This community was suggested to me by @garethedmondson when I started in post at the school I work in as another avenue of support other than our LEA/ MS Technet provision as everyone here is helpful. Haven't looked back since joining, lovely professional community to be fair.

I was thinking about this kind of app the other day, as the HDD leds have never worked on my case here, so I have been flying blind as to activity on my main machine at times and wondered if indeed such an app existed.

I noticed it this afternoon as I was updating our school ipads on a quieter day for them since they went live and itunes and the mac App store just refused to log me in for about 4 hours, despite nothing being wrong with the apple IDs. Only one app to update so it avoided a major headache thankfully on both stores.

I enjoy the program on and off myself, but think its gotten worse over the last couple of years, the competitions are staged and poor, there are other cars than the supercars always on there, it used to be something topical when it did things like review ordinary cars, but thats all gone by the wayside nowadays.

I have £38 of credit remaining in my account on google play at the moment after 2 film rentals, I have actually earned more in credit than the 2 chromecast devices cost now, one was £20, the other was £15, its well worth checking them out because of the offers throughout the year on them.

Think I prefer the 2011 look to this office 2013/2016 mishmashed look.

Thanks for your suggestions here, I seem to have cracked it, I initially lowered it to 1 and that made no difference, I lowered the egress throttling then down to 25 mb which seems to have sorted it, I have each box on the cluster being backed up now to each nas, so the redundancy is full flung now, each box on an active full only takes about 35 mins max, each server has a 1 hour slot to backup in. I think it was a case with the Buffallo NAS drives that they didnt like being hammered by the suite going flat out. Also - I was having another error relating to VSS on the system reserved drives, I upgraded them to v8 recently and it seems to have solved that problem.

I think when we checked this a couple of years back, we were averaging 1 million pages a year for the year I checked the data on across all printers and MFDs. It is coming down I think slowly and we are reducing the amount of MFDs too gradually to save costs. That being said from what I gather the need to print and prepare stuff in welsh language drives a fair bit of this as textbooks in that medium are lacking/thin on the ground and staff often have to create their own resources or handouts.

Nice to see someone giving it a go, I gave up when I was 25, played front row for Majority of my time over the years, with spells playing everywhere else, including two seasons in the backs, when I was exceptionally fit and fast in my younger days. (Started at under 8s and am 35 this year), friends used to laugh regularly at the state of my neck/face when I would go out on a saturday night (usually full of compression marks), I still love the game, but I think its gone too much of a muscle based game now with the way its developed and that's to the detriment of the grassroots I think. I would say avoid front row completely if you haven't played before, its highly specialised, you need to learn technique for there and it is easy to get hurt, you need a good set of back, shoulders and neck muscles to consider playing there.

Our SAN is pure storage as a CSV set here in hyper-v, I backup all our VMs off cluster using veeam to the 2x NAS that we have (8 and 12tb of storage on the pair of them respectively, with a little bit of use for backing up the schools photograph archive)

I went raid6 on our SAN with that in mind, rather spread things over both controllers than all in with an "it can go bang bigtime scenario". I think the second point is because price wise SAS/Enterprise SSD disks are horrible which probably accounts for a lot of overspeccing at install times, plus its better to have too much space and sitting there unused than run out or run that risk, plus it does fill up over time with creep. Our sites original NAS box which was used for media file sharing, has now crept up to one and a half times the disk size of its old home when it was copied to a new home after the original linkstation went bang.

Thanks for the advice a while back all, I was having a couple of problems it seems, the CPU fan was definitely not the right type for the AMD Phenom I have, haven't ordered a new case yet as I think a CPU fan has sorted my temperature issues. I bought a Coolermaster Hyper 103 and have spent an hour fitting it this morning, I also had a look at the Airflow of the case fans I had and sorted that out in the case I have, I put the more powerful of the fans at the intake this morning to pull air through it and one of the fans was fitted wrongly at the back, blowing air in, which is why my idle temps seemed to be around 55/65 degrees celsius. Now its hovering around 35 degrees and I no longer have a "Hot to Touch" case after an hours gaming. Thanks, Rich

Hello All, I am having the following problem and its quite infuriating, don't know if anyone else has come accross it before but its infuriating me a bit here. I am trying to backup from our 2012 Hyper-V platform to our 2 NAS Boxes, our Hyper-V Platform is Server 2012 and we have the full veeam backup essentials within support, our NAS boxes are 2 x bufallo Linkstation LS-QVLs (one is 8tb one is 12tb, nothing much is stored on them both, a little over 700gb of data) When I kick off a backup job to the NAS devices, through a veeam proxy to our NAS, which I have setup as CIFS/SMB based backup repositories with veeam, I keep getting the error below:- It worked on a different VM this morning for the first time ever, Though since it hasn't worked and its back to the same behaviour as previously when I had a go originally, it was dying out with this error all the time, which is why I basically then set it up to backup to our "Backup" server and then I have a batch copy of the files to our 2 different NAS.

Looks decent there imo, smart move on the e-ink instead of lcd on the battery, vast improvement on the original pebble too, that was like a prototype I thought when I saw it, impressive though

Thats nuts that their allowed to scattergun like that with the requests, especially URLs not related to their media like linuxmint et al

I cleared off 10gb of data from our WSUS server here (only windows, server and office stuff highlighted) I want to see the return of Service Packs on their OS myself, at the moment its in excess of 150+ updates on a rebuild (think the real figure is a fair bit higher again)

LG are not a bad make from what I have seen of my dads, he bought a 56" TV last year and its going well with their sky, sound is decent too (had to be my dad is going deaf) - power saving can be a PITA with some new TVs because of EU regs now and you may have to push the remote to keep it on (my dads LG you could disable all that thankfully) I bought a Toshiba 40" TV just before our son arrived nearly 2 years back and it was "OK" too, not brilliant, sound is fine on it, but I am a bit annoyed now that the picture seems to have developed black lines in the picture under certain colours (blue/green and lots of white and it becomes visible)

Fair play, never considered that as an option or avenue to try, excellent stuff. On a plus note, 8.1 has a horrible amount of updates to install now already it seems and don't get me started on Windows 7 ! takes ages to cycle through updates on there when we have it rebuild a machine.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I couldnt run with the stock cooler with the Phenom it was like a hurricane on the unit with that installed. I had a nice coolermaster cpu fan which kept it all nice and cool, but the fan died on the unit and I bought a Xerocool quiet cooler, which turned out to be the wrong type of connector - I need a 4 pin on this machine and it came with three (think it was AM2 and not AM3+ compatible which I needed). I don't know if I fancy water cooling tbh seems quite fiddly and knowing my luck I would have it leak all over the motherboard or something daft I like that you can stick the PSU to the bottom in most cases now, taking the heat to the bottom of the case.

I am teetering on quitting at the moment, nothing holding me in game now I am finding, still have my orc hunter main on frostwhisper and a 100 tauren warrior on tarren mill as of yesterday, but interest isn't there atm as casualness seems to have ruined it a bit for me.

From what I have seen of some alternatives, the equipment they offer on the fibre can be cheap/terrible - parents ADSL router is some awful Technicolor box with their plus.net connection, range is worse than the old Belkin ADSL router my sister used to have and thats saying something with a Belkin device
