PSShutdown should be able to do what you want. Or you could use an autoit script. Another option might be to use a bit of scripting to add a sheduled task to do shutdown /l after 15 minutes. I didn't go to College in the US sense. In US terms I'm a high school drop put. Now working in a school where ironicaly I'm not well enough qualified to be in the sixth form.

You can get loads of different mounting brackets for TFTs, including many that clamp down to the desk. It's probably easier then finding a CRT. You might also want to look at some kind of tablet PC that could be used flat on a table.

No. Sounds like the switch is packing up. Is it gigabit or 100mb? If it's 100mb try altering the driver settings on the machines to force them to 100mb. EDIT: Just had a brain wave, check to see if there are any power saving settings in the NIC driver. If there are disable them.

Depending on what you want to do you might also want to have a look at Free Windows Installer - MSI Installer Tool. And if you need a nice clean machine to building software images on, and to test them with have a look at VirtualBox.

We've been stung the same way with HP 3600s. Like the 2600 (but not the 2605) they are host based, which gives trouble if you're using a print server. I'm pretty sure something in an MS update has effected this, since ours went from being good as gold to a complete nightmare over night. I think HP have realised host based is a bad idea on networked printers, since they not don't make any host based networked colour lasers.

Because it's a firewall, so it's probably sitting between him and the internet. I would however think it could be addjuested to solve this.

I'm pretty sure you can use either (we're got a mixture on our 500 series boards), if you're using the smaller one it'll ask for drivers when you plug it in. Just point it at the Smartboard Software folder in program files and it should find them.

Have you considered a helpdesk system? However if they can't do email, the chances are you are going to give yourself more not less problems by introducung another system. I would strongly suspect it not that many staff can't it's that they don't want to and your management aren't willing to push email or make training available. I don't like suggesting stuff time this, but how about slips they can fill out and put in your pigeon hole.
