I wouldn't allow SMTP 25. You're at risk of your IP being blocked if someone is sending email spam from their device. We didn't have a policy as such. Just a small agreement in the captive portal when they connect. Similar to what you say. Not guaranteed etc.

I have done this before using the AP Groups. You can specify what SSIDs are broadcasted from the APs in that group. Although I am not sure if that is a feature of the essentials.

FreePBX will be able to do this. You can use the FreePBX Distro that will install the OS and all the PBX software for you. It also has all the tools built in to update the PBX software and OS.

You're best of using ink jet printers for cheques. I know one school that had a cheque stolen in the post, someone had managed to lift the laser toner off the paper and re-print it and steal money from the account. Ink soaks into the paper to prevent it.

At least we don't have to worry about that. The government is capable.

It sounds like they are copying what is being done with WeChat in China. You can send and receive payments with the app although I am not 100% sure if its crypto based or not.

It's a one off cost for the device licence. Its also technically optional - but realistically its needed in schools.

I can't see Google charging as it could hit their Chromebook sales. It won't cost them much to offer services to schools anyway. The vast majority of accounts will be allocated to students and they use hardly any storage compared to staff. I can't see Google or Microsoft wanting to be the first to charge schools for their cloud products so I can't see any of them budging for the time being.

Sounds like they DDOSed themselves. Surely they should have know how many people will be sitting the exams from the number of people who registered?

It's not that expensive compared to what companies pay. An IT service is very expensive to run and this isn't reflected in lots of schools budgets.
