Bought Transocean on saturday afternoon (a Shipping tycoon sim that is a few years old now) Think I've played it a bit too much these last couple of days as I've almost completed the campaign mode
  2. Secondary here. Our system initially creates new student accounts with their DoB as their password and also sets the "change at next logon" flag. Logon details are e-mail to tutors to give out in that mornings registration (if they remember) We then have a webpage that staff can access to search for students by username or surname/inital and the ability to reset their password to a random 6 character word and reset the "change at next logon" flag. It cut down the number of password change requests a log when we first implimented it, and these days it's only every now and then we do it (if the teacher can't remember how to do it or not at a computer)
  3. Did you expect to get a negative reaction?
  4. If the underfloor heating was done correctly, it's got a concreate screed over it which should be fine for an IWB
  5. We have a script that runs every morning that creates any new user accounts on the network, and a second script that runs every hour and sets the licences for any Office 365 account that is currently unlicenced and AD Syncronised.
  6. Can't see an issue with a floor stand. We're having one installed in a room in our new sports hall. As the wall is just single skin pasterboard, the stand gets screwed to the metal studs to keep it upright, and the weight is via the 2 2inch posts on the ground.
  7. Not too thrilled with it on paper. First item I went searching for, I found cheaper through normal channels (though admittedly without a SSD but I'd still save money buying and installing the SSD seperately) based on their indicitive price. Also you have to wait a month from submitting your request until the order is processed?
  8. Note to Self, do not mention round objects near @ICTDirect_Dave or @elsiegee40
  9. If they want to activate the break clause for 2019, they have to tell FOM later this year, but they are still contracted for 2017 and 2018. It's more a tactic to try and get the price adjusted once the new owners are in the same as lots of the other tracks
  10. we ran our own fibre over the summer. For 3 patch panels, 400m of 8 Core OM3, 400m of 4 Core OM3 (Armoured), Flyleads and termination from a local electical company it came to just under £1300. We installed our own catenary wire and already had ducts in place (although I did add a few new holes through some internal walls as we ran through 3 buildings)
  11. Just don't tell them that the Vorlons carried them in the previous war
  12. Anyone want to buy Manor F1 as they are in administration again... good job Pascal is off to Sauber this year.
  13. Come on @synaesthesia keep up It's rare that they would be used in a network envrionment, but quite common for phones and alarm cables to be spliced with the jelly clips if there has been a break somewhere, or to use some of the unused pairs for another line.
  14. Are they resistors, or has someone just used jelly clips to extend the green pair because they were too short?
  15. If you do take the prisims out of the slots to clean them, make sure you put them back in the correct way round otherwise you might wonder why your colours are all out of alignment
  16. If you go down the route of AD Azure Connect (the free one) for use with Office 365, you do not have to worry about the password complexity issue as it uses your own active directory password policy (and in fact stops users from changing it via 365 since it does not hold a master copy) Setting it up was very straightforward. Just install the client on a member server, and you can specify which OU's in your domain that you want it to monitor for syncronising accounts. If your AD domain is a different format to your e-mail domain, you will need to add a UPN suffix but again this is covered in the guide. We've been running it now for several years without any issue. Accounts will not automatically have any licences assigned to them so you can still choose if you want students to have e-mail access or if you just want to use it to provide free Office provision for their use at home.

Watched a Twitch Stream of Astroneer on release day and it did look a lot of fun even with the expected glitches. Might be tempted to get it at some point. However I have picked up Golf With Friends and it's always a great laugh
  18. Using the Click to Run would require you going to each workstation, launching the click to run, then getting every user to login to their account to activate the office instance. Compared to deploying Office 2016 via the download from the MS Volume Licence which you can do via group policy, and if you have a KMS server configured with the licence, it automatically activates. As for updates, Office 2016 gets the new features via the Windows update the same as normal. Can't say I've noticed any difference between the full install on the office computer and click to run 2016 at home.
  19. I'd say PSU based on same issues previously. Although it might be a higher wattage than the Corsair, it might not be to the same quality. I went from a "cheap" 850w PSU to a corsair 750w and my PC booted happily every time.
  20. I read it that you were considering adding RFID to students, which to be honest is about the only way to ensure they don't loose the tag.
  21. Thank you for your concern, however I am aware of the MoHS rating as it is clearly displayed in the ActivPanel information and compatibility between existing boards was slightly higher on my list than a plastic backing to the panel. As for inviting all the manufacturers and having a "show-down", I don't think I would have the time for that. My original post was to find out what type of system fellow EG members would recommend, as it provided a counterbalance to our platform agnostic AV company. That both @BenQ_Adrian and @Clevertouch_Rob both suggested a touchscreen based on the provided information confirmed that it was route to go down.
  22. Thank you for some the suggestions. We're currently deciding between a 75" or a 84" ActivPanel (depending how much cash we find down a sofa) as it keeps the software standardised thoughout the site and being less susceptible to stray ping pong balls knocking it out of alignment.
  23. Yea that was news on Monday, but McLaren have said Nope as Alonso has a watertight deal for 2017 with them, and the Merc board are still edgy over him as he was part of the Spygate scandle last time he was at McLaren and left.. My money is still on either Werhline or Bottas
  24. So the basic onboard GPU then unless your planning on running 40 man instances?
  25. Can I have a cup of coffee please I love the taste of it.
