  1. And it's across multiple VM hosts, each on different hardware.
  2. I'm using the summer holidays to upgrade my servers to 2022 (I still don't fully trust 2025 yet!). I'm using the latest July ISO from MS. Some have gone through fine, some get to 19% and then stay there. I left them for around 15 hours! They are currently on 2019. Some I've made sure have all the latest windows updates applied before attempting the upgrade, some I haven't. Rebooted first. Makes no difference. They're all VMs in a Hyper-V environment. Any suggestions? Had a Google and not found much.......
  3. So we've been pushing out the old version of the Chrome extension, and now obviously we want to push out the new one. Is it as simple as just changing the address in the “Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions” policy, or do I need to create a whole new policy?
  4. We migrated from onsite Exchange up to M365 a year or so ago. We've recently started seeing a lot of emails from parents going in to staff's "Junk Email" folder which has resulted in some being missed. Now we could whitelist every single email address of our parents however that would mean that we are essentially saying that any email we ever receive from a parent is safe, which isn’t necessarily the case of course. If a parent’s email account is compromised, we could very easily receive viruses/malware/phishing emails from them which we are ‘trusting’ (obviously we have AV running locally on the device which you'd like to think would also prevent nastiness!). I think this is going to have to come down to staff checking their Junk folder. If they then mark the email as “Not Junk”, M365 would still be checking them for viruses etc. and quarantine it before it gets to the staff inbox, but so long as M365 decides it is safe then it will deliver that email to the staff members inbox instead of their Junk folder from then on? I check the quarantine regularly and discuss with staff where ones look legitimate and then release them accordingly, but we can’t centrally check people’s Junk folders. Or is there a better way......?
  5. How do you get to the member list now? Apologies if it's obvious, but I am a bloke so you know I'm not going to see things that are right in front of me!
  6. Obviously not IT related, but does anyone have any risks assessments, evac plans or anything else they'd be prepared to share?
  7. Hi all, We have a student joining us in September who has incredibly poor eyesight. We have been advised to give her an iPad and then share the teacher's screen so that she can see it on the iPad and zoom in etc. The issues I'm having with this are; We can't trust the teachers to share their entire desktop. Not because they aren't trustworthy, just because people make mistakes and if they are sharing their screen, freeze the TV for the rest of the class and then open SIMS/Email/whatever, it could be inappropriate for the student viewing the shared screen to see it. Any screen sharing software I've looked at which shares a particular window can't handle the fact that when you run a PowerPoint slideshow, it actually opens the slideshow in a new window. This means that if the teachers shares PowerPoint and then runs the slideshow, the student viewing what was shared still sees PowerPoint, rather than the slideshow which is now showing for everyone else. If they run the slideshow before sharing, it runs full screen so the teacher then can't see the sharing software anymore to share the slideshow. Hope that all makes sense! Feels a bit waffly..... Ideally they could connect to the TV itself as the will then always see what the rest of the class sees, but not all of our TVs can do that. Anyone got any tips please? Stuart
  8. Could the server be resolving DNS incorrectly? If it's seeing a name of a device which had the IP instead of the name of the device which now has it, that might explain it? I don't know, just guessing!
  9. @SIMS_Customer_Support - Can you confirm?
  10. So we just run the same patch as we did last week? I assume something else has changed somewhere meaning we won't be re-running them again next week?
  11. I'd rather it was fixed properly than quickly.
  12. Just got this; Due to Google’s upcoming changes, the current version of EdPro—which is based on Chrome’s Manifest V2—will no longer be supported on Chromebooks or Chrome extensions once browsers update to Chrome version 139, expected to release on August 5, 2025. To continue using EdPro after this update, you’ll need to transition to our new EdPro client. If you're using a self-hosted setup, a server update will also be required. The new client is built to comply with Google’s Manifest V3requirements. When will the new EdPro be available? The rollout of the new EdPro client is planned in two phases: Early Access: June 6, 2025 A limited release will be available for early adopters who want to begin testing and deploying the new client. Full Release: July 4, 2025 The new EdPro client will be fully available for all customers. This version is ready for widespread deployment and includes support documentation and updates aligned with Google’s ManifestV3 requirements.

  14. We have a 1GB network and everyone stores their files on a server. We're going to be moving to a 1GB Internet, which is the same as the LAN speed, so does it need to sync? Can't it just open files on request as currently happens over the LAN? - This is the native OneDrive/MS stuff I'm asking about.....
  15. Yeah, I wasn't sure if the March 2025 one might be so new that issues haven't been found with it yet!
  16. I have two DCs. One is 2019, the other is still 2016! Obviously I want to upgrade and hope to over Easter. Am I best going to 2022 instead of 2025 atm? If 2022, there's an "Updated March '25" download available. Is that safe, or do I go to the 2022 which was released in 2021?
  17. Morning, I'm after a report or something which will list each lesson of the week and all the teachers who aren't teaching each lesson. Possible? SIMS .net Thank you Stuart
  18. I can't enter a hash symbol?
  19. Speak to @Net-Ctrl
  20. Thanks for this, however it doesn't at the moment because;
  21. Yes it is, but that doesn't show which devices are up to date and more importantly, which aren't.
  22. Sorry, I mean updates and patches which update Office 2024 when MS fix bugs etc. WSUS can't do it, so how do people distribute them and then keep an eye on which ones are falling behind with security patches.
  23. How are people managing Office 2024 Updates?
  24. And today it's working. I've changed nothing.......
