Get teachers on board with what ever software you use. 1. It will help spread knowledge between them and reduce issues 2. When a student cannot access something they need to access for the lesson because of a block put on by another teacher, the teacher can most likely sort it out themselves rather than coming to IT Support.

Used to use Managengine ServiceDesk plus at last place (FE). Can do things like auto assign a technician (and exclude others) which was handy for us as we had separate 1st/2nd/3rd line teams. Worked well for us.

What device/appliance/VM is been used as the DHCP server? Also if routing is been done on a core switch it may be possible to look up the mac address table and the arp info for the MAC address.

What do the switches support and go from there. As @FN-GM suggests a encrypted connection. I've had mixed success with WinSCP and PowerShell but a linux based box might be better anyway :-)

Agree So we are going to ban students using phones during school only to have them walk out the front gates and down the road glued to their mobiles?? It is bad enough with grown ups still using their phones and driving, walking down pavements, riding bikes, completely glued to their phones and complete ignorance to anything else around them. Case in point on Saturday, driver on road should not of been (royal park), driving too fast but slowed looks like was going to give way to people crossing road but kept going deeply immersed in the mobile screen. I noticed with 3cx v20 that my trunk stopped working all of a sudden. This is with an on prem 3cx server. The 3cx system would not register with the SIP trunk provider, setting registration to auto fixed it. No firewall changes had been made between it braking and working OK. It does not help that I am using a non-supported SIP trunk and they were absolutely useless in getting any basic information and simply said we don't support 3cx and I've been with them for 5 years Firewall wise is SIP ALG enabled or disabled, has that been changed?

Personally I put any important photos on a NAS then that gets backed up to a cloud provider. The phone I only store photos on that I might want whilst out.

If you have admin/management access to your firewall it should not cost anything, getting the firewall VPN to work with Azure VPN could be another matter, lol.

It sounds to me it is not reading the CSV too. Can you try putting the full path in the $CSV = Read-Host -Prompt ".\RenamePC.csv" or jus change it to below to keep it as basic as possible $csv = "FULL PATH\RenamePC.csv"

You may have to use OpenSSL to generate a CSR. A few months ago had to do the same but on a controller cluster for the first time, not sure if it is the same on the Instant APs if someone will clarify. Basic of what I did: Generate a CSR with a private key using OpenSSL When the cert comes back from issuer you might need to generate a cert file using Notepad or Notepad++ with the un-encrypted private key in following order: server cert server private key (needs to be unencrypted) intermediate cert/s root cert

Campus APs where you use a controller you need to select the certificate in the general settings too under Captive Portal. Not sure if it is still the same as we are running older version of controller software. Never done this on Instant APs though.

4k over a 10Gb link even to SSD is difficult enough with a few clients. So basically you have networked clients accessing/working with 4k video that is attached to a server via iSCSI. And I take it that server where the storage is shared from is a VM too?

You might not get anything more than redundancy if you aggregate the ports. Assuming you are using iSCSI for connections? Are you using the onboard/daughterboard 10Gb connections on the Dells? Are you using a Hypervisor if so which?

Pretty sure you can move with with the VM off without vmotion. Just through the GUI. Unfortunately I don't have access to ESXi anymore in my current role.

While there is still a market where Motherboards, CPU, RAM and storage is all modular and upgradable there will always be a place for this type of activity. Also teaching children/young people how to use basic hand tools and observe safety is valuable.

I don't think much beats a big naturally aspirated American V8 with an auto box on the sound satisfaction scale. My friend used to have a Jenson Interceptor and I don't know what was better been in it and going past people or been passed by it :-)

INMO and experience you need departments taking accountability for the laptops, classroom management and SLT on board. Tracking the last logged in user can be handy but only if this is followed up (or taken seriously) by Head of Departments and/or SLT.
