    BETT 2023

I had an email today saying that badges will be sent to you 1 week before the event to save time queuing onsite. So seems will be the normal format where you can print on the day as well. The completed profile emails I would guess linked to 'Connect@BETT'
  2. Hi @gszech - thanks for your question -Verkada operate a Deal-Registration process so we're only able to discuss pricing with clients aligned to Net-Ctrl and not able to freely provide pricing - so whilst I can't be specific I believe you would be in that 2-3rd tier though to give an idea. The cameras all come with 10-year warranty on a guaranteed 48hr RMA. Video is stored onboard each device with retention options from 30-days to 365-days. You also get unlimited archiving of video to the cloud for record-keeping / investigative purposes. They do also send our trial kit - so if you would like to test it out send me a PM and I can ask one of our Verkada AMs to get in touch. Alternatively, CCTV will be discussed on this session and will be an opportunity to raise any questions.
  3. Join Net-Ctrl and Verkada on the 22nd March at 14.00 as we look at how schools can leverage technology to increase site security, detect vape, analyse air quality, and lean towards smart building management. We will be joined by Verkada’s Head of Solutions Engineering as we delve into the above with reference to the Verkada portfolio including: Hybrid-Cloud CCTV Access Control Door Intercom Vape and Environmental Sensors Visitor Management We will conclude the session with a Q+A. We estimate the main session to be around 25 minutes, plus additional time for the Q+A. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about Verkada’s portfolio and ask any questions. As a token of our appreciation, we will provide all attendees with a FREE Verkada YETI Mug, which you can either: Pick up from us at BETT (stand SF70) where we will have Verkada equipment on display, and solution experts available Provide us with a UK shipping address for it to be sent direct (please allow a few weeks You will receive an email after the session to process the above. 4. I haven't announced this session yet - should be on here later today/tomorrow- but we're due to run a webinar with Verkada on the 22nd of March that will cover their portfolio, including their vape detection - registration page is - https://verkada.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_CYFV6j6mR5msVluplXqjLA. We have got their Head of Solutions Engineering running the session which will include a Q+A. All attendees are also sent a YETI coffee cup, which are pretty cool as a freebie. A good opportunity to hear their approach - see how it compares to those others mentioned in this thread - and ask any questions.

  7. I complete the profile and listed the timings I would theoretically be available and confirmed/submitted the profile - which was a small box below the timetable. After doing that 2 days ago I haven't had an email reminder since - I was previously getting a few a day like you all. It could be a coincidence.
  8. I think more of a case of BETT looking for other opportunities to create more revenue streams - getting exhibitors directed down Connect@BETT as part of the package, but also to attract additional revenue by getting suppliers not exhibiting onboarded to the scheme. The meeting schedules are very hard to adhere to for supplier and visitor - it's very easy to lose track of time at shows like BETT and also work out the time it takes to find, and get to, the meeting location.
  9. I think someone at BETT mentioned it had been outsourced to another company - so perhaps they have KPIs to hit for participation. It is getting silly.
  10. We are a Verkada partner - so we can assist with the project if you would like us to. All of their work is done through a partner. This is sometimes left to the regional Verkada AM to work with someone they've used before. If you haven't worked/heard of Net-Ctrl - we have been working in EDU for 20 years - our experience extends to Wi-Fi, switching, firewalls, cabling etc so understand the wider network considerations rather than just being someone that can install them.
  11. Hi - just to confirm for you @psynegy: Verkada SV21 is the entry level on the new range. It monitors CO2, humidity and temp. Verkada SV23 is the mid-range. As well as above also monitors air quality, asset protection and vape. Verkada SV25 is the top tier model- also monitors air, motion and light (as well as above) You get 10 year warranty with all the above. All manufactured in the US. Demo/Trials also available for each one to try out before purchasing. They also run a lot of 1 on 1 sessions on the portfolio so you can find out more about their approach, deployment scenario etc.
  12. Hi - when are you looking to have the work completed? We do cabling installs - typically with hardware supply - but can do the cabling only. If you can let me know when and I will see if we have the capacity to complete the work. If we can fit it in - One of our team would need to visit your site to assess the environment, the runs and the approach in order to quote. Send me a PM if you would like to discuss further
  13. Hi all, I know we have run a number of sessions with Boxphish on EduGeek over the last 6 months, and off the back of these, we have run a lot of 1-on-1 demos. If you find yourself in a position where you would like to know more about cyber awareness/phishing simulation solutions, or Boxphish in particular - then please let me know and we can set up a 15-20 minute live demo/discussion. These are a great way to see the platform and ask any questions. Alternatively, if you would like some pricing beforehand we can also supply this upfront. Pricing requests have to go over to Boxphish so there is a short delay with this. Video links to previous sessions: Managing Cyber Security Risk in Education - https://www.net-ctrl.com/boxphish-webinar/ Enhancing Cyber Security Awareness - A Client's Perspective - https://www.net-ctrl.com/boxphish-webinar-a-clients-perspective/ Please let me know if you have any questions.
  14. That's how we got involved in CCTV and Access Control around 10 years ago - a lot of clients were struggling to find installers who stuck around and knew what they were doing. It was also a natural progression for us with our portfolio. Net-Ctrl started 20 years ago as a predominantly security company (firewalls, VPN etc) - we then grew into Wi-Fi and switched around 15 years ago. At that time we were outsourcing cabling, which we brought in-house, the cabling element then led to the CCTV/Access conversation. We still maintain the cyber/networking side of the business, which we still do a lot of work in - but the CCTV/Access is one area that has grown a lot over the last 5 years.
  15. Everything ICT framework is one of the frameworks that the DfE is recommending to use for CtC bids. There is another. CCS perhaps. I can't remember. For anyone wanting to go down the framework route - Net-Ctrl are on the Everything ICT framework after working with them last year to get approved/compliant.
  16. We can do CtC projects - there are a fair few suppliers on here as well that will also be happy to help you out. We can submit against Ruckus, Aruba and Cambium.

    BETT 2023

Connect@BETT is an add on to the main event - so you will still walk the exhibitions halls/stands as normal. The Connect@BETT gives attendees/exhibitors the opportunity to book in for particular slots. As an exhibitor, we had no option but to include it as part of the package this year. It would be a good option to get more focused time with a supplier(s) - or want a demo of a particular feature/platform as it could be prepped beforehand. I suppose it serves a purpose for people that want more structure to the day, or have limited time and want to make most of the time they have without having to wander the halls, whilst giving others the opportunity to do so on stands.
  18. Hello - just be mindful that the survey you have completed will only be correct for the AP/solution used to survey. Ideally, you would want a survey to be completed, at minimum a predictive survey, with the proposed AP(s) to confirm the location and count. Too many APs and you could congest your air, too few and you'll have blackspots. Aruba, Cambium and Unifi will all behave differently. Also, consider density in areas - review the AP maps coming through. Ideally, you don't want a single AP doing any more than 3 classrooms, 2 is usually a preference, but it will of course depend on your build environment and user load. Consider PoE budgets in areas across your sites as well. If you wanted to consider another brand, there is also Ruckus, that we can supply - but at this point you may be happy with what you're already looking at.
  19. Hi @dhicks - I'm not too sure if there will be a specific thread aligned to the Boxphish session. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or send them to me direct and I will get back to you
  20. Hi all - just to add the session we're doing with Ruckus will be about the fundamental technology of Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 as well as design considerations. This won't be specific to Ruckus. This will be relevant for anyone interested in Wi-Fi.
  21. Morning all - a recording of the webinar is available on-demand on our website - https://www.net-ctrl.com/boxphish-webinar-a-clients-perspective/
  22. We will be running the second episode of this series on the 07th of December at 11.00. More information available here - http://www.edugeek.net/forums/our-advertisers/230564-webinar-7th-december-enhancing-cyber-security-awareness-clients-perspective.html#post1976189 In short, this will be a clients perspective of cyber awareness training.
  23. On the 7th of December at 11am Net-Ctrl will be joined again by Boxphish and we will be speaking to an IT Manager from an all-primary academy trust in the West Midlands to find out why they decided to invest in cyber security awareness training and the difference it has made to their schools. Together we will; • Find out why they decided to invest in cybersecurity awareness training • Their experience with Boxphish, including the onboarding process and data extraction. • Discuss how staff members interacted and engaged with the training • Thoughts on the success of the training You can register to attend on Zoom: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_dghf5BK6SDqozBS-TMttaQ We had such a great turnout at the last event and we're really excited to further this conversation a little and get some thoughts from the client side of things. Will it be sales focused? No. The session is designed to educate and inform. It will be led by Kieran Howard at Net-Ctrl, and Alex Thomas, VP of Sales, at Boxphish who will be talking to an IT Manager who will lead the discussion. Is it relevant? Absolutely. Just take a look at the stats: Schools are currently the no.2 target for ransomware worldwide, with the average attack costing £274,000 83% of UK schools have experienced a cyber incident in the last year 93% increase in cyber-attacks targeting the UK’s education sector in the last 12 months 71% of schools which suffered an attack did so through downloading malware 83% of UK schools have experienced at least one security incident Who are Boxphish? Boxphish is a leading player in the Cyber Awareness Market, delivering interactive learning journeys and real-world phishing simulations to a broad range of clients every month, across a variety of industries. Courses are focused on a specific area of cybercrime, unpicking the way cybercriminals aim to infiltrate both individuals and organisations, and then outlining what can be done to mitigate that risk. The platform is fully customer-focused, with each module delivered in an engaging format, making it relatable and easy to put into practice. The Boxphish mission is simple: they want to make all users more cyber-aware. Some element of human error is present in over 90% of cyber-attacks, and they want to reduce this vulnerability, building the ultimate human firewall in its place. How do I register? Sign up via our landing page - https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_dghf5BK6SDqozBS-TMttaQ They will be recording the session, so even if you can’t attend it, if the subject is of interest, sign up to get a link to the recording. Are you going to spam me post-webinar? No. Your details will be used to provide access to the webinar, and for a post-session email. This will include the recording link and a request for any feedback, as well as a chance to engage further if you’d like to learn more about how Boxphish could work for your organisation. They will not store your details beyond the purpose of this session.
  24. Hi @Disease - just in case you weren't aware - Ruckus are also able to do compliant CtC bids. So if you've been happy with Ruckus that is another option.
  25. I have just Googled 'Hosted Leaders' and it seems to be the same as 'Connect' - perhaps just re-brand. Not too surprising if other people's experiences were the same, or similar, to yours. Hosted Leaders Programme: Brought to you by Bett and Learnit, the Hosted Leaders Programme is improved for Bett 2022 and will connect global school, university and government leaders with relevant and thoughtfully selected Education Solution Providers through carefully curated 1:1 meetings. Participating educator leaders identify challenges they are trying to overcome and products and services they are looking to source, and education solution providers request meetings with leaders who are actively searching for the products and services they deliver. No random meetings or forced connections, just high-quality conversations between two parties who are perfectly matched to do business. This invaluable initiative provides tangible ROI for all participants. The event has sold out for the previous three years, so book early to avoid missing out.
