permission involved) Dark Fiber lease - about £7k per year in line rental Install new dedicated fibre - need to dig up the road, estimated cost £60k-£80k Any advice would be appreciated
