  1. File path length? Compression on the Volume? Permissions on the share rather than the NTFS permissions? Badly fragmented disk - maybe try sysinternals contig utility? De-Dupe settings or errors?
  2. One of the charities I support on the side has 5 of them and they all died within 10 days of each other. HP were pretty good and sent replacement drives, but it did take a lot of phone calls. Interestingly the drives in the device were unbranded bar the HP spares label and the ones that showed up were Toshiba under the HP label so I wonder if there is an issue with a batch.
  3. OK, so having talked to staff during briefing it only appears on laptops - any wired desktops connected to smartboards seems unaffected, which led me to wonder if it was something to do with the docks as all devices run a consistent software image. So far what appears to fix it is: Disconnect the laptop from the dock, Turn the board off on the switch, Disconnect the board USB from the dock, Reboot the dock, Turn the board back on disconnected from the dock, Reconnect the board to the dock, Reconnect the dock to the laptop. If any one of those steps is missed or done in a different order it doesn't fix it. Freaking weird. FWIW I do not recommend Dell Superspeed USB3 docks. They have way too many quirks. We had to go USB3 for backward compatibility. Our favourite quirk so far is dock holding on to it's last image so staff think it's working, because there is a picture, but it's the last thing it saw before it was disconnected.
  4. That's interesting... I'll give it a look.
  5. Can now confirm this does not make a difference in this case...
  6. Interestingly if I move to different boards without shutting down, the issue moves further and further across until its just writing squashed into a 4 inch wide strip down the left of the board. Touch and smart ink on other apps is unaffected.
  7. This is all smart 22. We have smart 23.1 packaged and ready to go over half term.
  8. These are all connected via HDMI at 60hz. I'll try a display reset.
  9. We've got an issue appearing like whack-a-mole at the moment where inking in the notebook app appears randomly offset from the pen or finger location. Sometimes it's a couple of inches away, sometimes crunched up on the right hand side of the screen. It's always offset to the right and down, how far varies. We have a mix of Smartboard MX, GX and 4065 (due for replacement in a few weeks) boards, so all genuine Smart. The issue doesn't seem to occur on the GX boards, but does on the MX and 4065. What is weird is that it's just inking directly in Notebook. Smart-Ink in Office apps is fine, touch is accurate to drive the interface. Sometimes restarting the Smart board cures it, sometimes restarting the PC cures it, sometimes restarting the smartboard service fixes it, sometimes it seems to be linked to the document and others are fine... Anyone got more of a clue?
  10. Only using the /q switch
  11. I send always send a post incident review to management, but it's just an email.
  12. I suspect that's your issue. I think Windows Backup requires a secondary system reserved or recovery partition to operate.
  13. It's not the destination, it's the source - how big is your system reserved partition?
  14. So, I've got a Rode Stereo VideoMicro on my own SLR which I use when I need to stream meetings I'm attending, or I know the stream needs to be particularly high quality. They aren't cheap at a shade under £200 currently. It does also have it's limitations - its not great at picking up more than about 5m away, so I also have a cheap conference mic like this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bigking-Microphone-Conference-Portable-Recording-default/dp/B08D7C383Z that sits in the middle of the table and plugs into the slr to cover a wider area. I have a background in AV engineering, so I have also gone the whole hog for several very important trust meetings with a rented setup from my former employer - 3x matched pair condenser mic arrangement suspended from the ceiling tiles to cover the whole room plugged into an Allen & Heath Zed 16 USB mixer, then 6 4k cameras on HDMI via 2x elgato camlink pro controlled by an elgato streamdeck XL & OBS Studio to move between the multiple meeting video sources, participant video, documents and presentations. How far down the rabbit hole do you need to go.
  15. I use a Nikon SLR and a shoe mounted rode mic for most streaming meetings - I borrow a Samyang Wide angle lens off a mate for some meetings. Alternatively a £20 wide angle go-pro knockoff with webcam mode and a £12 PZM USB conference mic will do nicely.
  16. All my tenancies show Calibri 11, except the one that I've set to be Trebuchet 12... I've just had a poke at it in a test environment and if I set Calibri 3 I get Calibri 12 which suggests it's got a minimum and ignores anything below it. Maybe just try it - set Segoe UI 12 and see if it rolls out? The vast majority of people aren't going to notice. Go on, test it in production!
  17. We're a Bromcom house at all of my schools. We implement MFA for all users and user based geofencing for all users except SLT. Other than that we rely on the acceptable use policy and audit logging.
  18. What management are you using? You can just add it as an app store package in later versions of SCCM and in InTune? In an AD environment you'd need to script it... winget install "Microsoft Photos" --source msstore It may actually be easier to script it everywhere TBH.
  19. It is possible... Connect-ExchangeOnline Get-Mailbox -ResultSize unlimited | Set-MailboxMessageConfiguration -DefaultFontName "Trebuchet MS" -DefaultFontSize "12" Change whatever settings you need in here - one of my schools runs 12pt Trebuchet because it's the school font. Check it's applied... Get-Mailbox user.name |Get-MailboxMessageConfiguration | Select Name,DefaultFontName,DefaultFontSize It took 12 hours to apply to all users.
  20. That's fine... You can install the HTML5 client so everything runs native in the browser. https://woshub.com/rds-html5-web-client/
  21. HTML 5 Client on the RDP server?
  22. We're using a few T48, a few T46 but the bulk of them are T43. The handsets all seem OK, the error was with the tolerances for timing in the original script from the supplier
  23. I have found that, but they required interaction on the first 2 reboots - a factory reset, and then a manual VLAN selection.
  24. Ok, So, update on this, bit a few days of it... Supplier confirmed they were accepting there was an issue at 3pm Thursday, but couldn't immediately identify where the issue lay. They Rebooted and resynced some of their internal infrastructure and did several remote updates and settings adjustments on our Splicecom MAP overnight on Thursday, but approx half of the handsets then didn't come back up on friday morning. Friday is not my day to be on that site and I really couldn't stop what I was doing to drive over there. The school was without those handsets until about 11am when the supplier managed to find that the upgrade script had an issue and was causing the handsets to continually loop installing a failing update. The supplier cancelled the script and I got one of our office staff to reboot all the phones which then came up - except one. The supplier then requested that I attend site on Saturday for a couple of hours to work through the handset updates, which is fine, Management coughed for 2hr30 overtime and everything went to plan, but my god, I did some walking, 68 extensions over 4 blocks had to be rebooted manually 3 times each - once to factory reset, once to provision on original firmware and onece to provision on updated firmware.
