  1. You could apply it, you just extracted dll files from the installation file and then coppied them to the correct place using a dos boot disk. The only issue was some of the DLLs weren't included in a default install of windows. So I had to use another patched machine as a reference to find out where they went.
  2. I'm running CS3 with 2GB on a single core machine, I am however fairly patient. I think an upgrade is in order. What do people do about backing up their photos, at the moment I just copy them to a spare harddrive.
  3. I hope it's a good summer.
  4. Appropriate disipline.
  5. We used to be local place names, However since we've gone virtual it would get a bit too hard to manage. There's all serv and then a descriptor. E.g. ServDC1, ServPrinting, ServSims, A school I used to work at had servers called Daisy & Buttercup.
  6. This, normaly ale or sometimes cider.
  7. Are you going to morph into a cupboard like Odo from DS9?
  8. Wait, how many miles is it between Brisbane and Sydney?
  9. What I'm waiting for is 13A, 240volt power over wireless Ethernet. EDIT: And a mobile that supports it, with a built in charger. EDITEDIT: That isn't an iPhone.
  10. Ahhhhhhh, didn't realise you could use it to deploy ultraVNC.
  11. I have, but the moment I'm really more looking at the server component then the viewer. We have AB tutor for the teachers, VNC is just used by the tech staff.
  12. What versions of VNC are you guys running? We've currently got RealVNC, but I'm going to have to enable systray for students (it's either that or enable the messenger service ). I need a version of VNC where I can disable the systray icon. I know there's a 'modified' version of real vnc that was distributed with LanView that didn't show the tray icon. But are there any good alternatives?
  13. You would also need to have your computer attached to a port that's set 'untagged' on the default vlan aswell. Try using the server that runs procurve manager, if it's running PCM it must have a network connection to the default vlan. Or if you're getting despirate break out the serial cables.
  14. Make sure it's not an uber pea.
  15. Uh oh we've unearthed a marmitling.

  17. I don't know what else to say, but good luck.
  18. Same here, except instead of removing IE shortcuts we keep them and have the home page set to one asking the indivisual to see the appropriate member of SLT. We don't have any long term internet bans, access is given back once the matter has been discussed with the assistant head, or on a second occasion the deputy head.
  19. I've got; Humus (Home made) Black Olives Red Onion and Cucumber.
  20. I've found the transfer thing, How do they know why they've had prints denied?
  21. Because simple things amuse tiny minds. Less stuff to fiddle with the better, at the moment we have the whole sys tray disabled. However this prevents Papercut giving messages to the client so this has to change, I'd also like to have windows volume control as well. The only other option for papercut messenging is the enable the messenger service, which I really want to avoid. This only displays their credit, it doesn't give them an explanation for denied prints.
  22. I'd agree with the suggestions, actualy visit the other site before 12pm and check the kit is powered on and working with their network. The only other thing I can think of is the link being effected by direct sunlight? There might be some sort of hood or filter missing off one end, causing it no to work in direct sunlight. Sounds a bit far fetched though.
  23. Hi guys, at the moment we disable systray for students. However I'm going to have to enable it because we're going to implement Papercut. How do I disable Sophos's tray icon?
  24. I'd check HP's spec sheets. I was pretty sure all 2650 had gigabit uplinks (I know the advert doesn't list them). But it might be some earlier versions didn't.
