I just cancelled my subscription to the game, have 2 days left on my account as it wont renew automatically now. Feels absolutely great too, like I have gotten a monkey off my back, I have subscribed to that game now since vanilla (joining halfway through) realised the last week that I just dont have any enjoyment in playing the game now, I have bottomed out and broken my addiction to World of Warcrack, plenty to focus on going forward, which is great.

from a point of view, I would say be very careful with staging units when your putting them up, my dad lost the top of his thumb when one of the "clamshell" type ones that various people have linked fell over and crushed the tip of his thumb in between the two sides of it, some of these units can be very heavy, awkward and unforgiving when your moving them about and putting them up.

i know that feeling, have my rogue on 86 here and cant face playing that content again at the moment, its a flat game I feel, you ding and nothing then, my guilds not active though in all honesty so I think being the only one online and most other people being offline or on a faction I no longer have chars on gives me very little incentive to do much in the game.

So far, I have levelled a druid/Warrior/Hunter and a DK to 90, couldnt face doing any dailies, so spend my time at the moment soloing old content to get my character classic gear, I have no incentive to raid it seems, managed to get my Tauren warrior the AQ40 set the other day and hes looking pimp now in his old school gear Maybe I will raid some, but with 8 weeks to go until Junior arrives, my wife has somewhat different ideas to me playing WoW

I should have expanded a bit more really, I meant the type of staff you get in some establishments that seemingly avoid the necessary eye contact with you during that period, when your trying to get hold of them for your bill, a lovely Indian restaurant that me and the wife were in the other week seemed that they were happy enough for us to just sit there and not looking or distracted (total of three staff in a fairly empty restaurant) when we were trying to get the bill, to the point where I had to get up and go ask for it.

I have noticed this a fair bit lately as well, wife and I have been left in a few places now (PE was one that I do recall here that did it and some other restaraunts have done the same) where you get left in the restaurant and ignored, even if its not exactly busy, I don't know what they expect you to do after you have your plate taken away and refused any desserts or coffees, sit there and enjoy the ambience perhaps ? lol PE took about 10 minutes to get us our bill here and we were only one of 6 tables active in the restaurant with about 6 people working there.

I have had it installed for fortnight now, it has some silly issues where M$ has failed imo, installation being one in that it requires the enabling of my onboard graphics card to actually boot up the geforce one I have installed here, to then disable it in windows and configure around the screens when its installed. The start menu change to begin with was horrific and tiresome, but now a month in, I am finding it no different really, I am mainly in the desktop on it for the majority of the time, I like logging onto the machine by pin here and there are a lot of features I like in 8 - auto mounting of ISO/dmg files I like, inbuilt hyper-v is good as well, bitlocker being a normal part of the pro version. Its different but works well after the initial changes, but it is very frustrating compared to what was the norm from 95 to windows 7 with the start menu when you first use it.

I saw a Lexar 32gb Jumpdrive in Staples today for a £10 - would recommend if you need a decent sized flash drive for cheap.

I actually have it installed on my home PC again and am having a better experience this time, I am apparently a sucker for punishment (lol) I am warming to it, I have a massive issue at the moment in in that I need to have the on-board VGA enabled in the BIOS for it to boot on my Gigabyte motherboard, because it doesnt seem to recognise my GTS450 on its own if the onboard vga is turned off, so I have to disable screens and the card in windows, this time around I have not installed any other drivers (Windows itself downloaded the latest nvidia one, which seems stable). Other than that, its working well so far, takes a bit of getting used to the start menu change though, but I am persevering, acid test is going to be when the mrs has a go (showed her last night, but she needs to play for herself with it and get use to it)... wish me luck ....

I would research the laptop model on the net and check for common faults these days as a first point of call, some Dells are prone to screen problems (either the screen or the connecting cable), especially in the inspiron ranges, we had a couple of teachers have dead screens just after the warranties had ended

doesnt really suprise, expenses stuff is still going on despite the period of time since that whole thing started, ill wager it is going on now still, just they have moved the goalposts again for it, how they have the cheek to actually claim for a second home bemuses me, they should have a block in an army barracks to stay in as far as I am concerned, good enough for our troops

same here, reboot everything you think its likely to be affected, we had a switch here causing havoc the other day, despite STP being setup, in that it was basically flooding with CRC and misalignment errors following a surge, one quickish reboot and all was well again

I have had a nightmare the last couple of days trying to get this to install on my home machine, to the point where it has put me off this OS completely, I may reconsider when SP1 lands for it, but until then it can swivel. I had an irritating installation issue, because I dared to use the 64bit pro install, where it hated my graphics card (a pretty non-descript nvidia GTS 450) and completely garbled the graphics to the point I thought my gpu had broken, managed to find a workaround the next day and got it installed, after a very long winded process involving re-enabling and using the "onboard" graphics from the motherboard initially, then me downloading the proper drivers, it went over to the other graphics card after downloading them without any issues, or so I thought, I then started having random freezing of the OS when doing simple things like file copies off my portable hard disk drive back to my machine, no warning, just the HDD light downing tools and the screen freezing up, I then proceeded to download as many updates as it would throw at the machine when I rebooted it up, but still randomly it would freeze up, sometimes in metro, sometimes in desktop, I persevered and double checked all things like driver compatability ensuring the drivers were correct and taking my time not to do anything much at once, but the freezing still happened randomly, usually when it was dualling in Metro and the desktop (I run 2 monitors) After about 5 hours last night of straight use after getting home, I just decided to bin it off and stick 7 back on there as it was still randomly freezing up, requiring resetting each time which was driving me mad, thanks to Skydrive with my docs and photos, there isnt a massive issue these days with me nuking a PC and getting it all back over thankfully, just copying my WoW/Diablo3 and Steam dirs back onto a unit. I didn't know what to make of it from my first decent bash at using it and I still don't now, in all honesty my first impression was that I didnt like metro or the change to the desktop, some changes though I do love, like integration for ISO files, thats long overdue, server side, I love the improved hyper-v stuff, but to me it definitely hasnt improved the user experience from my point of view and usage of it the changes to the interaction, the tiles aren't bad and don't detract from it, though I did find that it took a bit of tweaking and de-crapifying initially, visually its impressive, looks sharper and cleaner on my monitors than 7 Pro, but I just couldnt get used to the "will they wont they" hovering over the start area for the menu to appear, that is a very frustrating change going from a permanent button to a hover button for me on a normal desktop PC for little actual effect over how we used a PC. I also completely dislike the fact that so many simple things are now hidden under so many extra layers when it comes to using the computer, I could never ever see this working in the school environment we have because its just too different from the simple way of doing things now and to me it seems to be overly complicated in use to previous, when you do like for like things like editing files and browsing directories. I think its a fail so far from M$ personally on this one, its another millenium edition/vista to me, some nice features, but too awful an experience change, long live windows 9 !

Most phones these days come complete with a wizard that people can run to restore these settings, especially the smartphones, that being said, I can see me being one of these lock it down techno-dads benefit of working in IT I think. (I am a big believer in having shared computers in the house and none in bedrooms though for this reason).
