I've got one of my desk that's been knocking about for three months. I asked the teacher if he had the license. He produced a text book, I ask if there was a delivery note of invoice that says what we're entitled to. Enventualy he found one but it didn't have the right information. I the end I phoned the publishers, now I know these companies primarily produce books not software. But when the only person available on the phone doesn't understand what I mean when I ask 'Do we have a site license or is it just for use on a single computer?' they're doing something wrong.

I've encountered a machine with both Norton and McAffee, it was running like a one legged milliped that was was sufferingt from a fatal case of death. Disabling McAffee using MSCONFIG got it going again and I was able to salvage it. I think I was however lucky. In that situation I'd probably just go for the rebuild. That way you know you'll be solving all the issues. Oh and try to find out which member of the family is a bit too eager to click next next next next finish and give them a locked down account.

Are you using Pukka 3com tranceivers. HP Procurve kit only works with HP tranceivers, maybe 3com is the same. Have you tried linking two of the new switches with fibre?

We have a large site, we also share a campus with another school. This includes some building that are used by both schools. We also share a sixth form meaning some of the other school's students are in our lessons and visa versa. We don't use registers at all, we instead have a system where designated people check various areas and report them as clear.

Just bare in mind if you have power steering and servo asisted brakes these will also cut out. Not a big issue in a small car but something big it can be. You're not going to pull up a SIlver Shadow without brake servos. It all depends on the car, I had a Polo that would often stall when cold between durring gear changes, I would often just coast, drop a gear bring the clutch back up and it would bump start the engine. Oddly we'd had this car for years, the garage never managed to sort it, three months after inheriting the blasted thing from my mum I tried super unleaded which solved the issue and improved economy enough to recoup the cost.

It would be a shame if they did. Books, newspapers and magazines have a much better ability to show the context and the atmoshere in which an article was created. Pick up an old magazine (maybe one that's 10 years old), even if you are only examining one article you'll noticed period advertising and other articles. Even the style of the type setting and photographs. If you read the same article off a web page in isolation you'll miss many of these details.

If they're the same as the 1800 these don't have a serial port. The default I.P. address is 192.168.2.10, you might have to change the I.P. range on one of your workstations just to make the change. You might also have to isolate the switches while you sort them out otherwise they'll clash with each other.
