  1. The dock is box-fresh and the cable is a replaceable module rather than an ordinary usb-c to c cable, so it seems highly unlikely it's that.
  2. OK, I've just tried it, and the change of USB-C mode in BIOS makes no difference. Changing VRAM from 32mb (min) to 512mb (max) allows me to select 2 monitors at 1680x1050 and one at 1280x720, but the one at 1280x720@50hz is so flickery it's unusable. It doesn't allow a change to 60hz, so whilst on paper it's better, in use it's not. Anyone else?
  3. Laptop and dock are fully updated... the 2x 22" are both connected on DP the 21.5 is on HDMI, but it doesn't seem to matter what connection method I chose, one of the monitors is stuck at 800x600, it isn't always the same one. If I connect each to the laptop itself (1x HDMI out) I get the full resolution of the additional monitor.
  4. I'll check that out later - if I try faffing with this users desk setup again today after 2 hrs on Friday and an hour this morning, I think she will either cry, scream, brain me with the nearest heavy object, or all 3.
  5. Yeah, this is a tester with 2 users to see if it's a feasible way of working for SLT and honestly, at the moment, after only 2 days trying, it's a no! The other user has the same equipment minus the 3rd L215 monitor and it's hit and miss whether the 2nd L2215 connects at 1280x720 or 1680x1050.
  6. Ok, either my Google Fu, or my understanding is failing me here... I have a user who is swapping from a desktop with 3 monitors to a laptop with a dock and 3 monitors. We can't get the 3 monitors to work acceptably. The hardware is: An HP 840 G5 (https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05903000#AbT7) A Dell WD19S USB-C dock (https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-uk/dell-wd19s-130w-dock/wd19s_user_guide/setup-of-external-monitors?guid=guid-2012dd96-1da9-4c70-ad24-0089516c9973&lang=en-us) 2x Lenovo L2251 monitors (https://www.ibm.com/common/ssi/rep_ca/5/877/ENUSZG09-0755/ENUSZG09-0755.PDF) Max: 1680x1050 1x Lenovo L215P (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/monitors-and-projectors/lcd-monitors/l215p-wide-flat-panel-monitor) Max: 1920x1080 Also Connected to the Dock - Gigagbit Network, USB 2 KB, USB 2 Mouse, USB 2 Barcode Printer. I suspect it's a bandwidth issue, but I can't work out a configuration that works. Here's what's happening. Connect the dock to the laptop, lid open: *All monitors are detected, the L215 is detected as a 4th monitor and is disabled. *Built in display is 1920x1080 1xL2251 is connected at 1680x1050, 1xL2251 is connected at 1280x720 but can be changed manually to 1680x1050 Close the lid: *The L215 monitor is enabled but only connects at 800x600, this is the only resolution available. *1x L2251 is connected at 1680x1050 1x L2251 is connected at 1600x1000 this resolution can be changed down but not up and 1680x1050 disappears as an option. The latest graphics drivers are installed, the latest dock firmware is installed. Help.
  7. Canon direct here... I'm no longer experiencing issues with toners, but there has been a noticeable delay in ordering service parts like drums and dev units to the service engineers. It used to be that as long as the engineer put an order in before 2pm he'd have it next day before midday, we're now looking at minimum 48hrs for standard service items like drums & transfer belts and up to a week for more obscure items like motors, dev units and plastics.
  8. Will they Neverware?
  9. What's the actual error? Are you a Smoothwall site? Does it appear to let you sign in and then at the end of the process give you an NXDomain error?
  10. For the purposes of day to day usage, Windows 11 is essentially a theme pack. It's not, but the changes are almost entirely cosmetic from an end user point of view.
  11. https://www.ensign-net.co.uk/about/contact-ensign/ for network install & wifi https://www.cpsgroup.co.uk/contact/ for AV install.
  12. I think that's set under contracts -> + (to edit) -> roles tab **EDIT Nearly, but not quite... It's contracts, but EITHER: double click an existing contract -> roles tab and add/edit the role. OR... + a new contract -> fill in all the details -> then save the contract and then double click the one you've just created to change roles and pay details.
  13. It's worth asking Vodafone about this as they've done some insanely good 4g deals - their unlimited 4g plan which is £33 a month to the public for £9 a month for education.

    Stone AIO PCs

Not been a customer for a few years, but the machines were excellent when I did use them and their warranty service was exceptional. I've never bought laptops so can't comment on them. We had around 500 Stone desktops and about 100 AIO at the time, we had a few power supplies go, but that was the extent of the issues.
  15. Mailgun for some stuff, AWS for other stuff. Our MAT set up AWS so I'm not 100% on that. It works beautifully though.
  16. Are they in the public user profile desktop folder? Can you just script an on-logon or on-startup deletion of eveything in that folder?

    My Dell App

If you do a get-appxpackage -allusers and find the name of the package, and then issue: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Where PackageFullName -eq {PackageFullName} | Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers subbing in the full name of the app it should then remove it for everyone. Unless it's a provisioned app - then the thing above is the ticket.

    It's a thing... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/227644-shortcuts-stopped-working.html
  19. We use a wireless USB conference mic and a Tenvis 120 degree webcam. Both less than £50 off Amazon.
  20. We got an email from Canon to let us know the situation and how to bypass the non-genuine cartridge prompt. We're still getting cartridges through without chips, but they're probably only 1 in 3 or 4 now.
  21. I'll be honest I've not tried via SSH/TFTP. I'll give it a go.
  22. I followed an upgrade path that was published on one of the HP forums. It worked for 5 out 8 of the switches, but 3 won't have it. They all updated to a certain point, I can't recall exactly what, possibly a September 2016 release still needing Java, and then 5 went all the way to the latest available patch at the time which I think was one from 2019 to prevent high-CPU-reboots which didn't require Java. I'm not super fussed now the issue has been identified and money allocated in the budget to deal with it!
  23. I've still got a pair of HP 2900 from 2006 in production as well as the POE switch/controller from an *ancient* 3Com wireless G system. The devices that still require Java look like they ought to be upgradeable to a FW that negates Java, but I can't get the updates to take. They just refuse with an error about the firmware not being in the correct format, other apparently identical devices take it fine. I've got a pile of shiny HP Aruba 6200 and 2930 due during the summer holidays to do 2 sites, with the other site due next year either at Easter or during the summer.
