Moodle is already hosted on a poweredge 2900 along with our intranets and library MLS system, i'm quite sold on the birchfield stuff, is anyone else using this?? I've broken moodle and fixed it so many times during the early setting up days that I kind of know it inside out, And after speaking to the bursar we are under the presumption that this is a one off budget and we possibly may not be getting any further funding next year so need to stretch every penny, which is as always in this place!

Hi guys & gals, we have been told we have £10k to spend on a VLE,- I already setup moodle myself onsite which the teachers seem to be getting the hang of and it;s growing with free content daily, only other thing I can think of spending it on it LP contect such as birchfields VLE pack (frog system looks nice but price is out of the question!) am I missing something here considering the VLE budget?

have a look at kayako support suite with livesupport module, we use it here all 3 technicians can pick up a request to provide support via chat interface

PDF, print icons etc are under the parameters section of article manager (for global), when you click on the article itself to edit it you can change these further to be specific to that artucle under the parameters (advanced) section on the right hand side of the wsiwyg editor

Thanks guys, so am i correct in thinking if I put this anywhere in my httpd.conf it will allow only staff machines from my admin network to access the intranet? (My staff ip range is 10.11.224.x -10.11.231.x) i.e: Order deny,allow Deny from all Allow from 10.11.224.1/21 the schools website directory is in another folder in the root of htdocs so that shouldn't ask for authentication from anyone as it has to stay public, which is what I want. whats the coding for specifing passwords for the ? is there anyway I can authenticate using LDAP?

Hi guys, Wondering if anyone can advise how you combat this problem: I'm running within school a webserver on apache for our joomla school website and moodle, these can be accessed outside school to the public, I now want to re-do our staff intranet using joomla and run it on the same webserver, the setup i want is if someone was to browse to the intranet folder from outside the school I want an authentication box to appear to protect private information but not when the staff access it from within school. Does anyone have a same setup & how do you combat this issue?

has anyone had any joy with CVS on a windows server? i've been going through this guide : CVS for Administrators - MoodleDocs but everytime I click fetch list I get the following : connect to uk.cvs.moodle.org:2401 failed: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. Error, CVS operation failed I've opened port 2401 on our firewall for that server, and tried different locations (EU, US, ES) the es one did bring up a list once but then I couldn't get the branch or tag name list updated either Any help would be much appreciated been trying to get this to work for days now!

Hi folks, I have some students on XP clients trying to do a printscreen of a DVD movie and pasting into word, problem is when it's pasted the screenshot keeps playing the DVD as a movie and not as a still image, if you close media player the image stops playing also and you get a black picture within the screenshot. Have tried the video acceleration changes with no sucess has anyone lese come across this problem and managed to solve it without having to purchase software?

have you got a 3rd party peice of software which remotes all the machines like LANSCHOOL/NETOP? Maybe a teacher has scheduled the power on option?? shot in dark but worth a try!

Is it just me or does anyone else think capita are taking the mick with their support costs? Just got a quote from them today as my local sims support run out, it was £5500 for the basic package, thats up by over 50%! The latest FMS upgrade needs end of year VAT report file replacing after the upgrade which isn't mentioned in the accopmanying PDF, hence me needing support in the first place, 99 times out of 100 we wouldn't even need the support if they coded it right in the first place - me thinking some sort of scam going on here!

Hi guys, can anyone help me out here trying to install 2x thin client system when I boot on PXE it picks up the DHCP from the admin network, the client will be on my curriculam network (statically assigned IP's) of which I don't want them to have access to an admin IP, have tried in the past to setup both networks on DHCP but then got stuck when trying to figure out how to tell the client machine which DHCP server they should be pointing to, i'm on a windows 2003 enviroment with xp clients does anyone know if it's possible to specify which DHCP server IP a clients should direct to?
