I dont notice my Macbook Pro being especially slow as it is here, I bought a 15" in the last 3 months and its quick anyway, it feels and boots from cold quicker than my windows machine on most things, despite that having an SSD and large amounts of RAM. Same here, when we upgraded our cluster to 2012 R2, I could control it as I was 8.1 already, but my colleague couldnt see the servers until his machine was upgraded to 8.1

Personally I use Chrome on a Windows Machine of any kind that I can install apps onto, Safari on my mac and iPhone. Our users use IE for management though as its configurable. IE is the best browser though, for downloading other browsers, as the various MeMe's state

Its not able to be put on a domain when I looked at them, I don't think they would be super used in education because of that, my understanding is that it's similar performance to a chrome book

A lot of them can be self studied and you just pay for the exams rather than pay for courses, I didnt realise this until a couple of months back myself, instead of £3000 for a course it can be £45 for 2 books and a bit of a time commitment to work through it all and just pay the exam fees for the same certifications.

Hello All, I am thinking of getting a printer for home and its been years since I have had one so I am after recommendations here. Its probably going to be an inkjet printer and I am looking to spend around £60. Are there any makes to avoid these days ? and whats ink like in terms of costs these days ? (is separates the way to go with cartridges) Ideally I would like it to be wireless/mac/ipad compatible as well. Rich

I think looking at the sites I have been looking at about comparative results, it would have been a lesser majority and I don't think you could count 100% on UKIP blindly following Conservatives, people do weird things when power is concerned, LibDems were proof of that I thought last parliament. This election we saw a lot of pandering and scaremongering which was horrible in relation to the SNP/UKIP which has also skewed results I think, the main parties were involved in it a fair bit to only the Tories benefit. SNP have taken Scotland, for what gain, Sturgeon has said they will not vote for independence unless there are material changes. They will not pass any laws or be able to oppose laws which the whipping system will push through as parliament now is locked out for opposition parties unless theres a backbench revolt. UKIP are only gaining a foothold now because of the fact that parties will not talk about some of the issues that they are embracing, you can't sweep stuff under the carpet in this day and age, the expenses scandal highlighted that well I think. Regardless of their politics though, I don't think its right that UKIP have a single seat for the amount of the country wide vote that they polled, same as the Greens and other parties, I feel that our political landscape is now not a reflection of its peoples will, but a tale of fiefdom's and blind allegiances to an outdated party system, certain areas will just not entertain voting for alternatives. I would have favoured a situation where at least you get the majority of parties all having to work hard to get stuff through, rather than being able to blindly push any manner of punishing laws through parliament, I understand also that majorities in parliament can be both harmful and helpful, I am not convinced with Tories that it would be helpful to the poorest and weakest in our societies, they have a worse five years ahead with food banks, homelessness and more misery to look forward to. Its a weird system where your vote counted for nothing because you live in an area not allied to a party or hardwired and died in the wool to an opposing party. I think that Labour became a lost cause for winning at the point when Ed Miliband became it's leader, he showed a lack of character stabbing his brother in the chest publicly and sucking up to the unions to get the leadership as he lost the party vote, though it did highlight that problem with the Unions and Labour for all to see. I said to my wife when he came into power, he won't win an election for Labour and lo and behold everyone I spoke to in the run up to this was of the same opinion, Labour wouldn't win it with him in charge, he's not supportable as a person to take charge of the country or of the calibre to be a PM and he was proven that under our old system, that was worse with Ed Balls around him I felt and I was glad that he lost his seat, he had absolutely no humility despite the problems caused by Labour when he was involved before.

I really hope that Proportional Representation comes in eventually, its not like this party are going to vote for it though sadly with a majority, this election highlighted how the FPTP system is a complete failure for a supposingly modern democracy. Its ridiculous that 30% of the cast votes got them a majority to govern with the way the system is geared at present, I just hope we can act upon the flaws of the system and get change to happen now.

I have started on the study for it here and its progressing ok so far it seems (Self studying, courses seem mega expensive by comparison with providers from what I see)

I support fining people for not voting as well myself, should be same as Australia for us, fines levied for not doing so.
