Hey all, I've had a Google but it seams Google use very similar terminology to another setting, so just wondering if any of you know where this area is? We've recently switch to Enhanced protection but are getting blocked downloads (which is expected) for Bromcom exports such as .html, .CTC etc etc. I know i ned to add the Bromcom URL as an exception.....but i can't find it anywhere! Any pointers?

Our permission sets are job role based, with users having multiple permissions based on their day to day roles. These permission sets are layered. We have a standard role and safeguarding role which everybody gets, then others are added and layered depending on role..... Communication admin, Covery admin, Senco admin, SLT etc etc (see screenshot below) We don't have users switching roles so to speak, unless i've misinterpreted your question.

Jaan replied to Ditto's topic in Cloud Services

We have a number of roles and permission sets in bromcom. I've just been asked... "Which roles have permission X". Apart from going through each role and permission one by one is there an easier to do this? i can print of all the permissions on any given role, but still have to go through each permission for each role...... How do you guys do this? cheers

We don't at the moment. However as you say some material is stored there that is used for professional development. I've contacted Vimeo and requested filters be placed on our IP address which will block all non child friendly stuff.... You have to prove you own the IP via documentation from your ISP.....which we're still waiting for. https://help.vimeo.com/hc/en-us/articles/12427619790481-I-need-to-restrict-access-to-mature-content-for-my-students

Ok, so i'll start off by saying i don't hate apple..... i just stop using their hardware and devices many years ago and went Google/Android. I've had Imacs, Minis and first gen Iphone...... so that how long i've been out of the game... From what i understand now, "AppleID" is now just "Apple account" Here's goes..... We're a Google school with staff that access our Google stuff on a mixture of Android/iOS devices. The apple devices require a APNS (Apple Push Notification Service) certificate to work via our Google admin. I need to log in and recreate this.... never had an issue in the past. Historically, i had created a school appleID via a web browser and got pinged a 2step code via the mobile number i had registered on the account..... no issues there. I only log into said AppleID account as and when the APNS certificate needs regenerating. That time has come again, and i'm no longer receiving the msg or the phone call to send me the 2step code to log into the apple account. After researching, i seems to need a apple device to do this now. I have been given a older iphone from work for the "admin tasks" so plan to put the school appleID on it once charged..... assuming the phone isn't locked to the previous owner..... I'm just not sure how i'm going to gain access to the apple account if i'm not able to receive 2step codes....... any ideas? Cheers

Anybody else has a wonda sync request from "ImpactEd"
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Yep i also noticed this when looking at impactED, notified the DPO so the data request changes could be updated. Wonde shouldn't allow these type of request, its bortherline data phishing.... They should always required a staff lead before wonde even allows the request. -
Hi Mark thanks for responding to this thread. I'm hesitant to invest time into another submission that might not be considered or acted upon. I've noticed that past feature requests, such as the student portal CSV uploads, have seemingly disappeared or been deleted, even though it had plenty of votes. Point in case: https://ideas.bromcomcloud.com/ideas/BRCM-I-5900 That and the fact i was asked to submit another feature request is the very reason i posted this thread. But thanks anyway.

Bromcom's habit of shifting responsibility for their own errors onto us, by closing support tickets and requesting feature requests, is infuriating me! We're sorry your system is broken, but hey, why don't you write a feature request to fix our mistake?..... I have an issue which i asked for clarification, it seems anything at all remotely technical their response is.... Booked ticket below; ----- Missing "Gender" selection in Student & contact details settings screen Dear Bromcom Support Team, We've encountered an inconsistency regarding the "Sex/Gender" field in Bromcom. While this field is mandatory when manually adding a contact (indicated by an asterisk), it's not required when using the admissions form under config\MCAS\Student and Contact Details. As a result, we're seeing contacts created without a defined sex/gender, which are then listed as "unknown" on the "Others" tab. This issue is further compounded when exporting data using Capita One, as these contacts are formatted as "" and causing errors during LEA import. We can manually correct these instances, but we need a long-term solution to prevent this from recurring. Please let us know if this is an oversight on our part or if a backend fix is required. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Sincerely, Jaan IT Support reply: Note Description: Good morning Jaan, Unfortunately contact gender is not a field that can be enabled for the admissions and data collection forms. I can understand how this is causing problems, so I would suggest using the Raise Ideas portal, if it is not already there, to detail your requirement for consideration for future development. Anybody else or am i just being grumpy [again]
